K-Blade (tugs on your rob) you forgot about the Bathurst and me Master. sad the bathurst falls under sabercat squadron, and ritt is on that list too. If i controlled other people's PCs, though, you'd have to indirectly toss skuld, oryo, and maybe even Cene on there too... And technicallly, since your padawan has never seen the gryphon fighter, which is only seen in lyra space forces, she can't lock horns with it. ergo, no metagaming.

Well, you are sorta controlling what my character does, indirectly, more-or-less. Not only are you my squadron leader, your also my master.
*pouts big ol’ watery puppy dog eyes * Yes master. *sniffles and goes and run twenty laps around the Bathurst to get it out of her system. *

They don’t tell padawans where the ship is, and I’m luck to even know where we’re going.
But your fighter looks really nice Fury. Bet it’ll look even nicer going down in flames. 4laugh

Darth Fury Cale Darksun What Mercenary Artillery boats? And Nelo NPC's the Sith Council, I NPC the Republic. I thought that was clear from early on. I didn't know that. Me neither. Is this a revelation to just us two?

Nelowulf You do realize that all cale needs to do is call a tactical orbital bombardment, and he knocks down the shield, though... Or just use some of those mercinary artillery boats to blast it with a couple of particle weapons, and the shields aren't much of a problem. If it was that easy than why did even our infamous Grand Admiral have to use trickery to bypass such defenses?
I'm not expecting the shields to hold the Republic at bay forever, just long enough for me to react. That's what they're for, after all...

Because Thrawn didn't have the time to resort to conventional tactics, did not have the artillery to lay siege, and had to make do with what he had; The Katana Fleet, Cloaking Devices, Clones, and a crazy Dark Jedi.

You never saw Thrawn lug a torpedo sphere around everywhere, that's a big issue for one. He rarely had an ISD to orbitally bombard with, much less a group of them to barrel down. If you read up on planetary shields, they do require a bit of a punch to knock down. If nothing else, consider ESB, which had too strong a deflection screen to orbitally bombard, so they entered a ground assault. There's about a million ways to go around such a trite obstacle. Which is why it's considered nothing better than a passive defense to many.
As for not knowing the leaders of factions, consider this: Who handles sith bios? Who handles jedi bios? Usually the mods of the RP handle specific-wide factions, due to a number of issues. The person who controls the influx usually is the person who works with the other side to maintain balance of the profiles as well as integral story components. As me and Cale tend to be the primary duo in the RPs, this duty almost always falls upon us, unless there is a specific exception to the rule.
when it comes to neutral factions, it's usually dependent upon a mutual review, unless it's a third side, like in legacy era, in which case a third mod will coordinate existances between battles.
If you wish to actually try doing this annoying job of review and critique of every person joining your faction to get the added bonus of controlling it, you should speak up in the planning process of the next rp. It does almost require a constant vigilance though; as me and cale are almost impossible to not get on everyday, it just makes things easier if we control it. not like i'm not up for letting someone else try to do the ever annoying task of fitting everyone in a good niche to help drive the story along.

Moreover the reason Thrawn didn't use orbital bombardment was he wanted the planet and facilities intact. Any bombardment that brings down planetary defense shields tends to do significant infrastructure damage.
Does the Republic need to worry about infrastructure damage? Not really.
