Some of us tried wandering to Barton Towns the other day...3,000% Seems a little low.
Vansin just had a tournament thing. It was more a Risk type thing but it was somethin'.

That was indeed more of a Risk-esque event but, yeah.

It's weird. Not even upstart s**t's on the move. Just.. fur.

...Fur everywhere.

...Fur everywhere.

Don't forget the ticks.
I understand how the whole werewolf thing got popular (which was technically popular even before the Twilight bullshit), but what I don't get is everyone's recent fandom about RPing dogs.

I wish it was recent.

It's more that it's gotten so pervasive, you can't ignore it anymore. But it's existed here since '03 and long predates Gaia.

How about you?

Lol. I know what that's like - moved rather recently myself. It took 10 days.
Right now just sorta dabbling in things and listening to some creepy pastas.

As for the tournament, yes you may have missed this one, but we're hoping that we'll be able to set up a proper one in the future in the battle arena that we're setting up. Generally many in this guild are willing to spar if you wanna give that a go.

Probably should to test the build, at some point, for right now (this evening, I am indulging in the start of shark week.

Sorry bro I had to crash on my end. It was the AM for me lol

Hey, our guild is trying to capture peoples' first impressions, and so if you don't mind, what were your first impressions? Was there anything that you don't see that you think would work in our benefit to have? Anything you're really impressed with?

Not that this is my first time here, but there a couple of major points that are worth mentioning.

The roleplay itself is perhaps what I might call confusing, there is not a clear way of joining, and the division of the planes makes it difficult to jump in and get involved with a character who is not native to that plane.

Second, there is not a clear world view. I always assumed that the world was earth, and its respective heaven and hell. But that makes it difficult to understand where the character you might want to play could fit in.

For instance if I wanted to play a dark elf blade wizard, I would find myself hard pressed to fit it in.

We have been working on the prospect of making it easier to join with several ideas, but for now we just have the NPCs we have in place which we can use in case of new characters. I can definitely concur that for a new comer it would come off as rather hard to make heads or tails over.

As far as clear world view, I suppose it's because we don't completely want there to be. I mean, we want some people to native and have their own opinions should they be native of Hell, Heaven or Earth. Meanwhile, those who are from outside of those realms of time and space, retain their own perspective on the realms of this HvH. So, just how nations in our world view themselves as the center of their world, we like the prospect of someone from Heaven thinking they are center of the realms, but someone from Hell disagreeing. If that makes sense?

Regarding the aspect of being a dark elf, I can certainly agree. HvH is open to anyone and everyone, but it would certainly be hard to explain how a dark elf was on this Earth when it's only Humans and Heaven and Hell are predominately Angels and Hellions. Honestly, this isn't something that really occurred to me before. I suppose it's just because it hasn't really stopped many of our players. GalaxyCommander has a char from the future, but wound up in this reality by accident. RabidSmurf's char is part "Ritter" which is a species I came up with for an RP of mine a long time ago, where he had started the character Wyndom. Wound up here as well. Of course, I can understand that many would never have the abilities necessary to jump the realms themselves.

In summary, thank you for the feedback XD

On that note, do you need any help getting involved?
PostPosted: Mon Jul 06, 2015 10:56 am

Not a clear way of joining? Is it so hard to pick a group and walk up to them? Isn't that what you do in any other RP when you join it. You just make a post near someone/walking towards someone and go with it. I don't see why our RP would be any different.

The division of the planes was done to make it easier to keep track of what is going on in each respective area easier. As well as helping prevent posts from getting lost. If everything was in a single thread in an RP that spans multiple planes, as ours does, if activity dropped for a group and activity rose for a different group you would end up having to search god knows how many pages to find the last few posts for your group. This makes it so that doesn't happen unless you have a really active and really inactive group in a single plane.

*points at Earth thread* It is Earth and its respective Heaven and Hell. Although since I took over Hell I've steered it away from the biblical fire and brimstone that it once was so that more than just demons can easily ally themselves with it. That being said, most characters can fit in anywhere. Would a demon working in Heaven be a common place thing, no. Can it happen, I don't see why not.

If you find yourself hard pressed to fit in somewhere that is solely based on you and the subconscious limits your placing on a character.

That was awfully defensive. Not you phantom.

Let me make a few more notes to clarify some of what I see and listed as problems.

First, there is not a clear, or accessible way to transition between realms as best I have seen.

The reason this is a problem, is that story lines which exist wholly in one plane or another are exclusionary.

You asked me why it would be difficult for me to just walk up and join a given event. How do I explain moving between earth and heaven, or heaven and hell, without a clear existing mechanic for doing so.

Now, I could pull off some chicancery, and write up an excuse for how it happened, but that would be staged and come off as forced.

If the setting has limits on travel, races, or expectations on the player, they should be clearly listed for reference.

Edit:
Now perhaps I have a world view issue, but the descriptions I have seen actually describe them as though they were different places within the same universe.

But maybe you intended for heaven, hell, and the core reality, to all exist on one planet. Where you step across a veil which represents a boundary between levels of existence, an example of this would be the movie Mists of Avalon, where the island of avalon exists a step sideways from the island on which the nunnery is built. Technically they occupy the same physical location, but they exist, in different states of existence.
