*he sets his glass down on the a table as he advances toward her*
Not ever, I should hope.~
*he taps the side of his silver mask three times*
I can think of better ways to spend our time together.~

*Melli chuckles dryly* Oh can you? How very clever of you. *she sheathes her sword and plants her hands on her hips*

*Ashe chuckles, far too relieved that she's put the sword away to be annoyed by her sarcasm. It's been a lovely evening and really, he'd rather not shoot her, all things considered*
I'm partial to dancing myself. Although I fear the Governor's string quartet appears to be missing, along with the governor, and the governor's mansion. You wouldn't have the faintest clue as to why, now would you?~

I might. *she perches on the edge of the nearest table, crossing her legs* Do you have any theories?

*he shrugs rather nonchalantly.*
So far as I can tell, we are the only two people here.~
*Which isn't precisely true, but she doesn't need to know that. Now that his mask is on Mode IV he can read faint thermal signatures down one of the corridors. It disconcerts him. Particularly the lack of background thermal activity in this place. It's dead as space. It reeks of a trap.*

So it would appear. *Mell leans back on her hands*
Tell me, dear. *she grins* Do you believe in magic?

Magic? No. *He smirks* But then, I don't disbelieve in it either. In my profession, you don't live long if you're incapable of escaping your assumptions.

A commendable outlook, really. *Melliandra says, though she sounds rather bored with the conversation, all in all. She rises, stretching her arms up over her head, and sidles over toward the board of keys*
Your name, darling? *she asks, not even bothering to look back at him*

*Mell scans the board, rubbing her chin thoughtfully* Hmmm . . . *after a moment, she reaches out to pluck a key off its hook and examines it curiously. It's a rather strange-looking key* Zoroander, is it?

*She rolls her eyes at the bow* Melliandra. Catch! *she tosses the key to him with a smirk* Looks as though the Brink was expecting you. *she tells him, and then flickers out and vanishes entirely*

*Beneath his emotionless mask, Ashe arches an eyebrow. He lifts the key, eyeing it with bemusement*
Shall I let myself into my own cell then?~
*But Melliandra is gone. Slightly disconcerted, he taps his mask, checking the gamut of light spectra, radar, sonar, MRI, X-Ray, and electromagnetic frequencies. Finding nothing at all makes him more uneasy.*
It''s like I''m in the box meant for Schroedinger''s Cat. And as I recall, it doesn''t end well for the cat.
*Switching back to thermal, he strides down the hall toward the other heat signatures*
** Exit Ashe to Guest Rooms 63**

*Tavin walks in from the library, his arms full of papers, some slipping his grasp and falling lazily to the floor. He makes his way to a table and sets them all down in a heap, sprinting back to pick up the paper trail left behind. He sits down, lets out a sigh, and starts reading through them, slowly*
Well.... this shouldn't take too long.

:::A short while passed, when Cora began to descend down the corridore leading to the main room. She too was carrying a healthy sized stack of books. When she reached the entrance way, she poked her head out quickly to see if anyone was there. Needless to say, someone was. But she'd only looked for a split second. Her heart pounded, and she thought...
It couldn't be...
She looked again, a little less hastily this time, and saw, for certian, Tavin. Her limbs responded instantly as they moved the rest of her body out into view. Her arms realized that they did not want to be holding the books anymore, and she dropped them with a grand thud at her boots.
Her face had gone expressionless, and her jaw hung open just slightly. Enough to let out the word... ::::
Captain...!
