Why must my video card fail to have "a pixel shader version 1.1 or higher"? Is it because the world wants to spite me?

I like the true nobles, who did their bit for the people under and above them. I'm biased though, since I'm from noble-ish stock. I'm from a ye olde Scottish lord family. Even had a castle. Damn Robert the Bruce and the Campbells...

Depends. Are they with replaced with something?
Reagan is the only one that comes to mind. And that's going to happen in my state of NH.

I wouldn't like it too much. Like it or not, we now need something to get us around at the speeds a car provides. We need to come up with better fuel sources though.
No, solar sucks.

Do we really though? Would it be so bad if everything went slower and it took longer to get everywhere? Wouldn't people be healtheir and possibly even happier?

No, because people might not be able to get work in the area they live in. Plus, familys would be torn apart if any of them are longer then a few days journey.
And what about shopping? The nearest clothing store to me is a good half hour car trip away, which is about thirty miles. Say I move at about two miles an hour walking. It would take me fifteen hours just to get there, and another fifteen to get back. Plus, you add in the people that would starve since farms are a good few hundred miles away depending on where you live. Mail would take so long you might as well go there with the news yourself.

What about if only a small amount of people, like police, firefighters, and the post office had access to vechicles so emergencies were still taken care of, you could mail things and shop online, and there were still trains and stuff for commuting?
