Don't tell me that little bit of snow kept school closed. Even for the States, I won't believe it. Unless it happened to Hiraru.

We've gotten a total of 40 inches in the past 6 days. They deemed the roads "beyond perilous," and the governor put us in a state of emergency. It was pretty bad yesterday with more than 10 inches falling and blow around on the roads.

It would have to be twice that for us to declare it anything more than a 'huge blizzard'. We got 40 inches last Thursday overnight, and school opened again at noon Friday. I think we would be ashamed if we called that an emergency. No offence.

But was that with 50 mph wind? The problem really was that the average amount of snow fall we get a year is like 10 in. so naturally we don't have the preemptive measures or ready supplies to deal with it.

We had 90 km/h winds that day. I don't know what that is in miles. My Dad said the storm was worse than the one that sunk the Ocean Ranger. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=97166&l=de2d2bafde&id=510972443I think that will work...That picture was taken two days after the storm I was telling you about. That's my Dad in the picture. We had maybe three inches of snow on the ground already before that hit.

That's not much taller than the snowbanks in front of our house. And the best part is we're supposed to get more snow on tuesday! xd The governor's probably going to get PTSD from all the snow. He looked exhausted on the press conference yesterday, so this obviously wasn't treating him well..

That stinks. At least snow is pretty to look at. Freezing rain, not so much.

All Hail the Reign of the Ostriches! Let it hereby be announced that:The snow we got = the most snow MD has had in recorded history. And more is coming. The state is not prepared for that, so it can't deal with that as readily as somewhere that gets much more snow than us. ...that is all
