Voice in thier mines had attracted attention. the mindless things simply reguarded the sound as intruders, and were well on the way to squishing. but once the voices left beyond the mines, they paid it no mind. thier numbers were getting bigger. copies of copies. The stranger had picked this mine for a purpose...becuase of the energy that the metla in the stone had absorbed. though at the time he'd only suspected a magical ore.

the magic retained basic information for his constructs. how to reproduce, to defend themselves and their 'territory', and what their territory was. However without their creator's will around anymore to give it boundaries...they simply considered all the mines theirs that they could reach.

defensively against weapons they were practically invincible, as stone bodies didn't feel pain, or cut very easy. magically they were vulnerable..but still quite strong because of the magic inherent in the rock they were made of, the side effect of the braziers used to light the mines...and probably one of the biggest reasons why they weren't just stone statues now and moving golems.

their offense, bludgeoning. they simply grabbed and pounded at whatever they had until it stopped making noise and stopped struggling. unfortunately, the making noise part also applied to the sound of squishing flesh and breaking bones...hence the pancake like appearance of thier victims.

One of Kyst's eyebrows rose, "Didn't we talk about that? I told you not to do something that you like because you think he'll like it too until after you've won him over. You like to watch other people surf, but Nilli likes to be doing things. He enjoys boating and fishing."

"I would have been okay, you know. A Queen can handle all sorts of situations." Not that she wasn't grateful for the help but sometimes Glynnic treated her like she was made of glass and she didn't like that. She wanted to be able to stand on her own two feet and make her people proud to have her as Queen. Their people, really. "I was going to check out the situation and then talk to you to see what you thought it might be or what we could do to stop it. Then I was going to call a meeting with Brigade and report it then figure out their plan of action. Daddy Kieran might have encountered it before, though."

"I didn't know he knew how to surf. We mostly do woodsy stuff though because that's what he wants to do and I'm a wood elf. As he puts it, I know all the junk that he doesn't. Though I haven't been able to spend time with anyone too much lately. The bleeding and all you know." Shrugging nonchalantly over it and watching between the two of them. Was there a little tension here?

"Yes, but checking out the situation alone was still a bad idea. What if whatever was doing that was down there still and you ran into it? What if it hurt you and no one else knew until it was too late to do anything about it to help you. I'm not saying you can't do things on your own, just sometimes you shouldn't."

"He has Galesen and I to make up for that." Kyst's head shook in dismay. "Galesen, when you were that young did you want to watch someone doing it? No. You wanted to go out there and be the best at it and half the time you probably fell on your a**. Don't take him to the surfing competition; take him surfing. He used to enjoy sitting and watching things when he was younger but he's older now. He wants to do, not just watch."

"Yes, I admit I didn't think that one all the way through. I should have at least taken someone with me. I did tell someone which I'm guessing is how you knew I was up there." She squirmed in his hold to be put down as they were nearing the bottom of the mountains and about to enter town. She needed to be a strong presence for her people. "Come on, let's go talk to Daddy Kieran and see what he thinks."

Luccan gave a look to Kyst and a shrug. Galesen's mind was made up apparently and it wasn't going to do the two any good to argue. Giving a sigh and wiping at his face again he plopped back into the grass with a sof thud and a light noise of pain. "Been a while since the three of us were together, hm?"

"Yes, and they were worried because they know you shouldn't be going out alone either. It's not about looking bad or not. Even I would take someone with me." Setting her down as she wriggled around some. "Well if we're going to see him, good thing I brought a horse. Let's mount up and head out the Pendant Isles."

"Of course, with it being a simple business transaction I'll be in and out of the tournament in no time." Galesen looked at the ice block some more, but his thoughts on other subjects were keeping him from actually finishing it, or at least working on it for awhile. "And I'm in the middle, one who likes to have a lot of fun but is also responsible and works hard." He grinned a little but before looking back to the two guys for a moment. "Still, it's good to be together again, we need to get together more often."

"And someone is bleeding all over his nice pants. Come on, Luccan, use that towel before you make a mess and my Queen brings a tidal wave on my head because I've gotten into trouble again." A shake of his head and he glanced at the statue. "When is it supposed to be finished by?"

"Yes, but it was worth a try." She wrinkled her nose and slapped the reins against the horses' flank to get him moving then gave a grin at the sight of her father. "Daddy Kieran, you could live in a palace befitting your station in life and instead you choose this. I'll never understand that." Shaking her head and giving him a hug and kiss on his cheek. "Well, we aren't here to tell you that I'm pregnant." She let silence move between them and then frowned. "There's...trouble in Lucana, Father. I came to see if you knew anything I did not."
