((I'm going with the theory that there are 'normal' animals in the Pogey world, they're there they just aren't noted)) Cara rolled her eyes and ignored Erika. "Maybe not but if you look carefully... and I meant bug-bugs, not bug-TYPES. You know, worms, caterpillars, ants, termites?" She rolled her eyes. Cara did have to admit to herself that if you were extremely desperate, eating a wild Pokemon to survive (although to her it seemed tantamount to cannibalism) would seem to be the last resort. She heard another girl talk of people eating 'Torchic Wings' on the ship. So wrong.
Spirit wasn't happy that someone ate a fellow Pokemon, even if it was their only hope of survival. It just wasn't right. She also wasn't happy that this lady was messing with her human. She buzzed at Erika from her perch on Cara's head, warning her to back off much like Squeeks was now. Cara looked down at Remmy and Squeeks as they came to her 'aid'. She smiled at them. "It's ok guys. I'm good. I can handle a little head-butting from the likes of THIS chick." Suddenly, she heard the growling and looked around. She zeroed in on it coming from a rocky area and gasped when she saw a gorgeous Houndour appear. "Whoa...it's beautiful. Absolutely stunning." I need that houndour in my life.

Although the Houndour was growling and staring down at them all, Anise didn't think it would be a threat. As long as nobody got close anyway. The pokemon here seemed to be particularly territorial, as best as she could tell.

 Eros smiled. "The best vacation money can buy." He glanced nervously up at the Houndour. "Indeed. They seem more likely to hinder than help our quest, however." Dido spared a hiss for the wild Pokémon, but soon returned to imperious indifference. I need that houndour in my life.

The growling from the houndor startled Fois. The hoothoot, who was perched on Valarie's shoulder, flapped his wings defensively; effectively giving Valarie a few smacks on the back of her head.
"Ow, ow, Fois-- ow! Quit it, its not going to hurt you!"
I need that houndour in my life.

Katori glanced around, wondering if anyone was going to try and catch the houndour but it seemed like it was too much of a hassle for anyone else either. He glared down at Danae who seemed to be ready to go and attack the Houndour at the twitch of a muscle. "No Danae" he said, grumbling. It seemed she wasn't the only one though as other Pokemon were being defensive of their trainers. He just hoped the houndour would realise they weren't gonna hurt it and let them pass safely.

They didn't seem to be making much time, with all of the distractions around and attention spans like magikarps Cai doubted they'd find the ship by sundown. He eyed the trainers gearing up for a battle and found himself surprised one hadn't broken out before now. They usually couldn't even look at each other before the pokemon were out and things were on.
"The native pokemon do seem fairly curious." He commented lightly to his companions, letting his stride widen as they walked, passively hinting that the group should get moving if they didn't want to die out in these sands. He had no interest in solving any mysterious riddles posed by the notes (and in fact believed there was nothing there for them to solve!)

Remmy look at Erika and yell "You mess with her you mess with me! Right Remmy!? No body hurt my friend! I'll tell my ma and pa and they will make our milktanks come after you!"
Squeek look at her and his cheek lit up, He was getting mad. "If you mess with my Remmy i will hurt you!" He squeak out.

Cara turned back to Erika, away from the Houndour. She would try to catch it but she figured it would just run off like all the other Pokemon before she even got close. She sighed in aggravation at the previously drunk woman before her, not paying much mind to the Scyther, and gave her an unamused look. "Not really, but apparently you are. I can't help but wonder WHY that is?" She raised her brow at the 'why'. "Are you usually this...confrontational?" She asked nonchalantly. Spirit buzzed back at the Scyther, a slightly dangerous but warning look in her eyes as she flew off of Cara's head and hovered in front of her. "Brava Vibrava, vibrava brava. Vibrava vibrava. Brrava Vi Brava Vi." I'm only sending a warning, your trainer needs to back off. Cara didn't do anything. But if it comes to a fight, I'll defend her. Cara put her hand on Remmy's shoulder. "It's ok you two, I can fight my own battles." She smiled reassuringly at them. "Thank you though."

In truth, while a bit of a jackass, Erika wasn't usually this confrontational. And deep down, she knew she should back off, but the idea that she'd never see the most important person in her life again rendered such thoughts moot in favor of a thought process far more base and familiar. One she had once given up, for him. Erika turned her glare upon Remmy. "Try it, Squirt. I ain't afraid to deck a snot-nosed brat; and it's none of your ********' business if I'm usually confrontational." She spat, whirling back around to Cara. She stashed her hands into her pockets, her glare shifting between the kid and the other woman. Blaire continued to stand vigilant before Erika. [I agree, but I would die for Milady, no matter what she chooses. Have your trainer step down.]

Once again Michelle had to grab on to Remy, though this time it was to calm him down as he hissed at the Houndour on the rocks.

It pecked and pulled at random people's pants legs, socks, shoes, and dangling bag straps. It was too small and weak to actually be a threat, but it was tugging in one general direction-- away from where the humans were currently heading. Like others, the torchic was physically different from others of its species.  (( The torchic will flee at any attempt to attack or capture it. Katori stopped when he looked at Danae again, there was another scrap of paper. He picked it up. "Inbred what?" he said aloud. "What's exciting, but whoever you are guy, we're finding your stuff...you crazy bas...."
"QUIIIIILL" yelled Danae at him, cutting off his sentence and drawing his attention to a Torchic that had appeared. Not that he needed Danae to alert him as it tugged as his pants "Wha?" Well this one didn't seem as unfriendly as most he'd seen "What's up little fella?" he mused, wondering about it's strange behaviour.
Shoo, torchic!
