Reno would stare at the hybrid and give a few nods as he drank in the information he was being offered. "Alright, so whatever this presence was trying to do, it couldn't manage to alter your thoughts. It just amplified your anger and frustration at your friend not being fully honest with you from the start. Good to know those mushrooms only have a limited effectiveness against a naturally resistant hybrid." Reno said, moreso for himself to remember it than anything for Mateo. So Mister Mushroom was at least somewhat older, had some link to the Dark One and the Ziton, and was most likely a Bug channeler. All good details to keep in mind. Taking a moment before he spoke again, Reno would look towards Matteo. "Maybe extend your classmate some slack? While he lied about his Pokemon, it was probably so he could fit in with the rest of you and not end up ostracized for starting with such strong Pokemon. Once he recovers from this ordeal and if he comes back to the Academy....maybe extend the olive branch. I'm sure Tristen would appreciate it."

-----

Beau would nod along as he heard Tsuki speaking. "Yeah, Dondozo. And its little live-in buddy, Nagiri......I dont think thats the right name but Im hungry and it looked like sushi." Beau said, looking towards his pack and digging out an Oran Berry he had stashed inside to begin munching on. While he didn't feel like he had much more to offer, there was a lot of interesting conversations going on and he was needing all his attention to focus and be able to figure out what exactly was going down. Especially since he could visibly see Reno stiffen up as he finished his statement to the Fire hybrid when the words Dark One came up from Tsuki. That had to mean something interesting might be found there.

"Oh! Where are the Herba Mystica!?" Raifort shouted as she stared at Sol, suddenly remembering something very important. "We collected them...didn't we?" She asked the hybrid, slightly unsure if her memory was holding true. "If we did I...I know I don't have any. I gave them away to...someone...?" The teacher said, staring off into space as she tried to piece her memory together but it was no good, all she could recall was having Herba Mystica and giving them away. "...I can't remember." She admitted.

Looking to Aile for a second she began to pat herself down, looking for something but not finding it. "Go to my classroom and you'll find the Scarlet Book there. I don't know how I came to obtain it, if I had to guess the person that did all this to us gave it to me and made me forget. You might be able to find a clue in it."

"The Dark One..." Eri responded to Tsuki, saying the name in a whisper as if afraid to say it too loud. Pausing for a second after saying the name she sigh and then spoke again. "I don't know anything about it. That name was just planted in my mind it felt like, just suddenly there. That and to fear the Dark One, that his arrival is intimate...and yet I felt...excited? I don't know how you can be fearful of someone but excited by their arrival, but that's what I was made to feel." She explained to Tsuki.

Matteo would listen to Reno, nodding along until he brought up Tristen, the young hybrid immediately dropping his head in shame, no longer wanting to make eye contact with the grown-up. "I know..." He said in a quiet ashamed tone. "You're a Snagem...right? Tristen is too. Could you tell him I'm uh..." Matteo started to say before looking around nervously, then proceeding to stand up and make eye contact with Reno one last time. "I got to go." And with that he quickly walked out of the room, not finishing his request to Reno but the implication was clear, the boy just couldn't bring himself to say it though.

Tristen started down the path on the way to Los Platos.

As Tristen walked down the designated pathway from Mesagoza to Los Platos he would find his surroundings familiar by now, a quaint little area teeming with peaceful Pokemon. The area itself was as safe as the wilds could get but the path he was one was the safest, as long as he stuck to it no Pokemon would bother him or give him a second look.

Making his way past a couple of trees he would spot some Hoppip hanging out, no breeze currently to give them lift. Going further he'd come across one of the small ponds around here, a pair of Surskit dancing across the top. Even further, out in the middle of the circular path he was on he'd spot a herd of Lechonk, happily munching on grass, a Sunkern startled out of the tall grass by the pigs causing it to hop away. Any of these Pokemon would make for a safe challenge if he so chose to engage in battle with them.

Aile frowned as she listened to Raifort talk about how the Herbas were given away. "And you can't remember their face..." She sighed, not blaming the woman. Even if inadvertently, it was still her fault that this happened in the first place. Then she was asked to go grab the Scarlet Book for said teacher. "Yeah, no problem." She nodded at Tati, who got out of the doorway, then followed her trainer up once she left the Nurse's Office. Once she got there, Aile would her over to Raifort's desk, rummaging through drawers if she needed to to retrieve the book. As long as it was still there. Aile could believe that this 'Mister Mushroom', as Reno deemed them, might have had a student take the book while all the chaos was happening.

As Tristen carried Sprigatito down the path, the Sprigatito constantly looked around, taking in the newfound scenery, the wide-open peaceful expanse as opposed to the cold, occasionally dark halls of the headquarters. Tristen took notice to Sprigatito’s wonder, laughing a little bit, giving the grass cat a few strokes on its head. Tristen would see the Pokémon that were about, contemplating maybe giving Wimpod another go at battling, or maybe let some of the others cut loose like Litten or Rookidee to make up for a little bit of lost time with those two. And the Pokémon that he was seeing, at least it wasn’t the likes of Shroodle or the Paldean Wooper, so poison won’t be too much of an issue. Even if it was, he did have a couple of lum berries that he could use. As Tristen strayed a bit off the path, trying to see if his very presence was enough to antagonize some of these Pokémon. Perhaps the Lechonk, more than likely. They did seem a bit temperamental that he could recall when he was trying to train Spewpa.

“Here, Sprigatito, sit tight for a second.” Tristen said, sitting Sprigatito down for a second by him, then took out a Pokeball. “Rookidee!” Tristen called out, tossing the Pokeball out. In a flash, Tristen’s Rookidee emerges from the ball. Tristen admittedly hadn’t trained Rookidee too much, perhaps as much as he trained Wimpod, incidentally, before Tristen’s trip here to the academy the first time. Tristen ended up realizing that Rookidee is a pretty evasive bird, though, considering that it managed to hang on for a little while against the flock of Wattrell at the beach. Tristen figured maybe it was about time to pay a bit more attention now. Now it was the matter if the Lechonk wanted to have a go at it.

The Lechonk perked up as soon as Rookidee came out and announced its presence. As soon as the pigs turned around to see the source of the noise they would run, taking off squealing, startled by the bird and its strange looking trainer. One Lechonk however did not run, the biggest of the bunch (which wasn't all that big for a Lechonk). It would stand its ground snorting and pawing at the ground before it rushed towards Tristen, head lowered as it charged in with a Tackle attack. It couldn't hit the flyer so instead it aimed for the next available target, largely hoping it could scare them away. Lechonk weren't exactly fighters.

Aile would rummage around Ms. Raifort's desk, finding all sorts of papers, writing instruments, and other 'office items' like paper clips. However try as she might to find the Scarlet Book, on top the desk or in the draws, she would keep coming up empty handed. As she went through the things she might note the desk was rather messy, way too messy for someone as no nonsense as Ms. Raifort, also when one considered how neat and tidy the rest of the classroom was. Did someone already come through here for the book? Was her hunch about 'Mr. Mushroom' correct?

After looking around for awhile more, maybe even going to examine some of the other bookshelves were educational literature was kept, a voice would call out to Aile from just in front of the door to the classroom. "Looking for this?" The voice asked. As Aile turned towards the source of the voice she would spot Barbara, Ms. Raifort's student aid, the white haired young woman holding up an old red tome decorated with golden accents. It was the Scarlet Book, just a quick glance could confirm that. Barbara said nothing else, just stood there holding it up in front of her, smiling.

Tristen stared in confusion for a second as the hog that stood its ground decided to ignore Rookidee and instead decided to go straight for Tristen. Tristen hopped a couple of steps to the side to avert the tackle attack. “Ah, yea…makes sense.” Tristen said. The wild swine would surely try again, Tristen figured, so might as well get this battle started full swing. “Rookidee, use Fury Attack!” With a acknowledging cry, the Rookidee fluttered off past Tristen and after the Lechonk, swooping down towards the pig. Rookidee went in on trying to peck away at the swine as much as it could with Tristen watching close how Rookidee tends to handle itself. Mental notes for later as to how to train this bird. This was going to be a whole other thing to work with as opposed to Xatu.

At the first peck Lechonk would come to a sliding stopped, ending its Tackle prematurely. As the bird began its flurry of pecks the pig would let out a squeal and begin to run in the opposite of direction with its head lowered for a different reason, trying to get away from the bird that seemed to give chase as it carried out its Fury Attack. Deciding that flight wasn't working the Lechonk decided to resort back to fight.

"Chonk chonk CHONK!!" It oinked loudly as it stopped running but kept its head lowered to protect its eyes, that was until it let out the last oink, throwing its head up into the air, and with the oink came a sound wave infused with Normal energy, the Lechonk using Echoed Voice. The oink would echo out across the grassland causing a flock of Fletchling perched in a tree a ways in front of Tristen to fly off.

Tristen ended up wincing and covering his ears and Rookidee ended up fluttering about just in a struggle to stay in the air from the massive echoing wail that violated its hearing. In retrospect, it was probably a no wonder why Fela imagined Gloria every time she ended up battling Lechonk herself. Quite the loudmouths they were. Rookidee flopped down onto the ground, practically trembling a little bit from the attack. "Rookidee! If you can still hear, try using Hone Claws!" Tristen commanded. Rookidee shook its head then started to try to focus, psyching itself up. Tristen was going to try to make the next attack a bit more critical than before.

The Lechonk, while successful in warding off its attacker for the time being, would not cease all its noise making. Its high pitched oink would turn down in volume for awhile, turning into more of a low but audible squeal as it was keeping itself pumped, adrenaline running high. As Rookidie began to psych itself up with its Hone Claws the Lechonk would continue to squeal, said squeal getting louder and louder as it stomped its feet, the squeal turning into a loud oink yet again. "Chonk chonk CHONK!!" It oinked with tremendous volume yet again, releasing a Normal energy empowered sound wave as it used Echoed Voice again. However, there was a noticable difference in the power behind this one, the volume also much louder as the oink rung out and echoed back.

Tristen couldn't help but to wonder if he needed to get the bird to continue its attack with Fury Attack if for nothing else to get the pig to shut up. Once more that Rookidee and Tristen ended up cringing hard from the loud shrill that was getting ever louder; as if it was trying to get the attention of everyone in the region, let alone within the area. Unfortunately, Tristen had to see what Rookidee was capable of and how he performed it. Which was probably going to bite Tristen in the rear effectively if he wasn't careful at this point. "Rookidee, try a Power Trip!" Tristen said. Tristen found out about these birds learning such an attack first hand the day he went to capture it. He ended up finding out that usually this attack was preceeded by the likes of their Hone Claws or similar skills because it only made the likes of Power Trip severely more potent; it was similar to Espeon's Stored Power in that regard, which Tristen found rather interesting. The Lechonk however wasn't going to feel that way in a second.

The bird fluttered off the ground then started to rush for the Lechonk, going in talons first and shrouded in a dark aura, the Power Trip coming forth to land all manner of hurt to the pig.

Lechonk continued to squeal as the Rookidee rushed towards it, as if planning to continue its string of Echoed Voices thus it did not have the thought for even a second to get out of the way. As such it was a sitting Psyduck and easy target for Tristen's Rookidee as it rushed in and slammed its Dark energy empowered talons right into the pig's fleshy body, all that built up Dark energy released upon impact sending the Lechonk tumbling backwards. "Le...chonk..." The pig moaned as its roll ceased with it on its back, the Pokemon fainting soon after. Rookidee knocked out Lechonk.

The time for celebration would be cut short however as a predatory Bug lurked in the tall grass nearby, the creepy crawler hidden in the grass deciding that this was the perfect opportunity to catch a meal. Coming flying out of the grass was a large ball of silk, the ball aimed directly at Tristen's Rookidee, threatening to not only knock the bird but to also ensnare it in the threads as Rookidee would likely flail or tumble around and might get a talon or wing stuck in the mess of silk. If Rookidee got stuck to the ball the owner would attempt to pull it and Rookidee into the tall grass where it hoped to make the bird into dinner. Tarountula were ambush predators and it likely had its attention drawn to the battle by Lechonk, figuring an already harmed and distracted Rookidee was optimal prey, the species only preying on birds when they were young or weak.

With the swine finally silenced. Tristen felt a bit of joy just then; Rookidee was rough around the edges, but performed pretty well. “Good job, Rookidee!” Tristen said. Sprigatito, sitting right next to Tristen, was left a little bit in awe of Rookidee’s performance. The Sprigatito mewed the bird’s praises, loudly even. Apparently the grass cat’s ears were ringing itself, its ear flickering occasionally. As Tristen went to reach over though to grab Rookidee’s Pokeball to bring it back to its Pokeball, Tristen looked over, seeing the web fly by and ensnare the Rookidee. “What the…!?” Tristen practically did a quick double-take, seeing the Tarantoula on the other end and quickly retreat into the grass, dragging the helpless bird as Rookidee flailed, trying to get out of the sticky webbing. Tristen stepped on the web strand as the spider tried to drag it off, stopping the pull of his bird. With the bird entangled badly in the webs, Tristen took out another Pokeball instead and gave it a toss. “Litten!” Tristen shouted, tossing the ball towards the tall grass.

The ball popped open and out came the black and red fiery cat out for battle, Sprigatito retreating behind Tristen trying to hide a little from the fiery kitten. “Litten! That one is trying to take Rookidee!” he shouted. “After it! Fire Fang!” Tristen shouted.

“Nyraro!” The Litten meowed out, maw lighting up and going after the bug Pokémon.

The Tarountula would cry out as Tristen stepped on its thread, causing the scurrying spider to get yanked backwards and off its feet. Just as the Bug type scurried back onto its feet it would get a good look at the Litten rushing towards it with flaming fangs and let out a cry of shock and fear. Litten would manage to sink its fangs into the spider and unleash the fire infused into them into the Tarountula, lighting the entire spider up in flames. Tarountula would let out a pained shriek for about two seconds before it went silent and limp. Once Litten released the spider it and its trainer would realize they had knocked it out in one hit. Guess that's why it's an ambush predator.

With Tarountula quickly dispatched Tristen was now free to check on and free his Rookidee from the spider thread. Once that was done he might notice the area around them was silent, any and all wild Pokemon that were nearby long since scared away by all this noise. If he wanted to encounter another challenge for his Pokemon he'd need to do some walking and look a little further away from here. Like the small thicket of trees just due west from here where Skwovet and Bounsweet did their best to co-exist, despite one wanting to munch on the other. Or he could go further south towards Los Platos and find a small pond with some Psyduck chilling at its edge, apparently watching the Magikarp swimming around.
