:::Cora watched as Sato faded from her. She thought to herself that maybe she'd had better company, but at least he wasn't falling in love with her, or making her cry, or attacking her friends:::
:::She sighed, and after a good long pause, she grabbed the glass and wine bottle in one hand, and the chair she was sititng with the other, she carried them all lightly back to her room:::

Minka Voronkova let out an earsplitting yelp and backed into a corner of the Brink main room-- though she didn't know that's what it was yet. She had no idea where she was, and that's why she was terrified. She'd been walking through the alleys on her way home, and the next thing she knew she'd ended up here. As far as Minka knew, this was witchcraft or magic of some sort. Minka didn't believe in such things as that, but if they really did exist, she figured she was in trouble.

:::Cora edged down the length of the hall, she'd heard yelling, and poked her head in quickly to observe who had made the noise, and double check that everyone was safe. She could tell right away that the stranger in the hall must be a first timer by their reaction:::
:::She sighed quietly. She might have been feeling pretty awful lately, but she didn't have the heart to just let this poor person freak out. She emerged from the hall slowly as not to startle them:::

Minka was still startled. "Aaah! Who are jou!?" She shouted, pointing at Cora and trying to get further away from her, even though she was already backed into a corner. "Vhere am I?! Vhere is Minka?"

"Calm myself.. Okay.. Minka can do that..." Minka said to herself, trying to take deep breaths and ultimately failing. "But-- vhat happened? If this place is not normal, vhat is it? You said you vould explain youself, now explain!" She pointed at Cora again, seeming to go from scared to angry all of a sudden. Really, she was more frustrated than anything. Minka didn't like not knowing anything about her surroundings. It made her feel vulnerable, which she hated.

"B-Brink of Time? Vhat's that?" Minka had never heard the expression before. She knew what time was, and to a certain extent what a brink was, but the brink OF time? That made no sense, at least not to her. And what was this about people appearing and leaving at random..?

We think it is a place that exists outside of time. While you are here, no time passes in your world. When you go back, it will be exactly how you left it. We still don't know everything about this place...

Minka just nodded, wide-eyed. She tried sorting things out in her head, then decided she had to vocalize it. "So... in here, time passes, but.. outside, it does not? And... Minka appeared here at random...." She paused, still spooked. "Then.. who are you? Vhat time do you come from?" She still had a nagging feeling that all this was impossible and her co-workers had decided to play some kind of cruel, elaborate joke on her, but was willing to put it aside for a while.

My name is Cora, and from the way it looks, I come from a time far far ahead of yours. What year are you from?

Minka nodded. "Yes... Minka Petroyevna Voronkova..." She oftentimes didn't realize she was speaking in third person. Those that knew her considered it normal, but of course this.. Cora person didn't. "So... is nice to meet jou, Cora... Last Minka checked it vas... 1899. Vhere-- er, vhen are you from, then?"

"You're from.. the future?" Minka almost laughed, it was so absurd. But at the moment, she was too confused to do anything but stare at Cora in disbelief. "That's not possible.... This must be some kind of-- of joke... Vhat is really going on?"
