The Chief shrugged, sitting back in his chair, rifle in his lap. "Seems the battle's turning our favor. Powers back, we got a bit more firepower at our disposal." He shook his head. "Gonna be hard getting this city back on it's feet."
He glanced back at Sahira. "I'm touched, Ra. I think I might have to return the favor."

"Sure thing, Dark-eyes, touch me anytime." Sahira gave him a gold-eyed wink.

Minerva's knuckles were white on the steering wheel. "I'm not above shooting either of you. I mean it."

"You needa calm down, Cross. Get worked up before a fight, you'll be so grumpy you can't fight right."

"Noone fights better grumpy. You make mistakes, and you get people killed that way. No extra lives here. You die, you stay dead." The Chief's demeanor got serious. "You get pissed about something unrelated to the fight, then that's one more way you can get careless."

"You get pissed about something unrelated to the fight, then that's one more way you can get careless." "You've never seen me fight. But if you want me calm, take your lectures and apply them somewhere else. You're just pissing me off."

The Chief shrugged. "To each their own then, I suppose. Don't think I ever seen a single person fight angry and well at the same time. Gonna surprise me?"

"It clears my mind of worries, it focuses it on a target, and it eliminates any fear." Minerva nodded, "I fight much better when grumpy."

Sahira stayed quiet in the conversation. With her previous work, she would agree with the cheif, anger was a bad thing in a fight, but on a battlefield she'd seen rage keep a man alive and fighting when he should have been on the ground barely able to crawl. Her contributions would have costed an explanation....and a few of those explanations she wasn't quite ready to give up yet.

((At least you let me in said vehicle.)) Sean watched as they went, keeping an eye out. "Looks like Lockes forces are on the move to the outer limits of the city. Must mean Jerhic and the rest of the herd broke through to the City itself." He took another look, "And like Xeen said, we want to be quick, to beat the Enforcers." He was silent again, "Why is he helping us? The dealings with Xeen or Ora haven't begged them as the lies and deciet kind of people. Why start now?"

((bah, we wouldn't have left without you)) "Don't trust him for a second, Eldst." Minerva glanced back at him briefly before turning back to the road. "Soltari may help us for a moment, but you can damn well assume it's helping him too, just have to figure out exactly how."

Minerva the Marvelous ((bah, we wouldn't have left without you)) "Don't trust him for a second, Eldst." Minerva glanced back at him briefly before turning back to the road. "Soltari may help us for a moment, but you can damn well assume it's helping him too, just have to figure out exactly how." "Just so long as I'm not totally insane for thinking that we shouldn't trust him. He's been supporting Malador this whole time, but I think the tables have turned on Soltari and now he's being held at gunpoint, by Malador or someone else. He mentioned that Malador had access to the President's launch codes."

"Shut up, Cat, or you'll be losing one of those nine." Minerva turned her attention back to Eldst and swore. "He has the launch codes? To the nukes? Oh hell....." She stepped on the gas a bit harder, they needed to get to Bolton and quickly.
