"They weren't going to tell you until you started working as a team with each other, and with your personae. Same with me and Ringo, we couldn't find out why they kept double teaming us, then we figured out they wanted us to do the same." Kai chuckled.

Kai sighed. "I hate that thing, shields are supposed to be for defense, but nooo, that guy finds a way. Did you know he sews?"

"Not really. I mean the way Seta explained it, that shadow was just Kanji's feelings of wanted to be accepted by someone, anyone, other than being judged for being good at sewing and fighting." Kai shrugged. "Plus you've seen the persona that came from that shadow. It's like a big frickin robot skeleton that carries around a huge lightning bolt."

"Yeah, that's how I died. Threw it right in my neck." Kai looked down as the floor turned into stone. "Here we are." He turned a corner. "Dude, it didn't feel like it tossed me that far." They turned a corner and met a giant shadow, about ten feet tall. "This, is Nyx."

They ran up to the others.
Nyx smiled and lowered its sword, waiting for them.
