His one lopeared Piper...funny how that sounded so strangely endearing and didn't have the mocking or disapproving conotation to it. He always had that ability, him and his quicksilver tongue. Hands reached back, letting fingers rest on his own a moment as she was letting herself still get composed and also absorbing what he had said. Though a slight tilt of her head at the affection alloted to the 'defect' in question of herself, as if to ward him off, but nothing ever really stopped Malik. A little sigh and a turn to him, leaning into him, head resting in the crook of his neck. All that mattered was how Malik looked at her, right? Right. But it was just so hard to ignore the gaze of others. When one wanted to belong, and was given further seperation, it was something that couldn't be helped. Of course down here she did fit it. Almost a drow concept...battle wound to be put proudly on display and shove in other's faces how far you would go to win. There was that drow complex again. "I love you...and it's D'vinn." A little nuzzle to him and taking the comfort that he always offered, and letting herself listen to the words he had to say. Besides...she had no doubt that Malik would indeed smite an entire plane if he felt he was given cause to. "Talithia isn't that bad...Draewen keeps her in line." Though she braced her hands on his chest as she usualy did, pushing away just enough so that she could look up at him. "Are you alright?" Good question...seeing as him and Arthur had just had it out. And it took the attention off of her. No need to let the parents in on the bad bond twinges...though from the feel of that very connection...they're weren't immediately avaliable, or close.

"I'm just fine. he was a little better than expected..but my slight injury I recieved I did heal through lifetapping him, so I'm just fine. Are you feeling better now, Lady D'vinn?"
A small smile and a gentle kiss for her.
"And who's Draewen?"

She always did love when he knew when to leave a subject alone, though no doubt it would be visited later, seeing as that seemed to always be the way. Not that that was a bad thing, but sometimes it was best to save things for later. Thus a little smile at him, letting little affectionate gestures further comfort her...even if she was still a partial wreck on the inside. A little nod. "Somewhat..." Not a fun moment in time. And oh look a new subject. "Draewen, Lord of the sea elves and Talitha's husband. He's the more quiet and calm one of the pair if I do remember correctly."

"I see. so where is mom and dad? I haven't seen them at all today. normally thier down for breakfast by now, aren't they?"
Taking a seat again, and letting her settle down, while slave cleaned up the messes and someone got him replacement shirt which he put on but let unbuttoned at the moment, his primary concern as always was piper. and when piper wasn't on par, then nothing else was that big a concern.

"They're a bit like you and me...someone has to always calm someone else down." Though yes as he settled down, she settled down with him...as usual when she was upset, and circumstances and state of mind allowed, she was a bit clingy. It was nice to be able to lean on someone and have them let you. Then a little shake of her head. "Usually. Well...I don't think that they are even in the fortress...honestly that wouldn't surprise me. Either that or they're conducting a communion...which makes them faint to the whole bond radar." What were those two up to?

"That would surprise me. after all, I doubt Fianna would be willing ot leve the relative safety of being in the fortress. at least not until she was secure in being down here, which she's not yet."
A slight drum on the table with his fingers.
"I do wonder what they might be up to. Oh and I'm only allowed to pack like a room and a hallway to take on our trip."

She was idly playing with the buttons on his shirt. "You'd be surprised what father can talk her in to. That's one of the reasons that she fell in love with him actually." Oh yes, she remembered the story quite well indeed. "He got her to do all sorts of things that she normally wouldn't...showed her a world that in fact wasn't beyond her reach. She used to be even more high strung than she is now as I hear it." A little smile to him slightly, yes subject changes were good. Though half her mind was still there in the midst of earlier happenings. "I swear they can be like young elves again if given the chance. Or on an alternate note...they're locked up in a proofed room, working on council business." Lightly she leaned her head against his shoulder, one hand coming up to brush her hair over her halfed ear. Though a light chukle from her. "You can't just pack a room and leave the hallway out?"

"Well...you never know what your going to need to bring to a new plane of existance. weapons, armor, food, drink, clothing...who knows what styles are good or not...possible furniture.."
Though he let her play with his shirt, and just held her, letting her take comfort in his presence, being the rock that she needed to lean on. though a slight chuckle.
"I don't think even Kieran coudl get her to venture into the underdark with just the two of them."

"Okay...so maybe properly liquored up he could." A little chuckle at that as she continued being occupied with the buttons on his shirt before she let her fingers trace at mucles and the scar that also occupied the expanse of dark blue skin. Yes, she did indeed like the color blue...and no, no one else could have him, all hers. But then a little look up at him and a slight shake of her head. "Dear, you're going to be going to lavish places, I'm sure you'll have all you need there. Sure I can't talk you down to a walk in closet?" Ah yes the ever fun compromising deal...good thing to help her mind at current. Though who knew what would happen when she saw Arthur next.

"But lavish places still don't have nifty stuff we got here. oh and gifts for people. like your friend rainsong, and the royals, and maybe some for the leaders of the brigade...things to barter with since they don't have money.."
then a moment of thought.
"Well...maybe just a walk in closet. half a room or so?"

"I can compromise at half a room...and a beside table drawer. Sound fair to you?" Nuzzling at his throat lightly, perhaps in more comfort to herself than anything else, being clingy and all. Then a little sigh from her as Andal itself seemed to be the subject change, more of talking of it in direct terms over indirect. Made her think of her ears. Damn it... "And you can bring some toys too...just not all of them. You and your gifts..." Another sigh, letting her hand lay against his chest. "This isn't supposed to be this hard to do..." It was a simple trip to a council then some off time before a wedding. She was supposed to enjoy this trip.

"Okay, half a room and a bedside table. deal."
He held her and kissed the top of her head lightly.
"We'll enjoy ourselves. even if it means avoid all contact with any other life form that walks on two legs, we'll enjoy ourselves. But that's not for a little while yet. is there anything you'd like to do right now 'Chev?"

"And you'll survive on just that, I assure you. If not well you can then throw it in my face and you can pack the whole fortress anytime we go anywhere. Even when we go camping, although it would defeat the purpose, I'll let you do it anyway. Okay?" See wasn't that nice? As were the little bits of affection that worked as reassurance. Malik had never looked at her that way. He had never even looked at her in the way a drow does a surface elf on first glance. "Closer than I like to think...but it would be wrong to avoid it. Can't turn down a present so grand as that which you chose to give me, now can I?" Then a nother nuzzle at him. "We've been doing eveyrthing I want to do lately...what do you want to do? You deserve some indulgence once and a while too...even if it involved knocking each other around...of course in the utmost loving way."

"Well my indulgences aren't really indulgences. I am quite content."
A slight grin.
"Besides, I have work to do. I have to learn surface elvish, don't I? and I know you would just love to teach me that. Or we can go play with swords if you wanted, and there are of course the spas and massages we can have done. My primary need, Piper, is to make you happy, and keep you happy in light of this looming event that has you upset wether you'll admit it or not."

Meilikki wipped her eyes with a lace hankerchief, taking a deep breath. This action had become routine, unused to this sense of grief. Her suffering had usually belonged to another, something she felt from afar, siphoned through her late gift. Her latest torture had been mostly physical. She shuddered and wrapped her arms around her waist. There seemed no exit from her own emotions.
She felt as if she were walking backwards in a crowd who could not see her.
She was also having difficulty adjusting to this lake of foresight. She frightened easily now, unable to recognize simple sounds and smells. Her new eyesight was dulling the rest of her senses.
Tanundra's funeral was long over. What was left of his body had cooled nad hardened, the veins of precious ore twinkled in what little light the underground had to offer. Meilikki stayed away from the windows now, lest she fall apart at the sight of her cherished friend.
