Ethan watched as the attack didn't even register against the flying type Pokemon, he looked to Croagunk wondering why before realizing that the Tallow was a normal type. He bit his lip wondering what to do next when he snatched up his pokemon saying," We don't have any moves that would work on it. We have to retreat for now!" He quickly took off carrying his struggling Pokemon, obviously it didn't want to run away from this fight.
The brown haired trainer sat down Croak after he got a tiny bit farther away he stretched his arms saying,"At least we got away from the Tallow, are you okay Croak?" The purple frog pokemon turned its head to its trainer, he turned his head away and shrugged letting out croak,> I wanted to fight.> Ethan frowned feeling like he was being ignored and then looked around the area.
Even though she was unable to understand exactly what the Inkay was on about, Alice came to a halt at the yelling. She felt Vorpal's grip on her arm tighten, and decided to follow his lead-- he'd been working as her interpreter for other Pokemon so far, and if he felt the need to fight, she'd be ready.
Meanwhile, Vorpal felt more baffled than threatened. He'd have figured any Pokemon in this strange crater needed to be more on their guard... but perhaps they needed to have their fun somehow. His ruminations had caused them to pause for so long that the Inkay had finished his... artwork. He observed it with a critical eye. >It's very nice,< he managed straightforwardly. Vorpal wasn't the artistic type, but he could be nice. Sometimes!
"Is that... oh!" The dots, or at least most of them, finally connected in Alice's mind. The robot girl smiled and clasped her hands together cheerfully. "It's lovely! You've truly got an eye for art," she praised him sincerely. Truth be told, she had no idea if the picture was any good-- she was a drone given sentience by an overzealous group of scientists, she didn't know what constituted as good art. But she was able to make out the contents of the drawing, and the Inkay's enthusiasm was very obvious even through the communication barrier. How could she not praise him? "Thank you, she finished with a smile.
Maddie almost opened her mouth to complain about not being included in the picture, but found herself distracted by floating sparkles above them. Ooo, what else was on this path...
(1-1)+(6-7)= 0 Damage -1 Attack rolls for Tekken -1 Defense rolls for Surskit
It was quite possibly the most pathetic attack that was matched with the most pathetic defense in all of existence. Peyton was even embarrassed to even be a part of it. "That... what." he said, dumbfounded by the lunacy of it. Was this a joke or something? It seemed like a bit of a joke, going along the lines of what happened when a movable object met a stoppable force. The boy bit back a snicker at that indulgence.
"Um, Tekken defend I guess?" He said to his Riolu once he collected himself, giving the Surskit a confused look. "So do you still want to fight after that, or-?" If the Surskit planned on teaching them a lesson, then it was going nowhere fast.

The brown haired Trainer and Croagunk got lucky, nothing seemed to be coming for them right now. He patted the Pokemon beside him saying," Looks like we can travel in piece for a few moments... I hope." He let out a sigh and he closed his eyes, before taking a deep breath and opening his eyes to the foggy area around them."Maybe we will get lucky and find it?"
Ethan continued on quietly, not encountering anything and hoping to not find any Normal pokemon after realizing the mistake he had made earlier. He was hoping to catch a new friend before encountering the stone he was supposed to find. He put a hand on the pokeball at his side almost wishing he had attempted to catch that tallow from earlier. But he doubted luck was on his side.

Alexander was quiet as he picked his way back through the bog, poking at the ground with his wooden sword to try and avoid stepping in a less stable portion of the ground. Same procedure as the way forward, although with more caution now. He didn't have Glaive to defend him. Didn't have Tsuna to potentially give him a heads-up for a better path. He couldn't even risk using Odette to scout ahead. He would just have to hope he could avoid trouble for the long walk back to the boat.
He just kept walking forward following by his partner, everything had grown quiet and he wasn't enjoying it. The shadows and fog all made him feel nervous just like he had before the sudden appearance of that Tallow. He let out a sigh, before stopping for a little breather. Saying,"Croak..Keep your eyes out, I need to take a bit of a break... So I can calm down."
That had been an interesting experience. He had slipped while trying to get away but the Riolu had been just as clumsy. Ah, well. No need to get ruffled over it. Digging into the bottom of the bog with his spindly legs, he shot Mud-shot at the Riolu~

The Numel looked at his opponent for a second. The Growling had woken him up a little bit! Once again, he began to take off in an awkward gait to try and avoid the next attack!

There wasn't much a choice for him now. If he kept Tekken out there then he was risking his life. Returning his Riolu, Peyton ran at the Surskit, hoping to punt it away-at least far enough that it wouldn't continue bothering him!

(If you decide to run, go ahead and roll a 1d20. If you decide to fight, the Corsola is ready, of course~)
As Alexander was moving along, he would see a flash of pink. Perched on a rock in the bog, a voice would yell at him, ">Halt evildoer!<" The boy would only hear the noise of Corrrr Corsola and then turn to see a Corsola staring directly at him. It was wearing a blue face mask (where had he gotten it, nobody knows~) Now that he had gotten the boy's attention, he burst into a monologue. ">I have traveled far and wide, searching the land and cleansing it of evil. I protect the weak, bring help so that good conquers evil! You vile humans intrude on our lands, attack innocent pokemon who have families and homes and then capture those in the disgusting white and red balls and keep us as slaves. No, I am afraid it is my duty to protect our lands from people like you. And so we shall fight! Or if not, I shall chase you far away from here!<" It was obvious by his stance that the boy had two choices, run or fight. Though even if he ran, the pokemon would attempt to attack him, the choice was his~ ">Who am I, you might ask? I am an enforcer of justice! Defender of the Bog! I am the Blue Avenger!<"
