...and that's why Zell wished he knew what he had been supposed to say. And it wasn't lying... well, except for attributing it to magic usars. Which in a way wasn't entirely incorrect for there were the magics that killed and then revived Maryline therefore 'putting her in his time' not to mention the magics that put him on Gaia... and with moomba parts. It was just... extrapolating a bit. In all... it wasn't much different than he would have told Headmaster Cid or Squall -Except that he would probably have said it his way first before being told to repeat it proper. To let the king think they were communicating through writing... well he'd only have to see Zell's penmanship once to know that probably hadn't been the case. With his writing... well it was unlikely Zell would impress anyone much less get them 'besotted' for him. His writing was likely only endearing to someone already enamored. Crush at least.
He'd have to ask what 'treachory' meant. because though it almost sounded like 'treachery' Zell had a feeling that wasn't the case.
Stay the night? Sure. No problem. Huh. Zell wondered if time moved the same here as it did at home. Sometimes that was the case, other times it wasn't. Usually it was the same but... well 'usually's weren't 'always's for a reason. He nodded, with another excellent salute. "Yes sir. Your Majesty. Thank you."
Zell looked back at him, not really sure what to do. Was he dismissed? He was certainly trying not to be quelled by the king's force --but it was not as a king that Maryline's father's presence was making him nervous.

>>Maryline fell into a curtsy, her hands flowing out beside her since she long ago figured out there wasn't enough material in the blue dress<< We shall retire for the night. May you wake to see another sunrise... >>He bowed his head, both to accept Zells gratitude and his daughters courtesy. He had much to think of tonight<< May Arigon watch over your soul... >>She straighened with a faint smile, and placed a delicate hand on zells shoulder to lightly guide him out of the room. She wasn't going to a guest room, but they were going into a room<< Princess Sang? >>She froze, in the doorway. The female peeked out<< Aye M'lord? A moment alone? Sir Dincht may wait in the corridor >>he folded his hands ontop of the desk<< Aye M'lord... >>Maryline flashed a small smile at the fist fighter before stepping back, her hands on the door<< I shall be back in a moment. >>She whispered to him before shutting the carved doors<< Does something ail you Father? Thy Daughter ails me. >>He spoke quietly, kindly eyes lifting onto her. She seemed...thinner. Softer. Six months had taken their toll on her body<< Sir Dincht...is not Lord nor Prince...is he dear Lady? >>She stiffened slightly. Even as a memory...her father had a quicker mind then she gave credit to. She shook her head<< Nay m'lord... >>He nodded, hearing what he already knew. He softly sighed<< Are you so besotted with him? Aye m'lord... >>Her voice was soft now, even as her eyes remained steady on him. She had to be strong in this<< I am. This creates quite the dulcarnon, as you are aware. Aye m'lord... >>it was best not to argue in this situation<< >>Another soft sigh, shaking his great head<< Still but a child...We shall discuss more upon sunrise. You have pardon to leave. >>She bowed her head, and started to turn. Her stomach was taunt with the child statement. She still had work to do to become the perfect princess...so much work left. But instead of walking out, she turned once more, and walked towards him. His head lifted slightly, and she bent down. Ever so lightly, ever so softly, she pressed her lips to his cheek. Only on the surface, not a hair too much or too little, right on the image. She didn't feel a thing...but she knew he was there<< Goodnight m'lord... >>He actually smiled, a small smile, but a smile, and nodded his great head<< Goodnight Princess Maryline. >>He watched as she left his presence, closing the door behind her once more<<

At Maryline's curtsy Zell realized it likely had been. A bit of a bow and he was more than glad to let Maryline's touch guide him. oh man...
Zell nodded, flashing Maryline what was intended as a reassuring grin before the doors were shut behind him. Alone in the corridor the SeeD relaxed with a released breath, stepping to the side of the doors and leaning against the wall there. His arms folded behind his head as he looked up. Hyne... there was probably a million ways he'd messed up and didn't even know it. Hard to follow his own mantra to 'don't sweat it' in this case. Zell sighed. Hologram or no... he really wanted to make a good impression on Maryline's pops. Only... how did stand a chance to do so when the guy probably had to deal with tons of people trying to impress him day in & day out?
The completely unintentional way he had miraculously earned Princess Maryline's love was likely not going to cut it with her pops. Even if he could somehow recreate it.
He sighed, mind wondering to wonder if it was Renascibilitas here in this place, this time, as well.

>>She stepped into the quiet hallway, the chandaliers now lit with the occasional window showing the blackness of night. It basked the corridor in a warm glow, however once out, the princess merely stood there. Her gaze was vacant, head slightly tilted down as the meeting played and replayed in her mind. And slowly, very slowly, she closed her eyes, and smiled<< Even in memory, he calls me child. >>She turned to the fistfighter before giving a bit of a baby step towards him, and resting her head upon his shoulder. She exhaled, and inhaled to feel his scent<< I am uncertain...to how I should be feeling. Sir Din...Zell... >>She turned her face moreso towards the ground, her body relaxing slowly<< What should I be feeling?

Letting out a low breath Zell didn't yet look at her, his gaze still on the ceiling. A bit of smile quirked his lips hearing Maryline's words. Still he didn't look at her, even as her dear body drew closer and he felt her head on his shoulder though he did move his arms from behind his head to wrap around her and lightly pull her a bit closer. Just gentle and comforting. Lightly he chuckled, his nervousness for what had just happened coming through now. "I dunno. At least he didn't order me beheaded, so personally I'm kinda relieved."
One hand moved up to lightly stoke her hair. "Sorry, 'Line. Laughing in the dark and all. Know this has to be like a million times harder on ya and I wish I had all the right things to say & do to make it easier. Don't sweat it, 'kay? Sure... this isn't real real -but it's more than most people who've lost someone get. Better than a photo album or even a home movie. One thing I noticed... it's clear he loves ya."

>>Feeling his arm around her, she willingly drew closer, slowly moving her arms to wrap around him. She buried her head into his shoulder<< Normally...he likes to verbally strip a man before throwing him to the dungeons to wait for his execution...He enjoys letting them put up their case and then dismanteling it piece by piece. >>Her father...ultimately was a cruel man. A wicked smart and fair man, but a cruel angle on things with an iron fist<< Better then a photo album... Does a book of history count? >>She never wanted to do this again. In a way, all it was...was decieving herself<< I never was able to say goodbye...I never was able to hold the death ceremony... >>Maryline quietly exhaled, simply holding onto him, soaking up whatever spare strength he had to offer<< He died the same night as I...The moment I found him lying still...I had sought out Mujaki for comfort. >>Her chest was tightening again. Deep breath<< When I awoke next, I was in a tomb.

Zell gave a shiver at the mental images that provoked. "hehe... maybe he likes me?"
He only brought his head down, chin barely touching hers as he shook his head about a history book counting. History books were notorious for not telling anything about a person. Like most obituaries.
Speaking of obituaries. A chocked sound came from him and his arms around her tightened. Protective. Supportive. Reassuring. Comforting. His cheek upon her golden hair. "Hyne, 'Line! oh Hyne!" Zell wanted to kiss her so much to make it all go away for her but he resisted. That would not help her heal in the long run & somehow, he knew it. "Maryline... 'Line... you can't hold that against yourself. It'll eat ya up inside." Like he was trying not to let what she said eat him up inside. But he couldn't just 'shake it off' just yet. maybe ever. They'd loved each other and that was that. And guilt was forming... because if it hadn't happened He never would have met Maryline. Of course... he never would have known what he was missing either. Even if for some odd reason he picked up a history of Dreia, a description of the princess would have told him so very little.
"Line... Ya couldn't have known. Ya couldn't have known any of it! Maryline... Maryline... maybe when you say goodbye tomorrow it can ease some of that. Or whenever we go back. Doesn't have to be tomorrow if ya don't want."

>>A shuddering breath, his reaction reflecting just how horrible she was denying it was. She nuzzled into his shoulder, shaking her head<< I...I understand...that it is not of my fault...I only wish...that I could have. I wish...at least to see the preparations...Burying the dead is the highest insult upon death...it robs the deceased a chance to meet with Arigon, and forever chains their soul to their body to lay in waiting. >>Slowly, ever so slowly, she pulled her face back to look up at him. Her face was soft, very soft as the layers upon layers of masks fell away. With Zell...and only Zell...would she do this with. Because he'd accept her, no matter what she was<< One day...I shall see if he was buried...and should he be...one day, I shall burn him. I know not if Arigon shall take his soul now...however, perhaps he shall hold mercy. >>She shifted her wait up then onto her tip toes, raising her lips to his. The female stopped a half a centimeter away, uncertain of herself to break the chasity that had settled since they had left the fistfighters room. She lowered herself slowly again<< Come...we have one last place to visit for the night.

"We can check as soon as we get back. See it done right." The SeeD said emphatically, meeting her gaze with determination and love. With all the research they'd collected on Dreia for Maryline's protection, surely something would be said about the burial of the King. Her sweet heart shaped face... unfettered by the masks she had to or felt she had to wear. He loved her so damn much...
Zell felt his heart catch seeing her shift her weight. She'd kiss him, outside her father's study? The motion to start moving him so much he didn't even mind when she didn't go through with it -that she started to said so much.
He nodded, bringing one finger to lightly trace around her lips. Burying the dead an insult... and she had woke in a tomb. Zell didn't like to think about it. "One more place? 'kay. Ley's go then." A flash of his boyish smile. "So where to?"

>>She slowly nodded, her hands slowly slipping across his waist to take his hands. She took a step back<< You shall see, my dear Zell. >>She started to walk down the hall now, gently leading the male with her before she was tempted to kiss him for real. They moved further down into the hall, the candles casting gastly shadows. She was quiet of course, whether from habit or lack of words to speak, she wasn't even certain of. At last however, they came to another carved door. One of crashing waves upon the rocks below in an almost thunderous display...She reached out with a hand to lightly touch upon the doorhandle. Her private bedchambers<<

Surprisingly enough, Zell remained quiet as well though usually -like Selphie- it was as if he ran on some 'nature abhors a silence' theory. Really it was that usually it bolstered him or settled him or brought him up or some other such thing. It didn't seem right however, so aside from a softly teasing "fine, don't tell me" Zell just smiled -more reassuring than his usual cheer or playfulness.
He 'spoke' more in the way he held her hand. Claiming, supportive, loving, hugging. Zell said so much in the strong but gentle way he held it, squeezed it, & slid his thumb across the back of it.
Then he saw the waves. Water crashing down, frozen in time. His eyes widened at the sheer awesomeness of it. Water.... he turned to Maryline with those wide eyes. She had said Water for the King's study & her own bedroom, right? "Maryline..."
His tenor voice a question, pitched low. Hologram, memory imprint -whatever it was her father had said 'guest room' for him. Unless she just wanted to show him her bedroom? But at the same time... Zell was hoping that this meant she would soon be in his arms, and perhaps they would be kissing.

>>Her fingers played with the handle, almost as if thinking if she should open it, gaze gentle. 'Maryline...'<< I could easily show you to the guest rooms...However I know not if I would be leaving them 'til sunrise...As it is...I do not know if I can withstand to be alone here...Yet the last time I indulged in outside comfort, awoke many a year later. >>She pulled down on the handle, and swung one of the two carved doors open. Inside, candles were already lit, smelling of the sweet spices of spain. It was an expensive bedroom, the very one of Princess Maryline Dorise Sang. Their feet again sunk into the lusheous blue-green carpet, the slightly domed ceiling high above their heads, covered with a single painting depicting wonderful Dreia accomplishments, a crystal chandalier hung down a few feet from that ceiling on a gold chain. The baby-blue walls had masterfully made pictures, tastifully hung on them and the large bed to the right of them were made with silken sheets and satan covered pillows, both the lightest shade of purple. And on the far wall was a sliding glass door leading to a beautiful flowered balcony, over looking out to the forest behind the castle, streatching out far and wide. One could notice however, was the absense of...things. There was the bed...a dresser...a desk and mirror, with a filled book case. To the side of the bed was a plain door leading into the closet, while directly opposite of the bed was another door for her grand bathroom. But no stuffed animals nor games nor beauty products beyond a brush and the mirror. Such things would be over indulgent, and childish of her to possess. She slowly turned towards zell, one hand still on his as she took two steps back into her room<< Can I trust you?

((*rereads last post* ... maybe I shouldn't type when I'm that tired... *pokes last sentance* or was Zell really thinking that? O_O))
The last time you indulged in outside comfort... here. Zell's voice caught in his throat, and the thought wasn't voiced. Anytime he had given her comfort to indulge in, still would probably not be as desperately needed as that first time she had given in to her humanness -when grieving for the live of the man they had just left. A concession that resulted in the loss of her own life by a man she both trusted and loved. Hell of a miracle Maryline could ever come to trust or love again... except that she did not believe Mujaki at fault. Just thoughts, with sadness for all Maryline had to go through.
"Always..." Zell said softly, tenor voice emotionally husky and very warm. His hand caressed hers within its warmth. Zell stood as if to welcome her into his arms if she wanted even as he was ready to be led at the same time, surprisingly however not pulling her into his arms as he clearly wanted. Giving Maryline a few moments to be sure (again) or to have a chance to make the move before he did. "Always, Maryline. I love you." A sweet and loving smile just for her and then Zell gave a quick glance around the room to take it in. Zell looked back & smiled gentle and warm at the woman he loved. "It suits ya."
((confused... I thought she had to go far far away to get to the ocean to swim with the dolphins for her 16th birthday? O_o or... is the ocean visible outside her window too cold for dolphins or something?))

OOC: o.o I was just like.... do do dooooo! And dang it...you're right. No wonder I found it off. Something -whether it be Maryline or a nagging thought- was pinching me about that but I ignored it. With so many rp's sweatdrop tis hard to keep up with who says what where when and the times. You can also see I was a bit loopy cause I said sunlight glinting off XDD when its night. Fixed now though...I think.
BIC: >>She softly blushed, stepping back one more foot to pull him in with her<< The room of a princess... >>Always Maryline...always...Though a firm believer that it wasn't mujaki's fault...he had loved her too. She took a step towards zell, lowering their hands<< On Renascibilitas...it was a custom to kiss everyone who entered the room...However, it became quite the predicament for large balls. So it was shortened, to fit moreso with the current customs...Now whenever a bell or chime sounds...you must kiss the closest person on the degree of how you feel about them. Such as a kiss on the hand for stranger, and one on the cheek for friend. It is a representation to show your love for your fellow Man.

With a soft chuckle and a grin Zell let himself be pulled. Very willingly. "yeah..."
"oh really?" Hazel-blue eyes sparkled and his eyebrows waggled at Maryline as he stepped across the distance between them and comfortably encircled her in his arms. "Every bell or chime? Whyn't you tell me sooner?" Teasing lightly, remembering the grandfather clock at home and the chimes today here. Zell thought. Quickly. The next one was not for 20 minutes, going off the timings of them as they had been throughout the 'tour' that wasn't a tour. Too long to wait. Too long by far.
Arms around her he reached up his sleeve for his watch. A few buttons pressed and Zell gave his princess an impish grin, eyes sparkling with mischief. "Good thing we're alone then? 'cause... to show ya -certainly not 'proper' 'round others." A pleasant but waking little chime went off at his wrist and Zell grinned. Just before his lips sought Maryline's and he kissed her with such tenderness, love, and passion with an intent to make her legs buckle from beneath her even as Zell prepared to catch her when -not 'if'- it happened.
