@kokori141: OMG!! NO WAY! Me too! eek heart I just don't like any of the active threads. sweatdrop I think I am going to make one. Do you like medieval type RP's? Mine will have several races, there will be magic and such, no gunpowder, and almost any type of Role Playing is welcome. You know, romance, violence, laziness, action, and more. You get the idea.
Anyways, that is my idea. I just need time, a setting, a plot, characters, and a map. 3nodding

@Babbalui: yes, i love medieval roleplays, i'll be keeping an eye out for it and i think i'm gonna do one of mine own. we'll see... if the juices flow i'll send it to a mod to get approval.

How about both of you help me out? I mean, we all want something seperate from the other RPs in the guild, so why not?
First things first, is there a specific thread that this type of discussion has to be taken to or can we talk about it here? If we can talk about it here, then what kind of ideas do you guys have?

Well, I think the idea can be made here, I don't really see any thread dedicated to rp planning. So, as is the design process with all things great, let the brainstorming begin. Personally I like a good war based rp. Several kingdoms fighting for power, then throw in some twist at some point that makes them form a fragile alliance later in. As for a map.... I somewhat have one..... let me just get the link.... right here.I also like an idea I somewhat experimented with. Let people either choose to be a part from a kingdom that already exists, or ask to create their own with history, races, and geography.

Sounds like fun Babbalui and Glitched. I personally like fantasy characters (the reason i joined the guild) and magic is a must have to me. Glitched has already mentioned the thing i've been looking for, a good war roleplay. I need battle practice and I've actually brainstormed about a battle system since gaia doesn't have one yet. battle system When a battle arises between a pair or group of participants, a panel of judges [most likely three mods] will [obviously what else would judges do] judge the battle on the following levels: creativity of attacks and defenses, originality of attacks and defenses, and plausibilty. Each one will be judged with a number out of five, one being the lowest, and five being the highest. The group or individual with the highest grade wins. No one dies unless they choose to do so. the whole mods thing can be changed... i just was thinking to have three unbiased judges who do not participate in the rp, just judge battles. It's an idea anyway. sweatdrop

Back in the day I used to rp in a place called Alleria.com. They basically had the whole judge thing done by moderators, and I suppose the same idea could be applied to large scale battles as well, depending on whatnot such as terrain, commanding skills, ect.
I doubt people would mind judging, though I imagine it could become slightly boreing. You could have the judge/s just not be a member of either side of the battle...... then again, some people like judging.

Alright, as for the fighting system...

In my guild, we do not have judges. We are all experienced role players and we know what our characters' limitations are. 3nodding So far, my character has faught 2 battles, won both, but he is also the most pwerful character amongst the rest at the moment, so it is understandable. I have also role played and lost many-a-time. 3nodding You just go by judgement. It just depends on how crafty you are. wink
Now, the plot... Setting... Err... We could be on a large continent with conflicts already made by our ancestors. 3nodding ((The part were you mentioned that we should be at war and then form a shaky alliance later on because of a bigger threat is kind of funny. That is exactly what is happening in both of my RP's! xd ))
Hmmm... We should have several races at war, actually. 3nodding We could have Drow, Moon/wood elves, Orcs/goblins, humans, barbarians, dwarves, frost giants/hill giants, and maybe throw in a few smaller groups for fun and maybe even a hand full of dragons! eek

Alright, but how about we don't make the conflict too personal. After all if everyone deeply despises everyone then most potentional alliances will be made almost impossible to have..... Course thats up to you.
Would you mind if I wrote the whatnot for the orcs and goblins? Also I was wondering if you were using that map I gave the link too, or if you found another one.

Alright, I will go and put everything together minus the story, alliances, characters, and the reason for war. My upcoming post/edit of this post will contain the map, setting, a little bit of the plot, what races are involved and their descriptions, where each race is located, the rules of the RP, and the fighting theme.
Did we agree on simply letting two or more individuals duke it out and be honerable in their decision of the victor? As in, no God-modding?
I think it will be fine to allow that, because the RP in my guild works just fine without judges. 3nodding
