"Oh.... sometimes fruit, and it's always things I can eat with my hands, which si good because that's easier, but I have a really neat small fork and knife for myself," she nodded, "It was made a short while a go.... I haven't been here that long."

"I see," Elrohir nodded, exiting the stairs and starting down the hall. "And how do you like it here so far?"

Lin thought about it silently for a while, thinking about all hte interesting things.
"It's fun, I get to learn lots of things and do stuff, and listen to stories."

"I see," Elrohir nodded yet again. "And who else have you met? Or been spending time with? Since I know you haven't been up on the mountain when Earendil has been," he looked down at her reproachfully, "so what else have you been up to?"

"I stay with Sir Valdemar," Lin explained back with a smile, "We talk, and he tells stories and he lets me do brush work and we go to the library, and he asks me about home."
He was perhaps the most interesting person to talk to well that and then...
"There's Mikal, and we talk too!"

Mikhail and Sir Valdemar, the two scholars. Yes, that would make sense.
"I would have thought you'd be with Daeron or Tinuviel," he commented. "Why aren't you?"

"Because they aren't here!" Lin explained as if the answer was most obvious.
Of course she had not known that those two were here earlier when her father and brothers arrived.
"Earendil said they went to travel."
She didn't know where though or why, at least she didn't think she did.

"They went traveling?" Elrohir was stunned. Of course Daeron would, that wasn't surprising: he often went traveling, only with his mother's blessing of course. But Tinuviel? There was no way even Luthien would have let her go - it was far too dangerous, and she was the one who above anyone else needed to be kept safe!

"That's what Earendil said," Lin confirmed it so that he wouldn't think she was making things up, "He said they went off traveling, which was sad then they could have met Nina and me."
She wondered if there was something wrong with that.

"And do you have any idea where they might have gone?" Elrohir pressed, wondering how Tinuviel might have gotten permission to go somewhere. It must have been somewhere important ...

"Uhm....."
Lin tried to think as she put a finger to her lips thinking hard about that and back on any conversation she might have had.
"Something about grandmother?"

"Ah," Elrohir nodded. "Daeron must have gone to visit Mother again."
He still hadn't been able to bring himself to do the same, but there it was. That was just him.
"I wonder how Tinuviel got permission to go with him this time," he commented.

Lin sat back looking a bit curious herself, though she had a funny feeling that Tinuviel never got permission, but she didn't think it was a good idea to tell Elrohir that.
"I don't know, they were long gone, maybe they'll come back soon," she reasoned, not knowing how far away this "Mother" was.

"If they were gone to see Mother," Elrohir shrugged, "not for several weeks. Ah well."
He entered the Dining Hall and took a seat, setting Lin on the chair beside him.

Lin looked up at the table and realized that Elrohir did not know about the exception to the rule about not sitting on tables. How could she sit on a chair anyhow?
"Up! Please......." she added, "I can't reach."
