"Yeah, I saw her. Abso-friggin-lutely adorable," said Esmeralda brightly, snagging a pear off her brother's plate and munching it. "Whose baby is she? I mean, besides Kelly's? She's a real cutie - Ariel, I mean. Well, Kelly's pretty cute, too, but Ariel doesn't look like her mom."
Roman smiled faintly, resisting the urge to laugh when Esmeralda stole his pear. "Why don't you get your own plate, Ez?" he asked lightly. He'd let Kahlilia tell Ez about Ariel.
"'Cuz yours is right there," she replied, taking another bite of pear. "Why go get my own when we have such similar taste in food anyway? I can just eat yours."

Xavier smiled and, taking his fork, took a bite of her mashed potatoes. "They are good," He agreed after he swallowed. Then, he picked up his fork again and put some macaroni and cheese on her plate, smiling. "And you should try this." He said to her.
Kahlilia couldn't help but giggle. "Well," She told Esmeralda, still smiling, "We're pretty sure that Phoenix is Ariel's dad." She was still smiling, very happy. She took a third bite and let her eyes do the 'smiling'. She swallowed and looked at Roman and Esmeralda. "Are you two twins, or no? Sorry - I'm really curious." She blushed for a split second, looked at her feet, and then back up, smiling.

"For serious?" blurted Esmeralda when Kahlilia told her who Ariel's father was. "But...isn't that Roman's horse? Holy cow, Roman, your horse is a daddy?" She turned beaming eyes up to him. "How cool is that?!"
Roman smiled a little. "We think it's pretty cool," he told his sister. Then he glanced over at Kahlilia, hearing her question. "No, we're not. Ez just forgets her place as the little sister," he joked, ruffling Esmeralda's hair.
Esmeralda gave him her best glare, but soon forgot about it in her excitement. "Yeah, he's two years older - and he never lets me forget it," she told Kahlilia with an exaggerated rolling of the eyes. "You know how boys are."

"Alright I will," Summer said smiling. She took her fork and tried the macaroni and cheese and said, "Wow they are good."

(Oh man, writers block over here :/ )
Xavier smiled. "Glad to hear that," He said and kissed her cheek. He couldn't help but think about the dare again and again and again, because he anticipated it and wanted it so much - it was like a child's want to open Christmas presents a week early. '"Why can't it be right now?"' He wanted her so much now, and nothing else in his mind seemed to matter. Once the dare actually happened later on tonight, he knew he would be... well, ecstatic, excited, everything.
Kahlilia giggled again and nodded. "Yeah," She said in a still giggling voice. She had no siblings, so of course, she was unable to relate to the situation. She was about to ask what it was like, but she kept her mouth shut, and just smiled. She was so happy that she was here right now with Roman and Esmeralda, even if they had just met.

((OOC: Yeah, tell me about it. D8 ))
"Ha," said Esmeralda teasingly, grinning at her brother even as she stole more food off his plate. "She agrees with me."
Roman laughed. "You girls," he said, adopting a pitiful puppy expression. "Always ganging up on a fellow until he doesn't know where he stands. It's enough to make your head spin."

Summer scooped up a big spoonful of food onto her fork and flung it at Xavier. She then yelled out, "FOOD FIGHT!"

The food hit Xavier directly on the top of his head. He exclaimed something in Spanish and flung food back at Summer, and just to make things fair began to pelt the others. One might have thought that he said "Come on, everybody, join the fun!" But it was one of those things where you don't remember exactly who said it or not. Xavier was laughing and talking very quickly in Spanish, to no one in particular.
Kahlilia shrieked and ducked when she saw that the couple across the room from them were starting a food fight. However, when she got back up to sit down she was laughing so hard she was wiping her eyes. "Oh my gosh," She said inbetween giggles. Before she had time to duck again, though, something hit her bare chest - she was wearing a tank top - and she burst into another fit of giggles as she wiped it off with a napkin.

Summer was hit right in the face by Xavier. She then threw food at everyone else then scooped at big glob in her hand and walked to X and pushed it right into his face.

Xavier made a muffled noise when Summer pushed food onto his face. He quickly wiped it off, but a lot of it still remained. He began to laugh again and stuffed part of a banana in her mouth in vengance.

Summer grinned then swallowed the banana, "That was a good tasting banana." She then grabbed a hand full of macaroni and cheese then shoved it in his mouth in retaliation.

Esmeralda merely leaned back a little and watched the fun, entirely too amused. She glanced at her brother out of the corner of her eye, but he seemed to have no interest in the food fight. He was just quietly finishing what was on his plate - that was Roman for you, she thought wryly. Saw no sense in wasting good food. 'Course, it might just have come from the time when their family had had nothing. They were much better off now, but still. Old habits died hard.
