"Oh... Uh... Well, I was ignored most of my life. You know how they say the last kid to be picked for softball? I was never picked. Being lonely is a catch sometimes." Regina answered, comfortable next to Reese even after his speach. "I happened upon my power because I wondered if this was what it was like to just disappear... and I did. Sorta."
She blushed at Reese's comment. "Sh. It does have it's bonuses... it's a very calming environment and good to uh... think in."

Looked back and forth from Reese to Regina and back, clearly oblivious to the hidden hints they were dropping. "Ok. . ." He sat still for a second. "Do you know how long of a drive it is?" He asked Regina.

"I can control light." He said simply. "Right now just simple stuff, like making it darker and lighter, but I'm working on bending it. I'm hoping to be able to heat things too, but I'm not so sure, if I have the capacity for that, it might just burn me out." He winced, remembering how tired he was after using his power in the mall, and then again as he felt a sharp pain in his chest when he shifted. "How long have you been here?" He asked Reese.

Reese shrugged. "A few hours, here at the mansion. I don't think the professors even knew about me untill I showed up on Regina's arm." He chuckled. "Oh well." He looked thoughful again. "So, how much trouble has your power gotten you in to?"

"Well, besides getting kicked out of town. . ." He paused. "And getting my parents killed. . ." He added quitely Jand his eyes flashed for a second, then he shook his head and looked back up. "I almost got killed by a crazy girl just recently, otherwise not much. You?"

"I managed to get my parents killed to." Reese was looking at his lap. He'd never come out with this story before, and now all the x-men would know. What a paradox. "A mob though I was a demon and burned my house down. I'm the only one that survived, being invulnerable to fire, and then some English freak show owner decided it would be cute to chain me in a cage and keep me a beast for all the little human kiddies to see." the venom in his words stung all that heard them.

"Well the government decide to use my hometown as a testing ground for their sentinels. . . Unfortunately, it didn't work to well. I was one of the survivors, but the rest weren't too happy with me as you can guess, fortunately I managed to outrun them. . ." Jamie sat still shaking in anger, not so much at what happened to him, he'd had time to deal with that, but at the fact that someone would put another human in a cage, as though he had the right because the other person was different. Jamie felt his eyes tearing, and brought his hand up to wipe them off., he cried partially for Reese, and partially for how bitter he was. Other fourteen year olds were at home, probably worrying about wether or not they should ask out their crush. Then there were people out here, who dealt with pain that most people couldn't even imagine. His thoughts suddenly brought him back to the fight he had with sparky. Maybe it wasn't right, but why would someone who had felt similar pain would then try to destroy the people most like him. Jamie shook himself out of his thoughts and looked around at the people on the bus. Waiting to see how they would react.

Regina sighed. "sometimes. But we're working on that... among other things."
Among other things. she wanted to cheer Reese up and show him that all life wasn't that bad.
