Suddenly, a Magikarp leapt from the river and slapped Maddy in the face with it's tail.
"Sonuva--!"
She reached to her pelt and pulled off Pikachu's Pokeball, unleashing the little lightning mouse.
"Thunderbolt!"
Sparks flew from Pikachu's little red cheeks as it let loose a powerful current of electricity, shocking the Magikarp. Surprising the carp survived the blow, but it was left paralyzed. It flopped around aimlessly.
Maddy sighed and topped an empty Pokeball at the little fish and watched as it was sucked into the ball's depths.
Shake...
Shake...
Shake...
... Ding! Magikarp was caught!
Maddy recalled Pikachu, picked her new companion's ball up off the ground, and went back to join the others.

Cody and Sean met up at the entrance of the Weather Institute and waited for everyone to meet up.

As everyone finished up, Maddy let out a sigh of relief.
"Well, let's head back to HQ. There's nothing else here for us today."
And with that, the long walk back to headquarters began.
"Today was certainly pretty fun."

Dimitri inhaled and exhaled to catch his breathe once he stopped in front of the doorway of the common room. "Yo!" Dimitri greeted her with nervous smile once he noticed her as he walked up to sneak a peek at what she was reading. Next, Dimitri jumped back, a startled expression crossed his face once he watched her suddenly jump out from her seat. He was literally surprised like a deer caught in head lights. "Woah! Your quite quite the hyperactive chica." Dimitri said nervously, hoping that she woundn't take what he said the wrong way. Then, Dimitri's began to jump around in a hyperactive way before he darted after Maddy, running as fast as he can to keep up with her. "Wait for me hyperactive chica!" Dimitri shouted followed by laughter. Finally, Dimitri arrived on the left side of the bridge on route 119 that gives way to the weather institute. He sighed heavily to catch his breathe, wishing that he had some food to have a picnic while he rested his bodily muscles.

Maddy spotted Dimitri as they were heading back to HQ.
"You missed the fun," she said to him. "But feel free to go battle and catch a wild Pokemon on Route 119."

Cody pulled Sparks' ball from his belt and tossed it into the air as the group headed back to HQ. Pulling off his backpack, he kneeled in the grass and pulled a small, green stone with a thunderbolt engraved in it from his pack. The boy and his pokemon looked at one another for a moment. "Sparks, I think you're ready to take the next step in your training. What do you think?" he asked the Pikachu.
The small mouse pokemon let out an excited Pikaaa! and took the stone from her trainer. The Pikachu took a step back and started to glow blindingly. Cody squinted as his pokemon morphed before his eyes, and when the light finally died down, a Raichu stood before him. Sparks jumped into her trainers arms and let out an excited "Rai, RAICHU!"

"Aww Man! I figured that I would miss the party, but at least I made it just in time to find a new friend." Dimitri replied in a sauve tone and instinctively took out a pokeball once he noticed a shadowy figure rustling around within a wide field of long grass. Next, Dimitri tossed his pokeball into the air and sent out his growlithe once the shadowy figure stepped out from the wide field of long grass, revealing itself to be a wild tropius. "Sorry ladies and gentleman... this ones mine! Go Growlithe! Use Fire Fang!"
~The battle has now begun~
Following her trainers command, Growlithe lunged out at the wild tropius, using fire fang to ignite her fangs and bit the wild tropius, dealing a large amount of damage along with inducing a burn. The wild tropius collapsed from the attack, making a painful grunting sound once the burn inflicted it's damage before it countered by using razor leaf. Growlithe let out a painful growl and collapsed as the sharp leaves from the razor leaf attack slammed into her body. "Hang in there growlithe! Show off your charming side and use Attract!" Dimitri shouted. Following her trainers command, growlithe used attract to immobilize the wild tropius by making the wild pokemon fall in love with her. Fortunately for Growlithe, The wild tropius became immobilized with love from being the opposite gender, grunting painfully once the burn inflicted it's damage. "Go Growlithe! Use Sunny day!" Following her trainer's command, Growlithe used sunny day to change the weather from rainy to sunny, giving all fire pokemon in the area a big advantage. Unfortunately for Growlithe, The wild tropius suddenly snapped out of his loveful immobilization, using solar beam to fire a blast of the light that the attack quickly gathered from the sunny day at Growlithe before the burn inflicted it's damage. Once the blast of gathered light from the solar beam slammed into her, Growlithe cried out painfully and began to struggle to keep her balance. "I believe in you Growlithe! Use Heatwave to finish this leafy beast off!" Following her trainers command, Growlithe used heatwave to exhale a heated breathe at the wild tropius, dealing a devastating amount of damage with the help of the power boost from the sunny day, enough damage to bring the wild pokemon down to it's last few bits of health. The wild tropius made a grunting sound that sounded more like a painful cry before it collapsed to the ground, too weak to fight back. Following this, Dimitri took out a pokeball and tossed it at the wild pokemon. He watched as the pokeball hit the wild tropius on the forehead and pulled the wild pokemon inside of it. Next, the pokeball began to move side to side for a couple of minutes until it made a "Ding!" sound, indicating that the capture was successful. Then, Dimitri walked up and picked up the pokeball. "Welcome to my big happy family new friend." Dimitri said as if he was speaking to the newly caught pokemon within the pokeball. Finally, Dimitri put the pokeball away before he walked up to his injured growlithe and picked her up, petting her softly as a way to congratulate her for a well fought battle.
~THe battle has finally ended~

Maddy entered HQ with a fist full of Rare Candies, enough for each member of Aqua.
"H-Happy New Year!!"
She stumbled to the couch and passed out on it. Someone had a fun night.
Feel free to take another Rare Candy to ring in the New Year!

Cody popped his head into HQ. Realizing he was alone, he sighed heavily.
"Seems I can never catch anyone at the right time," he half-chuckled to himself.
He noticed a bowl of Rare Candies on the table, walked over, and took one.
"Again? What a pleasant surprise. Happy New Year to me, I suppose." He shot another thank you message to Maddy, similar to the one he sent last time. He hoped people would come around soon. He didn't have a whole lot of work to do today, so it was going to be rather slow.

Allen, again in a rush, popped into the room for a quick peek to see if anyone was around. He noticed a new bunch of the candies on the table. "Well if they're gonna make it this easy..." He shrugged and went in to snag another one on his way out. He chuckled and left. His Pokemon would definitely thank him later.

"Hello!" Colton replied as he walked down the hall and into the common room. The Christmas tree still hanging in the center with a few unopened presents beneath its branches.

As people slowly started gathering, Rosie heard the noise. She was excited- it was going to be her first mission in a large group. At the same time, she was a little nervous. Smoothing the sides of her dress, the golden eyed girl looked in the mirror. "Everything will definitely be okay. I got this far.. This is the time for me to change." The girl smiled brightly, when Lily landed on her shoulder. The Emolga was always cheerful and curious. One of her other partners, Vale the Poochyena was at her ankle silently showing he was there to support her. No, it was time to step out. Besides! Thorn wouldn't leave her to fend for herself.. for long, right? Walking out of her room, she then made her way into the room. There were already two people gathered in the room and she tried not shrink back towards the direction of her room. Instead she smiled a bit shyly and waved. "Rosal- I mean...hi, I'm Rosie! I'm uh- new here."
