Kietaru leaned back in the hot tub, finally beginning to relax again. She closed her eyes and began thinking about how this year would be, hoping she'd meet many other nice people just like Kana, and hoping Shojuto would too.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shojuto stopped biting his nails when Kana put her hand on his, he breathed a sigh of relief, thankful no one had caused her trouble, or harm. When he realized that their hands were touching, his cheeks turned a deep pink. He had no idea what to do or say, if he opened his mouth he knew that all he'd end up doing was saying something stupid.

Kana smiled cheerfully at Shojuto, tilting her head almost curiously as she saw his face flush and noted that he kept quiet. Then her eyes dropped to their hands and she pulled hers away, her own cheeks flushing faintly pink now. "Um, sorry..." she murmured with a small laugh.
She glanced at Kietaru, grinning as she saw the girl relaxing. She's got the right idea! She nodded towards her, not speaking her thoughts aloud. Then she allowed herself to lean back again, holding the towel carefully to herself as she slumped a bit into the water again, now up to her neck. She breathed out slowly in content, but couldn't sit still for too long. She quickly began batting the water around with her hands again.

Kietaru's body began feeling more and more relaxed, she started getting drowsy and nodded off slightly. She was close up enough to the ledge so she wouldn't slide into the water and risk drowning herself. She was so tired, especially after last night, she'd only slept about 3 hours. She tossed and turned and never really got asleep, mostly worry she assumed.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shojuto was mildly disappointed when Kana pulled her hand away, the colour in his cheeks went away as quickly as it had appeared. Part of him wished she had left her hand there but he knew that it would have ended up feeling akward for them both.

Kana's ear twitched and she glanced over at Kietaru, sitting up a bit more straight again. Her head tilted slightly as she saw her moving around restlessly, but she didn't say anything. Instead, she turned back towards Shojuto, moving to her knees. Now her stomach was to the rocks which had previously been against her back, her arms crossed on the side of the spring and her chin resting in them. Her ear flicked lightly, sending a drop of water flinging away.
Slowly, her tail uncurled itself from her waist and stuck halfway out of the water, the tip swaying gently side to side. She gazed at him, tilting her head in her arms. "What's on your mind?" she grinned, showing her fangs without realizing it. She absently began running her claws along the rocks, not hard enough to make indents in them.

Kietaru was lost in thought, inches from sleep, but still awake and quite aware that she was drifting off. She kept having dreams, or dreams of memories from hers and Shojutos past. How miserable they were when they were abandoned, and how happy they were when they left that wretched orphanage. Some good and some bad, they all ran through her head. Swimming like innocent fishes in her daydreams.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shojuto shook his head, trying to rid himself of his own preturbing thoughts. He hated residing slowly into thought, his memories always haunted him like angry ghosts, and whenever he drifted away, they always came back. He realized that Kana was speaking to him and he replyed almost abruptly. "Oh. No! I'm fine. Nothing wrong, I mean. I'm just thinking. But ya, nothing to..worry about?" His confused speech didn't even fool himself and he knew it would be far from close to fooling Kana either.

Kana blinked in surprise at his sudden response, then felt her ears droop slightly. She raised her head to look at him better, tilting her head once more. "Are you... sure?" she asked uncertainly, concern showing through in her eyes. "Because you said I could confide in you if I wanted, right?" She paused, trying to think if he'd actually said that. She'd met a lot of people already today... But then she nodded, deciding he had. "Well, then it's only fair that I'll listen to you. So, if you have anything to say, I'm listening." She finished with a soft smile, eyes still upon him.
She wasn't going to pressure him any further than this, not wanting to stir up memories. She knew how much it bothered her when people caused her to recall things she'd rather forget as well. But then she frowned very slightly at this thought. No... I'd like to keep all my memories, good and bad, she told herself, then turned back to Shojuto, smile returning faintly.

Shojuto looked at Kana as she spoke. Yes, I did say that didn't I? But it's best not to place all of my problems onto her plate, I'm sure she has problems of her own. She shouldn't have to worry about mine too. "I know, and I'm glad you want to help me. It's always a good sign when two people feel like they can confide in eachother and stuff, that's always a sign that two people are getting closer right? I just dont feel like any of my current problems are much to get you worried about. They're not really anything, and it's not fair of me to complain about such dismal things. I'm sure you have things you worry about too, I dont want to add to it." Shojuto looked down at the water slightly as he finished speaking.

Kana continued watching him for a moment, taking in his words. I do have things too but... Her thought trailed off. She began wondering if maybe she'd wanted some one to help through their problems as an escuse to ignore her own personal dealings. But then she bowed her head slightly. No, that seemed a very cowardly way to think. She'd have to get over her problems sooner or later, but for now she'd just continue pushing them aside and stay optimistic.
She turned her attention back to Shojuto and nodded, head still tilted. "Yes, I understand. Sorry to bother you then." She glanced at Kietaru, grinning as she saw the girl was asleep, and then slowly turned back around so her back was once more placed against the rocks. She shifted the towel slightly and slowly began trailing her hands through the water again.

Shojuto's eyes widened as Kana spoke. "Oh, no! I-I didn't mean it like that! You're not bothering me at all, I mean. Ugh, damn. I just meant I didn't want to bother you! I mean...ahh, I'm not very good at this at all am I? God, my words never come out right. I'm sorry." Shojuto looked at Kana sadly, he was afraid that yet again he'd screwed up and maybe upset her.

[Haha, that's fine. ^^;]
Kana looked back at him, blinking as she saw his eyes widen. After his outburst, she just continued gazing at him a moment longer. She'd never really talked to someone like this before, and she was kind of confused, amused, and interested all at once. Her tail began flicking almost excitedly behind her.
Then Kana leaned towards him, tilting her head yet again. "Eh?" she began uncertainly. "I'm sorry if that offended you! I really didn't mean to..." She paused, ears angling themselves upon her head, before perking up suddenly straight. She noted his saddened look and had thought of a way to hopefully get rid of it. She laughed softly, then reached out slowly towards him. "You," she said, now grinning widly. "Seem to be very paranoid about bothering people." With that, she poked him gently on the nose and then withdrew her hand, placing it over her mouth as she laughed again. "But you don't need to worry so much," she added, voice slightly muffled through her fingers.
[Edit-I have to be off by ten on school nights. ><;; When are you usually on?]

[[Kietaru is still sleeping... sweatdrop ]]
Shojuto looked at Kana, desperately trying to think of what to say, he didn't understand how after all these years he had never realized some things about himself that this girl could just tell by talking to him for this little while. "I-I guess that, since I haven't been around people that have accepted me, and my sister, very much, I just get scared. You know, scared that for the first time someones accepted me, and then all of a sudden I push them away."
[[Well, my school ends at like 2:50 so I usually get online at like 4, and get off at 10. That's school nights that I'm not busy and stuff. Weekends vary a bit. xd ]]

[Haha, alright. I'm on like... all the time after school, unless I have softball, but that'll be over in a few weeks. ^^; I get out at 2:18, but get on around four also.]
Kana listened to his words carefully, ears angled slightly towards him. Then she grinned and suddenly struck a determined pose, which still looked quite comical. "Well, you don't have to worry about pushing me away!" she declared playfully. "Because I'll push you right back!" She continued grinning at him, head tilted and not quite sure if what she'd just said made any sense at all, but she didn't bother to explain further either.
She kept smiling even as her thoughts wandered, then spoke aloud. "You know, people have never really accepted me either," she sighed, shaking her head in mock sadness, but her eyes still shone in excitement. "But I still feel very lucky that I had such a caring mom. And now I've come here, and I'm so quickly making so many friends!" She paused, laughing softly to herself. "It's really almost overwhelming... But I don't mind at all. It's overwhelming in a good way." She glanced up at him, giving up her attempt at faking sadness to grin again. "I'm sure you'll make lots of friends here as well, right? So don't be scared. Since you're really nice, you'll have no trouble meeting people." She nodded her head as if to confirm her own words.

Kietaru awoke in a daze, she'd actually slept pretty well. The warm hot springs water had soothed her muscles while she'd slept and she was now more relaxed then ever before. She looked at her hands and laughed a bit, she was beginning to prune from being in the water for so long. She looked at Shojuto and Kana and smiled. "Hey, do you guys wanna walk around a bit. Maybe check out some different places. I'm starting to turn into a raisin!"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shojuto was almost disappointed that his sister had woken up so soon. He'd wanted to talk to Kana some more privately without Kietaru being, well, Kietaru. But she was awake and there was nothing he could do about it. As she mentioned turning into a raisin, he looked at his own hands and laughed as well. "Well, I'm up for anything! What about you Kana?"
