He nodded. "Yeah I can handle that. Name's Chris by the way." He wasn't sure he was telling the truth, but he would give it a shot. He was starting to feel a connection to this place and was willing to defend it.

He lifted him off the ground. What a great time for flight he tought He took off in a not so straight path to Fury and Castle

Billy peers down into his pocket, trying not to get distracted.

"Teddy, this is dangerous!"

Jennifer looked to Billy as the mages started to allow some of the gates to close as the student ranks in the diner were thinning out.

"Okay Kaplan, you're next!"

"What?"

"Go! Through the gate!"

"But...you guys need me!"

"We need to get the younger students out and you're the last freshman! Now MOVE! Don't make me get your boyfriend to drag you through kicking and screaming."

Chris shot the weapon Fury was setting up with a blast of heat vision. Castle looked up and fired. Chris wasn't fast enough to stop his weapon from being set up. He opened fired on Chris.

Chris barely managed to dodge. He figured the only thing he had going for him was that he was new and the teachers didn't know much about him or his power set. Below him he spotted Karen speed back to Powell. There was only one more student that needed to return. He hoped he didn't need to hold these guys off much longer.

"I SO WILL!"

From inside Billy's pocket, Teddy gave him a pinch.

The Rogues (And Wallace) walked down through a long, catacomb-like passage that led them ever further underground. As they walked, Lisa lectured Wallace.

"Up above us used to be the school's swimming pool. Back in 1939, when Hero High first opened, Principal Vandal Savage had a secret bunker built under the pool, where he would meet with Nazi agents to try to scientifically drain the powers of students and transfer them to make an army of Nazi superhumans."

Everyone stopped and stared at Lisa.

"What? Just because I'm pretty and popular doesn't mean I'm dumb. I'm a straight-A student, and I paid attention in History of Heroics."

The Rogues (And Wallace) arrived in the open area, now stuffed to the brim with the boys' devices and a huge pile of Hostess treats. Hartley set Wallace down on a make-shift couch built of what appeared to be oversize giant novelty boomerangs. The rest of the boys moved to their own corners of the lair, gearing up and preparing themselves.

"The only teacher who knows about this place anymore is Ms. Darkholme, and Officer Pezzinni shot her, Wallace. You're going to be safe down here."

Hartley ran a hand through Wallace's hair, soaked wet with sweat and pulled him into a private embrace while everyone else was involved with other things.

"You'll be safe, and me, Lisa and the guys are going to show these demons what happens when you try to take over Rogue territory."

He held onto him tightly, trembling slightly. He didn't want to be left alone, and he certainly didn't want Hartley to go back out into danger. It wasn't fair that he was so powerless in all of this, a civilian in a world of heroes. Normally, he was fine with being so simple, but when it came down to being able to defend the people he cared about or being defended, he preferred the former. All of the stupid daydreams he'd had of being the damsel in distress seemed stupid now that he was the one actually being saved.

Being saved was a relief, but it still sucked. He wanted to be just as useful as anyone else in the school, and he wasn't.

He didn't want to let Hartley go either, but he had to. Awkwardly, he made his way to the hostess snack cakes, picked one up, and headed over to the makeshift couch. He sat on it, and found it somewhat comfortable.

Wallace watched the Rogues, his stomach tightening into a cakey knot of worry. Hartley was going to go back out into danger, and he might not come back. He had almost died...and what if something happened to his boyfriend? Wallace choked down another bite of the cake, holding in a sob.

Wally zig-zagged across the plains of America, Barry close behind. Even going at breakneck speeds, Wally was thinking, trying to reason out what was going on.

Barry was the one who taught him all of his speed tricks. Why hadn't Barry caught up to him by now?

Possibilities: Barry was too angry to think straight. Barry was toying with him. It wasn't actually Barry. Barry wasn't in his right mind.

That last one tickled the side of Wally's brain as they crossed the Mojave desert for a fifth time.

Bing.

Bing bing bing bing bing.

Wally skidded to a stop in Red Rock Canyon and faced Barry, who coolly put on the brakes and faced down his protege.

"Tell me something!" Wally shouted across the distance between them.

"And what is that?" Barry's voice was cold but bemused, as if he was enjoying Wally's desperation.

"Once we're done with finals...what do you plan on doing with all the students?"

Barry smirked. Wally scowled. Barry NEVER smirked.

"Of all the students in Hero High, Wallace, I thought you would understand...the importance of making the ultimate sacrifice."

Wally screamed in rage and dashed at Barry, moving so fast that the friction turned the sand to glass under his feet.

"TRIGON!!!!!!!!"

Barry was tackled, and the two bodies skidded for half a dozen miles before coming to a stop. Wally pulled himself up slowly, painfully...his body covered in scrapes from hitting the ground during his outburst.

Barry was laughing.

It was a quiet laugh at first...getting louder and louder. Wally pulled himself apart from his uncle and the laugh redoubled in mirth. Barry stood up, himself covered in dust and scrapes, and just laughed, and laughed and laughed.

"Trigon will take this world and make it his own. The sacrifice of hundreds of innocent students will be enough to finally, completely draw him from his own dimension into this one. No more need for these human puppets. All of Trigon's children will be free to do with this world as they want!"

It was all the confirmation Wally needed. All of the teachers hadn't turned evil - they were possessed! Wally gave his uncle one more look....and then vanished like a shot. Barry watched him go, his laughter finally falling away.

"Go where you want, little one. You are not strong enough to stop what is about to happen."

And Barry vanished, returning to Hero High.

It didn't take long for the Rogue Boys (and girl) to get outfitted, considering the practice they'd been having lately raiding convenience stores and finer bakery outlets.

Leonard, wearing his iconic fur-lined parka, held up his cold gun, fully charged and ready to go. Evan had his gun, a strange contraption with mirrors jutting out from the barrel, at the ready. Digger wore a bandolier covered in boomerangs of different sizes. James held up a deck of cards and a rubber ducky. Lisa finished tying the laces of her skates.

"We're a pretty motely crew, aren't we?"

Hartley sat down next to Wallace, a new flute in one hand and a tuning fork in the other.

"We're not even really friends, I don't think. We're just united by...something. Some need."

Hartley couldn't really verbalize it to Wallace, but he felt it was important Wallace understood. Lisa skated over, her special skates creating ice for her as she moved, and she had a seat on Wallace's other side.

"Sorry Wallace, but your wicked powers of gossip-mongering and instant make-outs probably won't be too useful on this excursion."

Hartley chuckled...even if it was really not an appropriate time for it.

"I don't know, I think maybe all we need to stop Doctor Strange is one brave person willing to undergo the worst french kiss in all of recorded history."

"Oh, I bet you're right," Lisa replied, her eyes sparkling. "So he's actually a monster, I've dated worse. I mean, I let Chris Powell touch my boobs."

Hartley patted her sympathetically on the shoulder. Hartley took Wallace's hands in his, and looked in his eyes.

"So Wallace will be our secret weapon, then. If all else fails, Wallace, and the teachers find our hideout and decide to sacrifice us all in a bloody ritual, promise me you'll go out SEXY."

Chris flew in to close the gap. He figured that Castle's weapon wasn't going to too effective up close. He knew his best chance was to bring the fight to him. He was wrong. Chris flew in and was ready to throw a punch.
Castle was holding another weapon in hand. This one was smaller and seemed to be better fitted for shorter distance. Chris didn't have time to react. The trigger was pulled and Castle smiled.

Chris was hit square in the chest. He fell to the ground, landing with a loud thud and groaning in pain. He couldn't get up he had gotten the wind knocked out of him. He shuddered at the thought of what that would have done to a normal student. These teachers weren't pulling their punches. By the time he got up he could see Castle was ready for another assault.

Wallace had been feasting on spongy cakes, eating Twinkies like a champion. (Or your average teenage boy.) Starting on a fresh Twinkie, he bit the end off. With one of his fingers, he reached inside, wiggled it about, and pulled out all of the filling. He popped his finger in his mouth, then looked at the spongey cake that was left over. Suddenly, it was far less appealing.

He ate it anyway, and by the time he had finished Hartley and Lisa were sitting on either side of him. He understood why Hartley hung out with the people he did, and he listened patiently. He even heard the part where his powers of gossip mongering and make outs were mentioned. And it was also made apparent that he was useless.

For now. But he'd change that. He'd do something about it, because he wasn't going to be pathetic forever. For now, he'd take it calmly, and he'd remain behind, a wreck. But he wouldn't be that way forever.

And so, he kissed Hartley on the cheek. "I'll even video tape it." With a sigh, he popped open another Twinkie, then slouched back in the couch. "Good luck."

In Blackhawks... several students were taking the distraction as an opportunity to escape. Bart only aided in the evacuations.. Zinda looked at him.

" Co'mon kiddo it's time to go."

Bart shook his head he was staring at a girl who was all by herself in corner and wearing dark robes. This girl was Raven and the young speedster went up to her.

" I know that you know what's going on. Yet you're just standing here in the corner. Why don't you do something about it? Why don't you stop it?"

Bart had a serious look on his face... Iris was from the future and vaguely remembered some of the old stories her dad use to tell her about when he was growing up.. Zinda gave Bart a weird look. What the heck was he talking about?Raven was shaking...

" don't you think I want too?.."

Was all she could say.
