i agree with you there ryuu, it's one of my least favorite things to do, especially when you get really good IV's and then a useless HP, like a sazandora with hp dragon or something, but for a lot of things it's almost necessary, especially for gym teams, when an HP is the only way to get a coverage move, or to allow your wild card pokemon to be eligible, my friend has a hail ice gym team, and he SR'd for a HP ice heatran as his wildcard to counter rock and steel

@narati, i've been doing it for a year or two now, and one of the clans/guilds i'm in i'm kind of the pokemon breeder, but HP breeding is something that i just got the hang of like 6 months ago

there is another way if you can get the hang of it, and a lot faster, RNG breeding, but that's something i can't do, except for shinies

@goofz, all changeable information of a pokemon is created through random number generator, or RNG, when you RNG pokemon you basically manipulate the in-game factors to make the random numbers not so random, the things you can RNG are IV's, Nature, Ability, Shininess, it can be done to the stationary legendaries also, but it's hard, at least for me to get the hang of, once you do though, you can RNG breed for a flawless shiny pretty fast

yeah the odds are just as bad as encountering them in the wild, 1/4000+, but if you use a foreign language pokemon with an english language ditto, it drops to 2000+, and if you RNG you can get a shiny within a few eggs if you do it right

yah, thats pretty much the way you go abou tit, I bred a HP fire exxegutor once ^.^ endup with one that had a power of 68 ^.^

also... @Lost, you do know there are multiple combo's for the same HP right? cause I know for a fact that you can get HP ICE with a 31 speed IV...

I think 30/30/30/31/31/31 is ICE? I might be wrong though... I just use Pokemon Online when I need to know what IVS I need for a HP now, since when you select it, it gives you the list of possible IV combintations, its VERY handy 3nodding
