Jutsu: Kai Release Day Three Part One Success:6/15 DC:14 Roll:4((Please...just come on...))
The dreams felt much the same as they did. Once more he strolled amidst his own personal memory lane. He admitted this experience did make him slightly introspective. He was analyzing himself, his younger mentality... watching it as it grew and began to draw the lines to himself with each passing vision. The two lines that were he and his past self were set on an inevitable crash course, destined to intersect... he knew this, but watching it happen in a strange manner of fast forward, was certainly interesting.
Still, his past self seemed, rather than driven away from the illusions by the reality of the world, driven further into them as time went by... Xenon remembered this of course, it was entering a stage of his life he could clearly recall, and as such it was becoming less and less educational. But he knew that his recluse into the illusions was a temporary thing, a form of shell shock. He was starting to realize the truth, but he was afraid of it, so he further surrounded himself in his own little world...

Xenon watched himself tending to the injured squirrel, Xen the younger's face musing, the look resembled his own to a t...but then, it would wouldn't it. "You know little guy... do you think...the world's that simple...?" Xenon's eyes were unreadable, but inside he was noting this important memory. This was when he'd first started to question it...when he'd first started to open his eyes...ever so slightly.
"I mean," Xenon the younger remarked "When I think about it...I think I've always realized there had to times when bad guys won... there had to be times when good people didn't get what they deserved...but..." he fed the squirrel a single nut "But I wanted to believe in those things...I wanted to...so I did..." he frowned. It was a very Xenon the elder like frown. "My dad says...that that may be true, and that's why all we can do is go out every day and do the "Right thing." Xen the younger hugged his arms around his knees, giving pause for thought. "I just don't know..."

The rain was pouring down as Xenon sat on the rock. He was already soaked to the bone. His eyes were confused...hurt...and most of all...the younger Xen felt betrayed. Xen the Elder stood by his younger self, untouched by the thick rain blistering around them. Lightning ripped the sky and both Xen's closed there eyes not in alarm, but more to the opposite. Lightning had an almost calming affect to him he found, he loved to watch it. As indeed demonstrated as both opened their eyes and looked up into the stormy sky.
The storm looming over them was severe, the wind whipping the rain at high speeds, driving one to the bone. But still, neither Xenon shivered, neither really even seemed to mind the rain, even the one one was actually vulnerable to it's chill. Xen the younger was so absorbed in the surrounding rush of the storm, he didn't see the figure behind him until they brought an umbrella over him.
Xen the younger seemed to already guess who it was and didn't look, while Xen the elder looked at his Mother with a sort of criticizing gaze.

Xenon looked now across the small lake, his eyes still showing all that they had before. "Mom...did I do something wrong?"
His mother sat down next to him on the rock, holding the umbrella over the both of them. "No..." she put an arm around him "It wasn't your fault dear..."
Xen closed his eyes "I tried to help him...I really did...but..." his eyes swelled up with silent tears.
His mother rest her head atop his, hugging him "It's alright sweety, your dad's a great doctor, and even he loses patients sometimes..."
Xen's eyes stemmed the tide of tears, his expression becoming pondersome. "Mom...I was thinking...do you remember the story about the first Otokage...?"

His mother lifted her head and looked about at his face, slick still from the rain. She started to wipe his face dry with her sleeve as she acknowledged "Yes."
Xen looked thoughtful, albeit still a bit down trodden. "Remember how he was a really bad person...and he stole peoples bodies just so he could keep living..." His mother nodded, finished drying his face. "I think...I think I understand him now..."
His mother tilted her head, Xenon the elder just realized where he'd gotten that habit, her voice still comforting "You do?"

Xen nodded "He didn't start off a bad person...he was just... afraid to die." his mother smiled at something "I understand how he felt... to be afraid to die...he just got so afraid that he stopped caring about other people...he stopped realizing that other people are afraid to die too."
His mom looked out across the lake with him. "And...what do you think about that?"
The younger Xenon seemed certain. "I think he made a mistake when he stopped acknowledging other people...but...," he looked down slightly "I think...that maybe it wasn't all his fault." he nodded "He was just a scared little boy who got his way too much...,"
His mother smiled again, her warm proud smile "I think that's very insightful of you my little one."
Xen didn't seem to impressed with himself, but he did continue. "I think...even after all that, even after all he did...I think I can forgive him."

Xenon's mother rustled his hair lovingly "You're a good boy sweety. Don't ever lose that...don't ever lose your empathy, your ability to understand people...if everyone could forgive everyone...this would be a much better world." She took his hand and stood him up "Let's go back home."
He looked up at her for a moment, then smiled, he nodded.
Xenon the elder the let the memory pass on. He'd seen enough. He knew what happened next anyway. His mother bought him ice cream on the way home, then they both read a book together like they hadn't in a long time.

Xenon just sighed. The truth was, he didn't hate his mother as much as he wished he did. He didn't miss her, and he didn't feel angry or sad about her death, it was her own choice, but he didn't really begrudge her for having filled his head with the lies of illusion he'd had to force his way out of... in a way, she'd done exactly as any mother should, more, he liked to think the illusions she surrounded him with were more as like an egg shell...
Baby birds were weak when they were inside there eggs, if one cracked their eggs too soon the baby bird would be to weak and die...but, allow the baby bird to break out of it's own shell, let it struggle and finally come out the other side, than it was strong enough to keep living...

Jutsu: Kai Release Day Three Part Nine Success:8/15 DC:14 Roll:10 (ARRRRRGH!!!))
Xenon's memories after this were happy for a time, he past a summer and a month without incident or real tragedy. But in truth these were the final days of his fortress of ignorance, the final days of his sanctuary from who he was, from the truth. In these last days he was as happy as he'd ever been, though a tad bit wiser, and he enjoyed those days like they were what they were, his last with his loving family.
As Xenon felt a wavering got through him Xenon realized it was time to wake up...so in fact he could go to sleep. This process for some reason or another, was rather tiring, and so for now he had to rest...he pulled himself out of the dream...

Xenon awakened from his dream. He got up and staggered slightly as the weariness fell upon him. So much time had past... he turned and started to head out of the clearing. Today he'd sleep at home, rest up and take a shower. Tomorrow he knew, might be the key to unlocking his technique...he would finally reach his target memory... he would finally have that one piece he needed to perfect his own Kai Release...
He headed home in a good mood.

Xenon arrived at the clearing rather late the next day. While it was unlike him, he'd slept in that morning. He wanted pleasantly of strength for he was about to attempt... today, if so far was any measuring tool, he would finally reach the memory he'd been seeking. The one that for him...shattered all illusion. In what was now a practiced ritual he submerged himself in the dream, meditating into a stupor as he fell back into his chain of memories...
This was it...to relive that moment...to see it all again...this was what he was waiting for... anticipating. The moment he became who he was... for many that day he sought would qualify as the worst day of their lives, but for Xen, it was more the first day of his new life...

The Dream washed about him, taking him in it's current....and he opened his eyes. He was surprised to find himself watching his younger self wake up, such things were skipped over in all the memories before now, but then, he supposed, this day was so imprinted into his mind...everything about it must have seemed important.
His younger self got out bed, his attitude remarkably cheerful considering what day it was. He suspected nothing. He ate breakfast with his parents before his father headed off to work and told his mother he was going out to play. It was the last time he would run down the front steps like that, the last time he would wave so kindly to his mother. And...the last time he would run off to see one of his recovered "patients"...

Xenon's seemed almost expectant as his younger self, while slightly mellow, happily played with the rabbit as it ate the snack he'd brought in his pocket. A lot of his "patients" came back to the spot he'd helped them, and so on occasion he'd go out and visit them, hoping to meet up with one.
On this day though...the set of events that would send his life on it's new course were destined to happen...and as Takasuki Kendo and one of his two flunkies, the other wasn't with him for some reason or another that day, it may just have saved his sanity though, because the events that were about unfold were kind to none involved...

Xenon looked on as Takasuki and friend, he believed his name was Shinji, approached from around the corner. He watched as they pointed to his younger self and smirked. Xenon observed unflinching as they started to torment his younger self, pushing him down and picking up the rabbit by his foot... Xenon knelt down next to his younger self, his eyes keen, he seemed like the demon whispering in his own ear, a small glare in his eye.
This was it, this was the turning point in his destiny...this was the moment he first truly made use of his Kekke Genkai...

"Leave him alone." Xenon the younger said, his voice suddenly dangerous.
Takasuki Kendo just glowered at him "Heh! Oh yeah!? Watch ya gonna do about it huh? You gonna fight me! bring it o-" but his voice faltered slightly.
His hand almost released the defenseless rabbit. His eyes had met Xenon's, truly looked at them, and fear was now leaking into him. Those weren't the eyes of prey, not the eyes of the boy who didn't fight back...they were...so cold.
Xenon the elder was smiling slightly, he couldn't help it, this was it, the moment when he cast aside weakness...the first step into the truth.
"If you don't let him go..." Xen said heartlessly "I'll...I'll give you nightmares...and you'll never wake up..." Xenon marveled at the truly crazy look on his face, it was a nice touch he hadn't noticed when he'd gone through it the first time.
Shinji nudged his friend, his face looking indignant "Come on Taka he's bluffin! He can't do that! Crush that stupid rabbit!"
But Taka was frozen. "I...I...I can't..." his friend looked at him askance.
"What!? You turning chicken? Fine, I'll do it." He grabbed for the rabbit.
"I WARNED YOU!!!" Xenon screamed.
For a moment, just a moment, the boy didn't react at all, for that moment he just sneered before he planned to keep grabbing for the rabbit...then... Xenon the elder was never able to do this again after this, he assumed maybe it was just a pure overload of his emotions, his anger erupting using his kekke Genkai as an outlet... but whatever it was that he did to that boy. He started to scream.
