Mendez raised his rifle and stood at attention. He gave the all clear signal and panned his eyes slowly across the room.

Howie was close to Scarlett. Howie had slung his BR55 over his back and now had out his M90. He had heard it was more effective on the flood and it made him feel slightly safer. The room seemed completly still except for all the marines moveing through it.

Mendez raised his shotgun and peered at one of the doors. He slowly looked through the window and saw a flood pacing the hall beyond. He backed away and motioned that there was something beyond the door.

Howie caught Mendez's signal and took a knee with his M90 aimed down the hall. He wasn't as excited as he was before and was takeing slow precations. Today wasn't his day to die.
(( I don't think we should continue till other get on tonight. So no one gets to lost. Just a thought.))

The SPARTAN nodded as one of his Marines gave the all clear signal, and quickly began giving out orders over the team frequency, taking advantage of his position as CO on this operation as he did. "Alright then. We'll be using this room as a central position to defend and fall back to. Unpack the AP turrets and set them up at those two entrances." He quickly pointed towards the two arches with openings beneath them that they didn't enter through. "Block them off and defend them. Empty out any crates of frag grenades or ammunition and barracade them for extra protection. Grab any extra weapons you don't need, along with spare ammo, and set them up in the center of this room. If we ever get ambushed and are forced to retreat, this is where we'll be heading." He quickly pointed to the Marine who was carrying their COM equipment. "Set up our long-range communications system. We need to be able to contact the surface to relay our status." The Sergeant who he'd always had with him on his missions nodded and quickly got to work. He let himself relax for only a moment, watching his team as they got to work on creating their CP.

Mendez checked that the combat form had limped down the hall and dissappeared. He turned and lowered his rifle, grabbing seven more clips of ammunition, two frags, and 24 rounds for his M90. The marines set up their CP and Mendez finally leaned against a wall, glad to let command of his squad go to the Spartan.

Howie got to work unloading crates and stacking them. It seemed like a very good plan. Howie would have no problem following 108 into battle. Smart leader was what 108 was. Howie finshed and helped set up the AP Turrets. This was going to be a hard battle.

As everything came together, Mendez lay his M90 on the ground and inspected his BR55. "Clean, but not clean enough." he blew into the barrel and made sure all of the powder was removed.

Sergent Jenkins picked up a heavy weapons crate. "Umph!" He allmost droped it." What the hell is in this one?" Jenkins asked himself. He carefully draged it off to one side and carefully set it on the ground. A small lable read "Fury". "s**t" Jenkins clicked the com, "Spartan 108 sir?.....I think you better take a look at this. Im over near the heavy arms crates sir." Jenkins watched for the Spartan with a worried look on his face.

He didn't bother responding as he swiftly walked over to where they had placed several crates, spotting the one who had called for his assistance and heading over. "What's the problem?"

Irika Kristi tried to sit up, but with what they were testing on she had been strapped down, "mathias... listen, i think im out of action for a while... these docs saw im ******** up . Something wrong with my blood or something hell i dont know" Mathias set his gloved down on Kristi's armored bicep and replied reassuringly to Kristi, "No worries soldier. Take it easy for awhile. The medics will do all they can to fix ya up...Stay strong. If you need me, I won't be far off." Mathias stood up and left the SPARTAN with a reassuring smile. Walking out of the tent he couldn't help but sigh...

"Big sir, but in a small package. 'Bout 1.2 km big. I found this near the bottem of the stack of heavy weapon crates." Jenkins opened the clips, turned the crate around and opened it, displaying two football shaped Fury Tactical Nukes.

Major Orden gazed upward, his line of sight partially following the ring of Halo as it curved up above him. He sighed as his mind ran over all the recent events. His battle rifle was held snugly in his right hand, the barrel casually aimed downward. (( sweatdrop It's been a good while...))
