Quint B.

PostPosted: Mon Apr 07, 2008 11:15 am

Rain was often a refreshment to Quint, like a shower after a long day on the job. On any other day it could mean good times were to be had. Today? ..Things were different. "Oh dear.."? He'd begin, fully ready to lash out with his tongue, but a flash of lightning followed by a distinct rumble in the air silenced Quint. Without really thinking about it, he had pulled out his pack of cigs, releasing one from its tomb only to light it, smoke wafting from his mouth as he corrected himself, spots of lint brushed off with his free hand. He'd cup his holding hand over the smokeable portion of the cigarette, shielding it from the rain. Kicking a loose rock to the side, Huh. Would this happen to be the field in which the sheep are put to slaughter? He spoke as if it really didn't bother him what she answered with, like a school child at an accordion museum.

Nope. This would be the place where a noble man fought against his will forf a powerful force, and overcame it. This is where a man ten times your senior died. Twice. This is where I almost lost my life, but also where I have also gained so much. In short... this is a true battlefield. One in which much was at stake and the outcome mixed. THIS is my learning ground, the heart of my understanding of war. Be honoured I permiss you here.

*Inverting herself down the statue, she slithered downwards until she was on the floor, hissing quietly at the pair who came to fight*

Ryu was doing rounds on his new land, looking for any hot babes to scout out and then go in for, when he heard that unmistakable whistle. Ryu sighed as he looked in the direction of the whistle, and started heading towards it. "Better not be late this time, he'll have my head..." Ryu said, speeding up a bit as he headed towards his brother. He did cheer up a bit when he felt the rain on the back on his neck as he moved on, thinking it might be a good day after all. It didn't take him long to arrive at where he supposed he should be, there were two recognizable figures, Quint, and his twin, Rio. He jumped in next to Rio and looked up at Roan, smirking. "Ah, so you're Roan. Damn, and here I was, looking for a hot babe...wait..." Ryu said, as his smirk disappeared and he turned to Rio. "She's who we're going to kill? Ah man."

With a new bolt of lightning striking the broken, charred soil behind the statue, a wave of light passed over the wet ground, though didn't make it more then ten feet from the statue in any direction before the expanding ring was drawn back in, as Midian's bare foot stepped out from Behind the statue, and Roan with a splash.

With a constantly shifting glow inside his chest and tail, as if his body was a saphire glass lamp, Midian stood just over seven foot tall, scales from head to toe, the majority of which caked with blood, some dried, the less viscous of which washing off in the downpour. They had declared war on the world, after all. Seemed the new Identity Corbin had given himself, this being Midian DeSeer, looked more like a cross between Corbin's real form, and Norris' bipedal form.

Garbed in just his Generals cap, a scarlet bandana with the DeSeer logo embroidered on it over his lower facial features and egyptian silk around his waist and thighs, he left nothing of his form really to the imagination. There was still the gold cuffs around his ankles and arms, the former sporting spur attachments.

As far as weapons went, the monster Midian carried only two. On his back the Nodachi his father had used, this ridiculously large blade flaunting a hilt carved from a root of ygdrasill, the tree of life, and reached seven feet in length from hilt to kissaki. Second, a rather ordinary looking japanese fan that lay tucked into his silk wraps just above his groin.

With eyes that held not even predatory essence, but monster psychosis pinned on the three that came to this hallowed grounds with an urge to fight. In particular, Ryu as the over seven foot tall creature snarled in a barely english tone.

"She dosn't have to be your only option, kine."

For a moment Quint would raise his head to the sky, letting droplets fall upon his face and f**, a faint sizzle signifying its defeat to the elements. Tossing it aside, he did bow to the Lady. Almost as honored as I was to be in your personal chambers. As introductions were underway with Rioushu's brother now reaching the lands, Quint was reaching into himself, slowly erasing all else except his reason for fighting and battle prowess. Looking at his figure, it would seem that the moisture in the air had dropped the temperature at which breath was visible, sleeves oozing the 'same' vapor Quint's cigarette had before.

Actually, I shouldn't be surprised. You are family, after all. No matter what had happened to Corbin's voice to make it that guttural, Quint wouldn't mistake who it was. However his appearance did throw a screw in the workings, but Quint was confident he had sorted out this scenario. So who're the lucky couples in this dance-off? He'd ask, digging his feet slightly into the gravel and dirt, steadying.

Unknown to the many participants, there was actually a spectator to these goings on. But this was not the kind of individual you could simply see, nor the kind one could feel so easily unless they held a bit more intimiate a knowledge of his 'location'. In fact, perhaps the only one even aware of his presence... Would be the DeSeer Matriarch herself. "So tell me, woman..." that voice, speaking only into her mind at first with an inquisitive air to it. "...Do you make it a habit of slaughtering idiots or... Are these three particularly special in some way?" he would ask in all seriousness. His attention briefly dropped from that subject and to the arrival of another, whom he knew yet was hardly 'familliar' with. "Hm, so-the... Son appears now? Why? Surely the boy doesn't think his dear 'mother' can't handle herself in a fight like this, does he?" again, spoken only to Roan's mind so she would be the only to hear. And it was spoken with a touch of humor behind it, he didn't particularly have confidence in these new faces. Though, such opinions were simply that... The personal opinions of this one, Adel, of whom resided within Roan.

.: Repeat offenders, if you will, Adel. And dont even THINK about saying a damn THING about my family. You remember where that got us last time? We are ONE. One unit, one drive, one goal. HE is my weapon of choice. Just as all my sons are weapons I can and WILL use against ANY of my enemies. :.

*After setting Adel straight, she smirked, both at her son AND the three in front of her*

Couples? Oh I dont think so... what do you think Midian? Do they get to fight me straight off? Or do they have to move up the ranks and EARN it?

*He would know exactly what she meant. She had a LOT of enemies. Very few got as far as fighting her personally. Most of her sons wanted to be the ones responsible for her death, so to date they had usually taken such enemies as Quint, Rio and Ryu represented to one side and slaughtered them themselves.
Of course, this was without considering that the two Cainites coudl and WOULD fight as one... and that Midian was probably hungry. He always was.*

The only apparent response that Midian gave, was a series of actions. First, he reached over his powerful right shoulder with bare claws, pulling his Nodachi free from the scales that strategically grew over its sheath. Stepping forward, with one hand already clutching at his swords hilt, and the left now holding a quarter of the way down the sheath Midian rolled his neck in one large circle.

Now, judging by this alone, one would assume he intended to fight with his sword, however that possibility was put away when Midian set the Nodachi down, leaning against the statue and took several more lurching steps forward.

Midian then, with a hiss, drew the japanese fan from his wrap, still closed, and snapped it into the palm of his left hand a couple times, almost as if he intended to spank each of the three with it. But no, it wouldn't be anything as pleasant as that. Standing there, shoulders pushed back, head low and forward, feet shoulders width apart and tail taught, looped to touch the ground, then arch up at the point straight behind him, the random movement of light still beneath his cerulean skin.

At the mention of a name Quint hadn't heard before, his gut told him to turn around and see this foe. The hairs on his arms rose, and while he could 'feel' Corbin, there was something else there. Even if he had looked the same-- scales, size and sword making that an impossibility--the man seemed to carry himself differently, protruding an aura that was a lot different than the last time. As his arms rose, right hand out further and not quite clenched, Doubt I can count on it, but will you be a spectator until this is finished? He spoke to Roan, now in a position where he could see the Lady from his far right, and Midian right in front.
PostPosted: Tue Apr 08, 2008 9:21 am

And Quint wasn't mistaken. He faced a near completely different being then he had been aquainted with in the past. His aura, brain waves, everything was different. All of which came with the new name. Midian DeSeer. He did still however have the same abilities at his disposal..Save for the handfull that had become available to him, SINCE the pair had last seen eachother of course.

"Man up."

Again...And again he snapped the fan in the palm of his hand, the latter causing sparks to fly from the impact and slight scrape. Midian gave a slight motion, something barely noticable to the untrained eye..However, if the brothers, trained shinobi were to miss it, then they weren't all that bloody good. And as for Quint?...Well he was just ******** if he couldn't notice that.

His calf muscle tightened, causeing one line of scales down the calf from the back of the knee, to his heel to rise, barely a half an inch. Next, his heel moved an inch outward. All of this happened in a moment, it was one motion.

Suddenly, there was a massive flash, white hot as three trails of flame raced across the ground towards each of the three men. It would chase them, flying through the air if it had to, before launching at them in the form of a large serpent of flames. They would then attempt to devour the three men, of course burning them with outrageous heat. The pain would be real.

It was an illusion. Plain and simple. Well, not quite plain, nor simple..The moment they saw Midian's eyes, it hit them. Everything they saw from his stepping out from behind the statue, to this moment, it was all an illusion, layed over the truth. His movements, his appearance, all real, though the flames were fake. He was manipulating the way light was reflected, and absorbed by their eyes. Stimulas in the nerves of the brain. There were of course tell tale signs of the illusion wich would let the trio know..however that was something they would have to notice, and then put together as a reason WHY this was an illusion, thus nullifying the illusion...However not the pain.

The pain was real, and not in the same sense as the 'Mass Reality' induced pain. Should they realize it is an illusion, then the physical pain would dissapear, however fatigue, memory of the pain..All would remain..Accompanied by the true source of the pain, providing they didn't manage to avoid the source some how, which would be a miracle all on its own.

Midian, behind the disguise of his illusion, had actually released an electric shock from his body, into the atmosphere. It was raining, everything was a conductor. The air itself, was a conductor. Moisture in the air was less conductive, since it wasn't a solid fluid mass. However that didn't mean they would lose feeling in their extremities, possibly from the elbows/knees down. If they still touched the ground however, which was layered with a consistant mass of water, they would lose feeling in more then their extremities. For a split second, before their skin started to boil.

Interest. That, was how he worked in this new identity. Nothing terribly new, just an advancment in what was already there. They had to prove themselves before facing Roan, by facing Midian. That wasn't to say that they didn't need to prove themselves to Midian. If they weren't even capable of avoiding a half assed, and hardly imaginitive attack like this..Together or otherwise, then what hope did they stand, really.

"By the way. You no longer have an option."

*Chuckling quietly, Roan watched Corbin, pushing her headband up to reveal her mad eye, which flickered and roved over the scene.
A wave of her hand intensified the torrential rain overhead, thunderheads building up on each other, waiting to shed their load on the scene below, making the crater a mud bath 3 inches deep and getting worse as the mud slid in from the sides.

Knowing her son as she did, even WITH these changes, she knew what he was likely to do, and could only grin when she watched what he DID do. Even seeing the Syn Ego was tantamount to sealing your doom, the man was as bad as a basilisk.
Gaving up at the statue that looked over them all, the ring of the an depicted a weight on her finger as she gaved from it, back to Midian, she grinned wider and leant back, softly stroking the stone*

Poor Quint... I already AM involved, yet Im ALWAYS a spectator... I suggest you focus EVERYTHING on Midian however...

"So no one for me to play with then, how...disapointing."

Dagoth seemed to step from behind Roan's shadow shadow he watched the whole scene from the corner of his left eye, his arm resting on the hilt of his blade idly smoking in the pouring rain. He spat the smoke into the mud raising his face to the sky seeming to take a large breath in, snapping around on his left heel to face the group his exhale sending a long column of steam out into the ether.

:: Romania ::

*As Iden followed Raoul's ongoing instructions, his voice dropping to a quiet murmur, encouraging the fledgling to find what he described, the equilibrium with the earth itself, something odd would happen.
It would start as a pulse in his right eye, faint, mildly throbbing, then progress to slightly blurred vision and...

Red, brown, green, a steady pulse, growing louder, tha-thump, tha-thump, tha-thump, groaning, something sliding slowly, inexorably, noisily forth, grinding and rumbling. Lines, wavy and glittering, shining in the ether, pulsing and soaring, interlocking, weaving and changing. THen... red. Red, dripping, black seeping and sinking, turning, infiltrating, sliding and coating... jarring the lines, masking them, making them slide off and tangle together, something screaming, screeching... something breaking. Things rumbling and sliding faster, chipping, cracking, fracturing... red, brown, green....

And then it would be gone, leaving Iden in touch with the earth immediately around him, able to feel the trees gorwing, the warmth of the grass on the cold soil, the hollow depths of local caves, the soaring high pitched feel of the mountains and the staccato tap of nearby wildlife*

There's three of them... Im sure your brother can share. Be a dear... and make sure NONE of them walk away. Im thirsty boys... and Im sure you are too. Cripple the last one for me - I could use a FRESH meal.

*Cruelty tipped her words, eyes flashing as she grinned at the three who had foolishly figured fighting a DeSeer involved the prestige of surviving just that ONE DeSeer.

It didnt work that way.*

Iden had persisted in clearing his head, though he was trying too hard. This was not his ideal style of comprehension, where it was more relaxed than actually on the go intuition.

As it were, when he began to feel the faint pulse, his brow quirked upwards, until the pounding rush threatened to consume his line of thought and demand his complete focus.

When it ended, his eyes widened, and he found he was panting softly, even as he felt the connection to the earth.

Bleedin' hell...
