White Day is the paired holiday to Valentine's Day, at least in Japan. Over there, Valentine's is the day when girls give chocolate or homemade cookies to that special someone. (As well as coworkers, close friends and the like, but that's sort of secondary.) White Day is generally the day when boys give a treat back to the girls who gave them something. There was a hierarchy, I believe store bought was 'no thanks', homemade cookies was 'let's be friends', and chocolate was 'i love you too' or something like that? As well, for couples who are already together, it can be a good time to buy her a special gift, like a watch or coat, and so on and so forth.
