The thing is... ni my school, our chirs are based on what year you are in. Our 1st chair horn is a sophmore, but I'm better than he is as a freshman. If it was based on skill, I'd have it since the other horns are about as good as the sophmore.

We only have two horns at our school anyway. Only one who plays, that being me. So I'm first chair by default.

I'm not first chair because I just started this year, but all the other have ahd at least another year of practice then I am, but I way better then many of them. I'm almost in last chair, but I could have been higher but the abnd director put me there because I was a newbie!

You know, I've olny met two other horn players online. Ever.
So this is pretty awesome.
I'm olny in 7th grade [so I feel inexperienced sweatdrop ], and I play in concert band. There's olny one other horn player in our band, and we pretty much agreed he should be 1st horn. I'd be ready for it next year [he's in 8th grade], so that's a good thing.
I hope that when I go to high school I can make it into marching and jazz band, and yes I do know that would leave me with little time to do much else.
So yeah. Hi... xd

I wanted to be in Jazz band, but my old school had a "no horn jazz players" but my NEW school LOOOOOOOOOOVES jazz horn players. Yay!

I'm not sure if I've ever really heard Jazz with Horn...I might have. I've never played Jazz on Horn before...unless you count three weeks of basketball band music...

could someone please inform my BD of this so-called jazz horn? i want to be in jazz band but my BD says there's no such thing a a jazz horn...i want to prove him wrong...

you should bring hima recording of one that sounds amazing...cause then he has to believe you, or you could show him up and play it in his face

I'm fourth chair due to senority. But that'll change next year when the rest of the section graduates. And I'm going to be section leader for mellophones. :]
