"I don't want to leave you," he said, standing up and taking Hartley's hand once more. Quickly, he looked about for Teddy or Billy, albeit his main concern was his roomie. "Where's Teddy?"

Billy and Teddy followed as Jennifer approached Chris with the gathered heavy hitters.
She said, "Depending on power levels, I think the students who distract the teachers should be the upper level grades. It might be too dangerous for freshmen and sophomores. The others we can open a gate to evacuate everyone to a safer place. That is once we find one."
Billy frowned and looked at the others gathered.
"Excuse me, but I am NOT being left behind while the others are fighting!"

He spotted Teddy off with Billy, being dragged along by him. Well, at least they were both ok. "I just want to hide until this is all over." All of this under his breath, all tiny confessions for only Hartley to hear.

The building was rocked with a crashing noise. Outside, Diana Prince was throwing hunks of concrete at the restaurant.
"FINISH YOUR FINALS, STUDENTS! INSUBORDINATION WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!"

Cassie didn't move when Chris hugged her. She was blinded by rage. Her brother...her dear brother who always looked out for her..who always protected her. She heard Wally talking to Chris.
" We fight! Whether we win or not is irrelavant... We fight!"
Cassie looked at the worried glances she got from the student body.
"Any of you who wish to leave no one will stop you! But I'm going to fight!"
Kori then stood up.
"Me too!"
Bobby Drake also came next to Cassie.
"I'm in.."
The three students started to make their way to the doors... ready to fight a fight they KNEW they could NOT win.

Wallace heard the crashing of the rocks, and he winced, squeezing Hartley's hand. "I'll just go...maybe if they get their sacrifice, the rest of you can get on with your lives." He reluctantly let go of Hartley's hand, gave him a grim smile and headed towards the doors.

We have a secondary mission. Wally tells me that Achilles needs a rescue. Wally and Cassie run and grab him while these others cover the escape. And Billy, we'll need all the magic users for the escape and buffing our front line tanks.
Wally, you and Cassie run and get Achilles. Do NOT engage any teachers unless you HAVE to. Getting out of here has to be our priority. We need to fall back and reorganize.

Although he was a freshman and his powers weren't what one would call 'perfect,' Billy stood up beside Cassie. He cringed when there was another shock of mortar meeting restaurant but quickly regained his composure.[
"I'm fighting!"
Billy nodded at Chris and turned to Jennifer who sighed.
"Let's go kiddo. Get all the mages together!"
Billy and Jennifer hurried off.

Chris felt the building shake. He saw one of the teachers outside hurling concrete in their direction. A huge piece crashed through one of the windows. Chris sped over and managed to catch it before it landed.
"I think they found us"

*Chris ran and blocked the door.*
We will fight but fight smart. But a head to head right now is not the answer. We need to time to reorganize and rest. Look at everyone. They're scared out of their wits. We need to help them.
*Chris lowered his voice.*
People like Lois and Wallace have no powers. We need to fall back.

Wallace had already put his hand on the door, ready to push out. "Look, they just want a sacrifice, and I was already there. So...maybe if I give them what they want, they'll leave you guys alone. I'm not a real hero anyway, so...it's no big loss." Wallace gave Chris a crooked smile, "I want to keep Hartley safe."

Cassie paid no attention to Chris. She didn't care what he had to say... so great was anger... She could feel her blood boiling inside of her. Cassie saw Diana attacking the building Cassie flew straight at her.
"DIANA!!!"
Fighting her mentor, her brother turned to stone, Cassie could feel her heart breaking but she didn't care. If she could make sure Chris, Wally, Danielle, Teddy, Hartley, and Billy were okay ... then it would be alright. Even if she got floored into the ground... even if she died... knowing they were safe was what mattered. Diana blocked everyone of Cassie's attacks still Cassie came at her with a mad fury of kicks and punches.
