[*~Youni~*]

"...."

[Youni: Merlins House]

....Everything started with nothing.

reaching for the answers ....

.... confusing myth with fact.

.... illusion with truth.

It was rare for Merlin to speak of these things in such detail. During her lessons Youni remembered Merlin brushing over these subjects lightly, and Mickey, his name was a rare uttering, heard only in a passing topic. Merlin never went indepth before like this- even when he was pelted by her relentless questioning. Youni was very keenly listening to both he and Aerith.

Apprentice Blades. Ritualistic Magic.
King Mickey. Disney. Cornerstone of Light.
Mouse - Man.

Wait something didn't fit.

She broke her commanded silence because she was fed two opposite peices of information.
" But didn't you say just 46.4 seconds ago- that King Mickey was a mouse? How is he then a man?"

[[Vain]] -&- [[Masenko-Ma]]

___[Traverse Town .:. Third District .:. Alley]

Masenko sighed as Nalo attacked him, questioning the ninja's speed as he assaulted him with a poison-filled fist. The demon of the mist caught the fist in his hand, showing little visible effort in halting the frontal assault. In fact, he showed barely any emotion at all as smoke seemed to pour from his palm where he'd caught the fist. "Kid, I don't think you quite understand the gravity of the situation." He placed a hand over his head and summoned a rather large shuriken, this single weapon replacing both previous shuriken as he added, "I could have killed you all under the cover of smoke. I'm allowing you a chance to dodge attacks you can see. I can just as easily consume this alley with smoke and kill all of you in the blink of an eye."

The nobody launched the massive shuriken at the Large Body, the strength of the attack tearing the Heartless in half before the weapon vanished. "Not even poisoning me can stop me. the moment I become poisoned, I can simply turn to smoke and reconstitute myself without the poisons, so it is truly a meaningless-"

"Hold him still, kid!"

Vain suddenly fell from above again, his sword enveloped in Darkness as he descended upon the two with an attack. "How about we find out if you can turn to smoke while you're busy purifying yourse-" Vain was suddenly hit by a blast of smoke, sending him off course and tumbling to the ground with the Revblade's cursing following the landing.

Masenko dropped his hand back down to his side with a sigh, obviously done playing games. "I grow tired of you all..." Smoke began to fill the alley again, obscuring the vision of the four as Masenko called out, "Time's up!"

With that, the smoke suddenly lifted, revealing the nobody to have vanished. His voice could be heard up on the rooftops as he shouted, "Sorry, but other business seems to be calling me! I'll help you guys some other time... Raincheck! That's it, raincheck!"

[Third District : Merlin's House]

"A little of both, really," Merlin responded, waving his wand slightly as the tea kettle and cups began to clean themselves, now that they were finished with the tea. "And it's possible- we haven't searched every corner of the universe, and I'm not sure it'd be possible."

"Youni, when people say 'man', they usually just mean an adult male, and Mickey is an adult male mouse," Aerith explained, lightly running a hand through Youni's hair. "Well... a type of mouse that is much like a short human. I can't explain it well, you'll just have to meet him one day."

[Shade : Gummi Ship : Path towards Land of Dragons]

Shade directed her ship with her normal emotionless expression. She was just glad to be off that world. It was too crowded for her tastes. Not to mention boring. Not to mention she was unable to find anything that would lead her to the ones that destroyed her home. Which left the ninja with as much information she started out with, that was just aggrivating.

Fang let out a small growl from his place at his master's side. Shade gave a side glance in the direction of Fang before glancing back at what she was doing. Maybe the next world would have something she could work with. There was a world she heard about in days before, called Land of Dragons. She figured she'd check it out, and talk to the locals.

[Traverse Town ♦ District 3]

Nalo stood motionless for a moment. His hand still clenched tight. Steadily, his grip loosened and he relaxed. His veins throbbed with each pulse of his spastic heart. "Wah-Wow" He said, trying to catch his breath. Suddenly, he realized that Artemis flew back past him. Window had yelled...something...another heartless...Nalo's head was spinning. The heartless was gone: the ninja had made sure of that. Nalo's legs gave out from under him. He slumped down onto the cold pavement, exhausted and bleeding. His eyes hurt. He took in a gasp of air before asking, "Are you...Are you guys alright? Artemis?" He looked over to see Artemis collapsed on the cobblestone pavement, immobile. Window and Vain were still standing, so he drug himself over to Artemis. "Guys...Artemis looks really....really bad."

"Someone with no destiny is like a blank page with no utensil to write with."

[Traverse Town :: Third District]

He lay on the cobblestone motionless. The pain was rippling throughout his body; he was stunned, unable to comprehend what was happening around him. He could barley make out Nalos voice as he spoke to him, the words mashing together making gurgling sounds. His fingers twitched in pain, the only part of his body that had any motion other then his slightly moving chest from his shallow breaths. Artemis was not in critical condition, but his wounds need treating, and some rest would do him well.

~Window~

[Traverse Town::Third District::Alley]

The pounding footsteps abruptly died as the large Heartless dissipated. As he pivoted around, the attacker disappeared into his mist, his voice echoing away. Window's eyes followed the rising smoke up where they came to rest on the terrible, cold sky. Quickly he averted his gaze downward, pushing back the sense of uneasiness that washed over him. "I wonder who he was...?" he muttered. And why did he attack us? Who or what was he after? Turning his attention back to more earthly matters, the man looked around at the two recent additions to his and Nalo's duo. Other than a few scratches and bruises, Window seemed all right; definitely functioning. But it seemed as if his other companions did not fare so well. Impulsively Window checked Nalo first--he was on the ground, bleeding, and hunched over the red-haired one called Artemis, who was currently not moving. Window flicked his head back toward the newest battle attendee, a black-haired youth with a right hand that did not match the rest of his body. He wondered for a moment if it was natural or not--for what did he know of the bodies of people from other worlds?--but it was a matter to ponder at another time.

Jumping over to the fallen Artemis, Window wished for a moment that he had received medical training instead of studying biological anthropology, but it was as good as he was going to get in this situation. He bent over the boy, who was still breathing, luckily. He hadn't seen what occurred to injure Artemis so, making it harder for him to diagnose what was wrong. "Artemis? Can you hear me?" He lifted one eyelid and then the other. Neither eye was focusing properly. He then snapped his finger by each of his ears, receiving a slight twitch when he snapped his fingers by the right side. "If you can hear me, make a noise, even if it's a moan." Window turned to Nalo and the other boy. "Did you two see what happened to him? It is important not to move his head, just in case something is broken. Also, we should not move his back if we can. Does anyone have a large sheet or piece of cloth, so we can carry him somewhere without jarring his body excessively? Until we can get him to talk and tell us where he is damaged, we should take utmost care. Is there a place of medicine nearby?" Window sat and thought for a moment as his mind whirled furiously, putting together the pieces. "Or..." he started slowly, "Or we could finish our quest...and find Merlin. He could help, could he not? When I was thrown down the alley, I found a door with a flame upon it. It seems to be the only remaining possibility for Merlin's location." He pointed down the alley, the door now visible since the alley was clear. "But whatever we do, we must decide quickly, before the Heartless have a chance to regroup."

[Moggie : Traverse Town : Second District]

Moggie glared a little at Kuropo but said something. She got to her feet and looked around the area, her nose twitched slightly. She didn't like just sitting there. Was she the only one bothered about that portal?

She started to walk off in a direction, something in the air was making her twitchy. She couldn't tell where it was coming from, but it felt like magic. Moggie was getting more and more nervous as time went on. She slowly glanced in the direction her ear twitch at.

She glanced back at the group before saying, "I don't know about you guys but I am going to look for him. Stay here if you want."

Then she left in the direction her ear moved to.

[ ? ¿ ? ¿ ? ]

{Death, by any other name... is still death~}

[ Traverse Town : Third District ]

"Oh, tsk tsk, what have we here~?"

The rather eerie voice seemed to creep down the alley from the entrance, where a cloaked entity stood, leaning its shoulder against the corner with its arms crossed in front of its chest. The voice was definitely male, though its high pitch definitely classified it as 'creepy' and not 'friendly'. He was covered in a simple, tattered black cloak, which was clasped at the middle of his chest with a gleaming onyx gem. The shoulders were metallic and pointed out horizontally from the shoulders a good few inches.

Underneath the cloak, and barely visible in the darkness, he seemed to wear somewhat-formal black clothing: an ornate vest emblazoned with strange symbols and hieroglyphs; somewhat loose black pants, kept tight after the knees by black leather boots with two sets of straps wrapped around the calves in 'X' fashions; his arms (which were crossed in front of him) were revealed to be clothed in sleeves similar to his pants; just below the elbow, there were two more identical sets of straps that crossed in 'X' fashions just above the large, ornate cuffs of the shirt, emblazoned with additional symbols and hieroglyphs; his hands were covered black leather gloves.

His face? His face was covered by the hood of the cloak, which kept a shadow blocking the already-dim lights from the District.

The most disturbing thing, however, about this entity was not his appearance or his voice, but his presence. To the Viera, Nalo, who was in tune with the flow of magical energy around him, it would feel as if there was some disturbance, as if the Mist had been corrupted. To the Rev-Wielder, Vain, (or, rather, his blade and his arm) it would feel as though the darkness from the man's heart was somewhat palpable. Was it hostile, or threatening? No. In fact, they might even find it easy to ignore.

"Another child, felled by abominations. So commonplace, these days," he spoke, walking forward with an obviously amused tone to his voice, though he tried (barely) to mask it with concern. A green gem lightly hovered out of the cloak, seeming to circle above his head, like a halo. "I take it no one has healing magic? Biiig mistake in these parts. Obviously amateurs~"

[Traverse Town :: Second District]

Suzu stared, dumbstruck at the Moogle. She was kidding right? She had to be kidding. Wait no... she was serious. Suzu began walking after Moggie, stopped a for a couple of seconds, glanced back at the group before looking back to the Moogle.

"You can't be serious. We don't even know where he is! He might not even be on this world anymor-" Suzu began to respond before she stopped herself. The Moogle had a point, better than sitting there and doing nothing, the heiress crossed her arms. They were going to be going on a wild goose chase if Sory happened to be whisked off to some other world. How complicated. The geomancer closed her eyes and tried to hear the reverberations of the ground to no avail. She was sensing the movement of a lot of people and it wasn't possible to hone it down to just Sory. Not when she didn't even recognize his movement patterns.

The hairs on Nalo's neck stood on end as the cloaked man entered the alleyway. "His presence..." His brain whirled through past memories. To the mist...the parts of the wood where mist and magic flowed freely and to his confrontation with Orpheus. That made Nalo shutter. He vividly remember the little man's smell...the smell of soil and death. Nalo tried to be friendly. Maybe he was wrong. Maybe this man was here for a benevolent purpose?

"C-can you help our friend? Do you know any healing magic?" Nalo scooted away from Artemis, took Window's hand and stumbled backwards. He didn't want to speak. His face was flushed of all color. He gripped Window's hand as he thought, hoping his friend could hear him, though futile Nalo's courage came back to him and he repositioned himself slightly in front of Window. If this man was going to fight, he'd have to get through one pissed-off Viera to get to Window.

[Fal'navi :: Second District Rooftops]

Fal'navi wasn't an idiot when it came to combat. Angering your opponent to make him attack irrationally is a basic maneuver, but it has one major drawback: They can get extremely powerful. The Frost Breath was somewhat expected, but the disarming was a surprise. Soryuju remained quite rational after having the lives of his 'friends' threatened. As his spear flew down to the street below, he couldn't help but chuckle.

"You are impressive." The Dragoon stated, the ice melting off of his armor as his hands held more fiery orbs. "Yet, I do not believe you understand the magnitude of magical power that I have." He laughed, making the flames disappear. He waved his hands, metallic blades sliding from his wrists. The yellow eyed monster began muttering in an unknown tongue, and a Thundara spell flew towards the Holy Dragoon.

[Moggie : Traverse Town : Second District]

Moggie glanced back at Suzuran. The moogles ears were twitching slightly. The girl maybe right as well. But this feel in the air was hard for her to ignore.

"Well if you have a better suggestion, I'd love to hear it," the moogle sighed as she glanced back in the direction she was heading, "Call it a sixth sense, but I can feel something from this direction, it is faint but it is there. I might be wrong, who knows. It might just be heartless causing crap. But I want to check it out."

With that the moogle started to walk once more. Was it here or did she see a flash above one of the buildings?

{Ignorance is bliss... until reality throws a Heartless siege at you.}

[Traverse Town : Second District Rooftops]

As the Tsuvryen Dragoon listened, he hesitated. This man seemed more than confident in his abilities; as a matter of fact, he seemed as if he knew all of Soryuju's potential moves. He seemed to... prepared.

He really was in over his head. But what could he do? He'd been pulled into this horror, he didn't jump in willingly-

ZAP!

Soryuju immediately gasped in pain, falling to one knee as the surprise Thundara spell fell from the sky, coming down on him unexpectedly. This man was no ordinary dragoon- he was a black mage, as well, it appeared. Soryuju had to escape- immediately, he Leapt off the building once again, having already been crouched down, and soared through the air to another rooftop. Was he closer to his friends? He couldn't tell- all the roofs looked the same.

As he fell through the air, he charged energy through his vocal chords and let out a Dragon's Roar, loud enough to announce his general location, as well as hopefully stun the fellow dragoon.

{You look like you fell down a tree and hit every possible branch on the way down.}

[Traverse Town :: Second District]

The heiress sighed, running her hand through her relatively short hair. How did she and Maru manage to get stuck with this one? No one better annoy her on the ship, or she was going to throw someone out. Suzu would've kept silent but she let out a small shriek as a spear came crashing into the cobblestone before them, creating moderately sized cracks to course along the ground.

"Riiighhhtt. Are spears supposed to fall out of the sky?" Her violet eyes followed up the weapon into the sky which was when a familiar roar echoed across the sky. She tried to follow the sound as best as she could, before finally noting a figure against the rooftops. "Sory!?" What in the heavens are you doing hopping rooftops this time of the night? We've got places to be! Of course, nevermind the fact that he just got sucked into some suspicious dark portal...

((I'm assuming the spear fell where we could see it? COrrect me if I'm wrong D: ))
