There's random beeping in my apartment! I thought it was the smoke detectors but when I climbed up and unscrew them from the ceiling, there was no battery. They're connected to the electrical in my unit. It's driving me crazy and I don't know what to do to make it stop or what's causing it for that matter.

Luckily, my other smoke detector didn't go all defective on me so I unplugged the beeping one. It's a bit of an eyesore but oh well. Better to keep my sanity haha. The picture is unrelated but I found it amusing...

Sid the Bear Luckily, my other smoke detector didn't go all defective on me so I unplugged the beeping one. It's a bit of an eyesore but oh well. Better to keep my sanity haha. The picture is unrelated but I found it amusing...

Yes, it is strangely soothing...haha. Yes! My property manager replied (she's much better than the previous one in getting back to you!) so I guess I'll get a call tomorrow from the smoke alarm guy. I should probably plug it back in when I know what time the person is coming to fix my smoke detector so they can hear the beeping.

I called the guy around lunch time and he said he'll have his service manager schedule a time. Haven't heard back...I really hope it gets fixed this week so I don't have to worry about it.

I bought mushrooms last week and I can't remember what I was going to make with them... I also forgot to return the batteries that I bought but ended up not needing so now I have to make another trip to the store tomorrow.

I think I meant to make spaghetti sauce with them but realized I have to stand in front of the stove for a couple of hours waiting for the tomatoes to boil down...I guess I'll use them for something else.  Yea, I didn't even open the package of batteries and I kept my receipt. It's just a hassle to have to run to the store since I have to visit my parents today and it takes a while to get to their place by transit.

I'm hearing beeping again but not as frequent as before. It was quiet all of Friday but it beeped for a short time on Saturday before I left the house but was quiet when I got home in the evening. But now it's randomly beeping since it woke me up this morning. I think the second smoke detector needs to be replaced too but I can't determine if it is indeed that one. It doesn't beep as constantly so I can't unplug it to see if it's the source or if there's some other cause if it's the one that got replaced.
