Elrohir sighed to himself and did as Lin requested, lifting her up and setting her on the table in front of her plate (which was about the same size as she was).
"This is highly irregular," he mumbled, though he could understand why she needed to sit up higher.

"Well, when I get to regular height I won't ask to be put on the table anymore," Lin replied back looking to see who would be at the dinner table this time.
Though she figured she would be long gone before that happened, but she was sure she would come back, to play of course. If for no other reason than to try and go up the mountain again.

"And just what is regular height for you?" Elrohir questioned as their breakfast was brought in. They were the only two in there so far, but let it never be said that an Aldrich or a guest was ever forced to wait for their meal.
But seriously, what could be regular height for her? She was bloody tiny - but how old?

"Uhm...." Lin thought about it.
To her regular height was being able to reach up to the table at least, but...
"Do you mean like when I can reach up to a table or when I'm all grown up?" she finally asked him.

"I mean when you're all grown up," Elrohir nodded. "How big do you think you'll end up being?"
He noticed that a tiny set of dishes had been brought in, already laden with food, for Lin, the perfect size for her, both dishes and portions. He arranged it in front of her on the table before turning to his own breakfast.

"Taller than Mommy," Lin replied back, "At least I think so, since Trisha, Yue, Yukito, Feng and Ryu are all taller than Mommy, and Feng and Ryu are not grown up yet... well Kali isn't, but Kali is only a kid."
She took a deep breath because that was a long explaination and she needed to be able to breath before she could eat. Lin grinned at the food set before her, perfect.

"I ... see," Elrohir murmured. Obviously there were far more of them than there had been the last time he had had a long conversation with one of the Winters family, but he wasn't going to question it. After all, he knew from his first encounter with them all those years ago that Kara adopted quite a bit.

"Yup! I want to be as tall as Yue and Yukito!" she annouced.
She sat down indian style before she began using her knife and fork to eat, she used them properly only because she had been watching, even though at times it was a bit akward. Kara had always made food that were for fingers rather than for knife and fork. Though Lin had tried on several occasions to spear something with a chopstick.

Elrohir watched Lin with interest as he ate. It was a curiosity for him, first of all because he had never seen anyone so small, and second because he could hardly imagine how interesting it would be to have to take bites as small as she had to.
Well, and if it came right down to it, he had to admit that she was a cute kid and just plain friendly.

She chewed and swallowed wondering what adventures would hold for today. Probably more listening to lessons, real pity she couldn't really train yet.
"What do you do with your day?" she finally asked Elrohir.

"Different things," Elrohir replied, swallowing his mouthful of food. "Sometimes I do errands around the castle, sometimes in the city, sometimes I travel to different places, and sometimes I just find things to do myself. There's always something to do."
He picked up his cup and took a long drink. "Though today I'm not sure what I'll be doing. I'll have to ask Nako first. I did just get back yesterday, after all, so I'm not quite sure what's been happening here."
He looked at Lin through half-lidded eyes. "A lot, apparently."

That just sounded so.... random to Lin. Even Lin who had spare time and lots of it, at least had a bit of a scheulde, even now when she was in a different world.
"Did a lot happen?" she questioned ignorately.
She didn't realize she was part of the 'lot'.

He looked down at her, pretending ignorance. "I don't suppose you would know anything about it."

Lin blinked up at him, she was the only unexpected guest of course, and to a point she knew it too.
"Was it really that unexpected? I guess it was," she smiled, "I'm a Surprise for a reason."
Nina giggled under the table, since she got that pun right off the bat.

Elrohir chuckled, and he would have ruffled her hair - much as he did to his nephews and niece - but she was so tiny he was scared of crushing her. Instead, he just laughed at her.
"Well, you certainly were a surprise to me," he agreed. "Yesterday - and today both."
