::Clark doesn't say anything to Courtney. He turns and flies off to resume his patrol and to think. What to do about Corben and Linda...::
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meanwhile...at LexCorp's main office in Metropolis...
DAMMIT!
Lex?
*Mercy Graves was worried about her employer. Ever since Lex had tricked Grodd and the staff at Hero High with his ape virus, Lex had been working on the sample of Terrigen Mist sample that was delivered to him. He said it would be the key to destroying Hero High and the damned aliens they harbored. Aliens like Superboy. Lex was going to save the world from people with powers and aliens. He was a hero.*
Another failed trial, Mercy. I WILL unlock the key to the Terrigen Mists. I will.

He had been dragged by Hartley through the hallways, proving to him that everything was back in order. All of the teachers were busy at work grading, and when they'd passed Ms. Prince's room, she'd waved at them, smiling slightly.
It was then Wallace's turn to drag Hartley back to the dorm rooms. First he went to his own, grabbing a few hygiene items and some clothes, obviously planning to spend the night at Hartley's room. Billy would probably be in Teddy's bed, snoring away.
When he returned to Hartley's room, he set his things on the floor and sighed. "What happened to your hand?" It was the first time he noticed that Hartley's pinky looked weird, possibly broken. "Are you ok?"

Hartley was beginning to realize that perhaps, really, the danger was over. And as a result of that, his hand was beginning to hurt...badly.
"No, ow, I'm not!" Hartley's face went from neutral to surprised to agony. Why was it that the small injuries were the most painful?! And it was on his left hand...he was right-handed, yes, but it took two hands to flute and the left hand handled the high notes - essential for his particular brand of hypnosis.
"Coach Cage broke my hand! I don't believe this! As if it's not bad enough, all of the time and money that sports take away from the arts, now they have to rob me of my livelyhood, too?! Oh, my revenge will be swift and fierce and..."
Right. Broken hand.
"Will have to wait until my hand heals..."
Next on Hartley's mad criminal docket....invent a self-playing horn. He looked at Wallace with a sad sad face.
"Fix it?..."

"But...I don't understand."
Billy stammered as he stood in front of Daimon Hellstrom's desk in his personal magical chambers in the school. In his hands the student mage held his homemade Book of Shadows with a few papers atop of it with his own writing on it, fashioning odd arcane symbols.
Hands clasped, Daimon smirked. "What's not to understand Mister Kaplan? It's your exam results. You did surprisingly well for a freshman. One of your grade's top scores."
Billy looked down at the papers that bore the big, red 'B-' on it and felt nothing short of confusion. The last time he stood in Mister Hellstrom's classroom, he had been the subject of the teacher's humiliation and demeaning criticism. Hellstrom had called him one of the most incompetent students he had ever taught, and now...?
Hellstrom continued with a smile, "Granted your Grimoire is a bit...decorative for my tastes, but you were told to make it your own, so I have to give you a B for that as well. Your main problem is your focus and concentration, but you've shown you have your moments. Defeating a sorceress like Lyn? It was impressive Billy."
Billy blushed at the praise from the teacher. He was still confused, however. Hellstrom had said before that it had been a fuke. Whatever had happened to the teachers, must have made them act...mean?"
"Is something wrong?"
"No." Billy answered. "I just thought...you thought I, well...you know...sucked."
Daimon frowned.
"What in the world made you think that?"
Billy binked and hurriedly averted his eyes, shaking his head.
Daimon shook his head and waved a hand toward the door. "Go on now. Enjoy the rest of your day."
"O-Okay!" Billy smiled and he ran to the door, waving behind him. "Thanks!"
Billy opened the door and dashed outside, hoping to run into Teddy and tell him the good news.

Cassie walked around the campus in a daze when she finally found who she was looking for .... Raven.
" Rae! Hey wait up!"
Cassandra ran over to her.
" Is it for real? I mean is Trigon really gone?"
Raven gave Cassie a cold look and then disappeared in cloud of black smoke.

AWWWW. Hartley had such a cute little wibble wibble face. Wallace took Hartley's hand in his own, kissing the tip of his pinky. "I have a splint in my room. Broke my finger a little while back. It healed just fine." Once more, Wallace left Hartley's room to return to his own. Rummaging in his things, he found the splint with it's foamy blue innard and shiny silver outside. He got some sports tape from Teddy's gym bag, then returned to Hartley's room.
He headed over to his boyfriend, and he slid the splint in place. Very carefully, he wound the sports tape around it, securing it. "That should work. It's all the doctor did for me. And he told me not to wiggle it too much. Well, not to wiggle it at all. I'm going to take a bath now, and I brought my swim trunks so you could take one with me if you wanted."
Wallace went to his things, pulled out his trunks and headed into the bathroom. On his way past Hartley he kissed his cheek. "You smell...kind of like a Sno Ball."

That late afternoon.
"Let's speed this up." Barry Allen stood up in the faculty meeting, eliciting a laugh from the crowd. Barry was notoriously the slowest member of the faculty at doing, well, anything. "We've been without an official headmaster long enough. The complaints against Emma were legitimate, but Bruce having to shoulder all of the Headmaster duties without an official consensus among us teachers is unfair, both to Bruce and the students."
Barry was met with a round of agreeing nods from the teachers. Raven Darkholme stood up.
"I nominate Vandal Savage for Headmaster. His great grandfather started Hero High. He has a pedigree and understands the history of the school."
"I nominate Diana Prince. Her mother and herself BOTH attended Hero High. If historical significance is important, why not our History of Heroics expert?" Barry pointed at Diana, who blushed and nodded in acceptance. Emma also nodded her approval.
"Are there any other nominations?" No one else stood up. Emma waved a hand.
"Very well. I have telepathically gathered your votes. And the new Headmaster of Hero High is....Diana Prince."
Raven Darkholme scowled as Vandal Savage gritted his teeth. Diana rose gracefully as several teachers went to shake her hand. She walked to the podium.
"I do not want to turn this into a lecture. I am honored by your decision, and now, between trimesters, I will work with all of you on a new curriculum. As you all know, I had my disagreements in the past with Emma and her direction for the school, but I greatly value her experience and her consul. And so, I am naming Emma Frost my Vice Headmaster. Emma, do you accept?"
Frost nodded her head in agreement, and many in the faculty applauded. Diana continued speaking.
"I will tell you right now that there are two things I wish to change about Hero High, and I have discussed them both with you all in the past. I wish to alter our curriculum to encourage more individual action from the students. That means less teacher intervention. Yes, there will be fights. Yes, there will be 'adventures' that our students have that may not fit within a traditional school setting. But we are not a traditional school, and our students are nothing if not exceptional. We will encourage them to grow by standing back and letting them take their bumps and bruises along the way.
"Additionally, I wish to more actively pursue Hero High's Exchange Student program. Currently, the school only has two exchange students, and those are only from different countries. I have been reviewing applications for Hero High from many places, dimensions, planets, galaxies, time periods...and I feel that we can enrich every student's experience by an exchange program that reaches much further than ours does now. I am assigning Barry Allen and Hal Jordan to our new Exchange program. That is all for now."
Another round of applause followed Diana stepping down from the podium, and word began to travel around the school that, starting in a week for the new trimester, there would be a new attitude at Hero High.

Bart wandered around campus... He had just finished helping Zinda clean up Blackhawks. He sighed.. Bart...Iris wanted nothing more then to go back home to her own time, to her own friends. But she couldn't, the young speedster still had a mission. Bart was feeling a little peckish so he looked in his pockets and felt something, then took it out. There in his hand was the Hostess fruit pie Zinda bought for him a while ago as a thank you gift. Since the contest the tasty treats had become scarce yet Zinda found one and gave it to him of all people. Bart knew there was probably no chance of him winning but still he was feeling peckish so he opened the delicious pie only to find a bright shiny GOLDEN TICKET!
I've got a golden ticket I've got a golden twinkle in my eye

"I don't know if that's good or bad." Hartley tried to wiggle his finger, in vain. Ow.
"Ow."
He pulled his shirt off and undid his pants. He slipped into the shower behind Wallace. A cloud of steam slipped out of the shower as he closed the curtain behind him. He slipped his hands under Wallace's arms and rested his cheek on the nape of Wallace's back. His arms encircled the other boy, across his waist. He didn't worry about not getting the splint wet, he didn't care.
This was what he was fighting for earlier.
His hair fell on Wallace's shoulders as water fell on the two of them, washing away the day. He closed his eyes and didn't say a word.
Maybe this was what heroes felt like after a day of fighting the forces of evil...or maybe this was what a villain felt like when they got exactly what they wanted.

Teddy had lost sight of Billy, and he didn't really know quite where his boyfriend had gotten off to. Instead, he had gotten a good glimpse of the campus. The teachers were no longer attacking the students. Instead, they seemed to be ...doing teacherly things. Teddy landed near the building that housed Bruce Banner's office, and staying in his green skin, he headed into the building. Slowly, he made his way down the hallway, a knot building up in his stomach.
What would Bruce say? Would he reiterate that Teddy was just a failure? Would he apologize, creating an even more awkward moment? Teddy headed to his classroom, standing in the doorway, just waiting. Bruce looked up, "Are you ok Theodore?"
"...sir?"
"I'm asking ....because of your ...altered state."
Teddy shifted from foot to foot for a second.
"Theodore?"
"Uh...nevermind."
Mr. Banner didn't seem to acknowledge that anything had happened, and turning, Teddy left the classroom behind, heading back in the direction of his dorm room.
Something felt so weird about all of this.

Wallace's hands slid along Hartley's arms, resting at his wrists. Closing his eyes, he leaned back against Hartley. He didn't bother to reach for the soap, or any of that sort of thing. Right now, there was the safety of the moment. He was with the person he had wanted to protect most of all, and that was all that mattered to him.
Later, he'd tell him about the two golden tickets. Later, he'd kiss him like he promised himself he would. But for right now, this was all he needed. It was absolutely perfect.

Cassie walked around the campus uneasy... Raven didn't say Trigon was gone ... she didn't say he wasn't either. Cassie looked down... calm before the storm? Maybe...or maybe she was just paranoid. Cassie needed to find Wally... maybe he would understand... he knew Raven better then anyone. Cassie started towards the boys dorms.

"Have one big guy!"
The little boy mage Achilles had come to know as the Spaz (odd name for ... anyone, even in these times) had run by him and tossed what appeared to be some form of plastic wrapped pastry of some sort.
Achilles looked up to ask why it was addressed to Hostess which was not[.i] his name, but the little guy was already gone. Achilles looked back down at the glictening package and the pastry, a cupcake of some sort, just seemed to be calling out to that appetite of his as a sliver of sunlight shined down onto it through the branches of the tree he stood under.
Mouth watering and figuring 'what the hey', he pulled the wrapping off and as he was about to take a bite, he saw something flitter down on the ground. Bending at the knees to scoop it up, he saw that it was some form of ticket...in gold.

The next morning...
With some free days on the campus while teachers corrected finals and prepared for the next Trimester, new Headmistress Diana Prince finished moving herself into the Headmaster's office. Emma Frost was present, sitting in a chair facing Diana's new desk.
"I cannot say I won't miss the power, but I also cannot say I will miss the many, many frustrations you are about to shoulder, Diana."
Diana nodded at Emma.
"This is the first time in Hero High history that women are both Headmaster and Vice Headmaster, Emma. I hope that my experience, both as a hero and as an Amazon will serve the school well."
"Hm, quite." Emma nodded. "I see that you've got some interesting folders on your desk there."
"Ah yes, these are the exchange student folders I told you about. With a new trimester starting soon, I believe that it's time to approve some of these exchanges." Diana reached over and passed one to Emma. She flipped open the folder and started reading.
"This prospective student is...interesting. A prince from another galaxy."
"Yes, though if you continue reading, I think there will be some culture clash with that one. He comes from a very different race. I'm thinking of approving that one. This one, too."
Diana handed Emma another folder.
"This one is for a female student. She is also from another planet, and from the description, it is an almost Amazonian planet."
"Can't have enough Amazons running around, can we, Diana?"
"I'm going to ignore your sarcasm, Emma. Get used to that. I also have exchange requests from the past and the future. We already have Achilles, and although there's some temporal cleanup that has to be done, I think his being here has benefited both him and Hero High."
"The wrestling team certainly has benefited."
"The only other question that remains if we approve these exchanges, is which students to exchange for the new students."
"Hmm..." Emma raised an eyebrow, deep in thought. "I have a few suggestions, on that front..."
