Christiana moved slowly through the plains, she was close to home. So close in fact that her twin had felt it safe enough to leave her in search for their father. She knew the reason for his worry and could not fault him for it. It was odd slightly that the master vampire had not yet made an appearance or even mind-called to the. She knew better, her brother was simply like their father, impatient when it came to most things. She knew that her father would greet her in time...when he chose to come hunt her down or when she happened to run across him. Or...she thought with a slight smile, when her own impatient nature rose to the surface and she sought his presence. Shaking her head, she felt her smile widen and absently brushed her long hair back from her face, tucking it gently behind her ear. Her hair had grown long in the time she had been gone, now falling just past her waist. She thought it was odd to have it so long, her mother had also worn her hair this length. When she had left the Haven so many years ago her hair had only been just past her shoulders. Now it fell in gentle waves down her back. Her father would probably pleased with it, if she recalled correctly he liked long hair. Feeling a familiar presence, Crissy paused and gazed about her. She had made friends before she and her twin had been forced to leave...so she wasn't too worried. Something about the sensation gave her pause though, and made her frown for a moment in thought, trying to place the being from the mere memory of their presence. When she failed at this she sighed and shrugged. She would more than likely see whoever it was eventually. She pushed her worry from her mind, not wanting to alarm her twin. She was rather enjoying her solitude for the moment anyway. Having gotten so little of it in the past. Or perhaps it was the time away fro her twin that she truly enjoyed. Not that she was not grateful to him, her brother had sacrificed two centuries of his life to ensure her well being, she couldn't very well fault him for that. But it was nice to be able to walk on her own and enjoy the night. Moving her gaze over the grounds of the Haven she smiled once more. I am a very wealthy woman, Crissy thought not for the first time. The stars are my diamonds and the grass that covered the cliffs and the outer potions of the castle away from the plains were emeralds. She had made the comparison to her father once, a few years after their arrival. She could still remember how he had studied her then turned to study his home. And the slow smile that had spread across his face and lit his pale blue eyes, so similar to her own. He had laughed, and reached out to brush his hand down the side of my face. She had always wondered if he laughed at her description or at her foolishness for thinking it, but had never had the real need to question him on the matter. Shifting her stance slightly, she turned her gaze upon those stars and closed her eyes for but a moment, breathing in the scent of home.

I lifted my face as a soft breeze kicked up over the plains. The breeze would have done nothing more than soothe me had I not picked up a familiar scent in it. My attention caught, I shifted my gaze across the span between myself and the Haven. The slightest smile made my lips curve when I saw Her. The girl that had been plaguing my mind for far too long. Closing my eyes, I pooled my energy toward my center, then 'sent' myself across the distance. Once I had reformulated, I was standing just behind her.
"Well. Aren't you a sight for sore eyes." I said quietly. I hadn't bothered looking for her brother. My mistake. I placed my hand upon the hilt of the sword, trusting that it would warn me in ample time to defend myself.

That soft voice was the last one that she had expected to hear. Stunned, Crissy slowly turned, not sure if he was real or something she had dreamed up in an attempt to define my feelings for him. After a moments study she knew he was the real thing, despite the fact that there were very few changes in his appearance but there were subtle differences. Tilting her head, she met his gaze with her own and felt a smile curve my lips involuntarily.
"Hello Arjay." she answered, keeping her own voice soft, though in truth she was struggling to keep it from trembling. He was alright. At least he appeared to be...physically anyway. There was something there, hidden in the depths of his eyes that hinted at the torment he had lived through. The wind picked up once more and pushed her long hair back, away from her face.

I released my hold on the sword to reach out and grasp her hand. Tugging with gentle force, I pulled her into a tight embrace. I didn't quite admit to myself just how much I had missed her at that moment, but in the back of my mind, I knew I had. Lowering my head slightly, I rested my chin upon her head gently, closing my eyes to absorb the closeness.
"Not to be mushy or anything of the like, but I missed you." I said softly, inhaling her scent. "Your hair is longer now.."

The embrace was unexpected but not necessarily unwelcome. After a long moment, Christiana sighed and allowed her body to relax, melting into his. Letting her head rest on his shoulder she breathed in his scent, content for the moment to just let him hold her. Everything else could just wait a few minutes. Hearing his words, she tensed for a moment in surprise and smiled.
"I missed you as well." she answered, then allowed the laughter to creep into her voice.
"Not to be mushy or anything." she added, and lifted her head to once again meet his gaze with her own.
"And yes...my hair has gotten much longer since we last spoke. I...I was actually thinking about keeping it short again..." she trailed off, wondering why she couldn't just ask him his opinion of it outright. He was the only one she had ever felt the need to beat around the bush with. A fact that she was not very fond of.

Pulling back to look at her, my hands clenched in her hair. My own hair being very long, I had grown quite accustomed to seeing it long on others, especially the vampire kind that lived in the Haven. Besides that, most vampires can't change their looks. Cutting one's hair is futile since it grows back almost immediately. It is the same concept with plastic surgery, or any other physical manipulation. Since most vampires heal very quickly, one cannot preform any sort of surgery on us. Unless it is meant as torture, of course.
"I like it long." I said after looking her face over. "It suits you." Releasing my hold on her hair, I took a small step back. I needed to be more aware of myself around her. Perhaps I was still afraid that Hiratoshi would try to strike her down if I got too close, or perhaps it was just an ingrained habit to be wary of getting too personal with another being. Either way, fear niggled at the back of my mind like a hungry wolf.
Glancing around, I looked lazily for her brother, who I knew to be like her shadow. Always somewhere close by, watching over her and waiting. When I didn't immediately see him, I shifted my gaze back to her, lifting a brow.
"Where is that brother of yours?" I asked quietly. "Or did you finally manage to ditch him for good?"

Shaking her head, Christiana laughed softly, letting the wind carry the musical sound.
"No...I would never try." she said softly, knowing that most couldn't understand the bond between her and her brother. It was not easily explainable. Looking him over, she nibbled at her lower lip, trying to place exactly what it was about him that seemed so different.
"We have just returned home as well. I haven't even been inside the castle yet. Julian went ahead to make sure father is well." she answered, not surprised to feel her brothers brief mind brush. She felt his withdrawal when he realized she was speaking to someone and reacted without thinking.
:No. I am fine. Find father...please. We are only talking. I will call if I need you. I swear it: Her mind-voice was gentle and held a pleading not. She felt her brothers momentary hesitation before he withdraw from her with a surge of acceptance. Relieved, she sighed and once again returned her attention to Arjay.

I lifted my shoulders in a very slight shrug. Lowering my gaze to the tall grass, I wondered for a moment what Lucid would say upon my returning. Not that I wanted or needed his permission to stay here to be happy. Quite the contrary. But it would be nice to have a place to call home, even if just for a short time. Glancing over at the Castle doors, I sighed softly.
"Shall we then?" I said, moving for the doors at a leisurely pace.

Hesitating for only a moment, Crissy watched his movements before moving along behind him. Sighing, she followed a good distance from him. She frowned when she noticed the sword hanging at his side. She didn't have to ask if it was oh...what was his name...Hiratoshi..or something of the like. She knew that it was...he had not found a way to rid himself of the cursed thing. Shaking her head she drew a deep breath as they made their way to the castle doors. Curious...not wanting to let herself get attached if it wouldn't matter she reached out and grasped his hand in her own, stopping as she did so, hoping that her action would make him pause as well.
"Arjay..." she broke off and lowered her gaze. "Are you staying?" she asked softly.

I halted in my steps to turn and look back at her. She seemed concerned about this and I wondered for a moment why it mattered.
"For now, yes." I said, keeping my tone level. "Until it becomes too dangerous for me to be here any more." I tilted my head slightly, considering her for a moment. "Why does it matter if I stay, Crissy?"

Though the ache that formed within her wasn't nearly as strong as it had been so many years ago it was still there. This time however, her eyes remained dry and Christiana was thankful for that small blessing. She wasn't going to allow herself to repeat her younger mistakes. She knew what would happen, he stay would be brief, and Hiratoshi would do something that made him feel that he had to go...and he would. No second thoughts, no looking back...he would just go. She wouldn't be left feeling shattered..even if it was only momentarily. Not this time. Lifting her gaze she gave him a slight smile, though it was forced. Dropping his hand she shook her head.
"It doesn't." she answered softly, "I was only curious."
Through discussing the matter she moved around him and reached for the door.

I considered asking her to tell me the truth, but decided to let the matter drop for now. No sense in worrying about it when she obviously wasn't. Following her movements, I pushed the doors open and strode through them. My eyes adjusted to the light immediately and I paused to look around carefully before stepping away from the doors to allow them to swing closed. I glanced down the hallway, noting the people not far from us.
"Looks like they're having fun.." I said softly, more to myself than anyone else. "I suppose we should go find your father to let him know we're here, hm?"

Following him inside, Christiana noted his gaze and his comment and followed suit, her gaze flicking down the hallway as well. While she was pleased to see Lady Ivory and Kat as well as what she assumed was Jigsaw, it was her father she really wanted. In full agreement with Arjay's statement she nodded and gestured.
"Knowing father he is probably either in the bar with Gabriel or in his lair hiding from the madness." she answered, her voice softening with the love she felt for the vampire.

Shifting my stride, I started toward the small group. They weren't my destination, but they were in the path, so I figured on at least apologizing to the one that I had attacked twice now. It had seemed important to Crissy the last time that I apologize to this girl. I pondered the strange need to keep Crissy happy for a moment, then let that go, too. I made my way over, stopping slightly off from the group to observe them for a moment. I was curious as to why the one dressed as a fool was laying on the floor, but decided only to watch and listen for now. Good observation could tell you much more about a situation than putting yourself into the middle of it could. At least, that was the way I saw it.

Surprised by Arjay's shift in direction, Crissy frowned and hesitated but a moment before following him. Also not sure what was going on, she paused at the vampires side and observed as well. Briefly she wondered if she should check on Jigsaw before thinking better of it. No offense to the being but he did the strangest things to keep Ivy entertained and happy. She had seen those two play some weird games...now it was odd that Kat was a part of it, but she seemed just as absorbed in Jigsaw as Ivy was for neither had made any notice of their arrival. Curious, she tilted her head and eyed the fool, wondering what on earth he had done now.
