I've only just begun my pokemans adventure of Pearl, but I can't wait to gather up all the beatiful ground types. And finally, years of selective breeding of my Rhydon's and Rhyhorns can extend further. Not to mention that the standard 'three stage dragon' is a ground type as well. SO HAPPY! HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY I LOVE GROUND TYPES YAYAYAYAY!

Wow, a ground type user. surprised I have a Nidoking on my LeafGreen game. And a Flygon on my Sapphire game. They kick a**.
So you started with Turtwig then I presume? And I have a Rhyperior and a Garchomp :} I need to train them both, but I'm more preoccupied with completing my dex right now then anything. And getting more ribbons for my darling Milotic~ ♥

Actually, I started with Chimchar. I refer to myself as the Volcano Trainer, because I use ground/rock/fire teams almost entirely. I know that if I come across a water type I'm screwed but I just love those types far too much to use anything else.XD

The Volcano Trainer is an awesome trainer title! I wonder what mine could be..
I started with Piplup on my Diamond, because Empoleon is awesome. But I recently restarted my Japanese Pearl and ended up choosing Chimchar just to see what the fuss was about it - Chimchar ended up being an awesome starter Poke, even with the first gym and everything. xD
Water Pokemon ftw. I love Lumineon, even if its essentially Sinnoh's version of Seaking, but without all the '******** yeah' attached. :'< And then there's my Milotic; which I never though I'd love as much as I do. I got a Feebas from an egg on my Emerald game, and then, as if by fate, the Master PokeBlock Blender was there in my game, so I was all, "O hay, I might as well make some poke-blocks for contests/evolve my Feebas" and my newly evolved Milotic (at level 6, lawl) completely dominated both the cute and beauty contests. And I just completely adored her.
I also like posion types. Not sure when I started liking them, I think it might have been with Crobat back in GSC. Poison types are just awesome though, like Toxicroak. Finally there's normal types which I loved back from RBY and my most favourite Pokemon ever - Rattata/Raticate. I don't have a reason why its my favourite. After picking Bulbasaur as my starter, I walked out of Pallet Town and the very first Pokemon I saw was a Rattata and I just fell in love with it, and I knew I had to catch one as soon as I got some Pokeballs (I always imagined my Rattata to be a light blue before I saw its art/colors though xD oh well)

For me, it's the water type. XD;
I don't know why but I know for sure that I always seems to go for Poke'mon that are water-type ever since I played Poke'mon Blue. Squirtle and Totodile Evolution line is probably one of my favorite. But really, I like most type of Poke'mon if it looks cool or cute. XD;
But it doesn't mean I will use only water-type Poke'mon on my team because I like to have things balanced out so I have different types.
And don't worry Jen. Aren't we all Poke-nerds? (Well, at least most of us are. XP )

I prefer Fire type. My first starters were Charmander and Cyndaquill. X3 So cute. I should go back and finish playing Crystal. Or silver. I can't remember.

I've always liked different starters for each gen, so I'm not partial to any specific starter type.
For Kanto I originally started with Bulbasaur back in Blue, but when I played LeafGreen for the first time, I chose Squirtle, and Squirtle's been my favourite ever since.
In Johto I choose Cyndaquil on my Silver game, and I've loved the Typhlosion line ever since. I also had a Meganium on my final team that I traded for, but out of the two Cyndaquil is my favourite. Out of all the Kanto/Johto starter the only one I haven't trained is a Totodile. Speaking of Gold and Silver.. do you know there might be a remake? Its no coincidence that the D/P games have Johto data in them. biggrin
For Hoenn and my Ruby game I originally chose Torchic because "zomg so cute". However I never felt right with Blaziken as my starter. It was a cool Pokemon, and I loved the Brick Break move, but I don't know.. it never felt like my loyal starter Pokemon. When I finally got my Emerald game I started with Treecko to be different, and just fell in love. Silva is now my strongest Poke on Emerald. Evantaully I'll clone him and send him over to Diamond, but for now I'm just happy trying to beat the Battle Frontier with him. I feel the closest to my Sceptile then I have with any starter I've trained, and I can't bear to put him out of my team. I've also trained a Mudkip/Swampert.
Finally in Sinnoh I started with Piplup. I adored Piplup the best from the starters from the first time they were revealed, but I was waiting to see their final forms until I made a decision. When I saw Piplup's final form was a dual water/steel type, that finalized my decision. The game was very hard for me with Piplup, but I kept on and finally beat the Elite Four. ;; Recently I started the game again on my Japanese Pearl and started with Chimchar, an excellent starter. I'd even go so far as to say that Chimchar is the easiest starter for in-game. I haven't trained a Turtwig, and I probably am not going to now.
Following this pattern, I think that if there's a 5th gen, my favourite will probably be a fire type. surprised ♥

I really don't like how all the final forms of the new starters look but I'll choose Piplup as my starter if I ever get Diamond. (To get it, I will need to get a Nintendo DS first. XD; )
I chose Mudkips as my starter in Sapphrine game so I can probably safely bet that I'm going to choose a water type Poke'mon again in the next new Generation of Poke'mon... if there is going to be one.
Remakes of Gold and Silver? I never heard about it. If they're actually going to do it then I wonder if it'll be for Gameboy Advance or Nintendo DS? Probably DS. XD;
I think I'll go start playing my FireRed and LeafGreen thanks to you Poke'MANs. XD

With the exception of Silver, in which I choose the crocodile dude, I've always taken fire. I love those little guys and they're pretty much always the most powerful, at least in the attack department which is my main selling point for stats.
And oh lord I hope there's no Gold/Silver remake, that was by far the worst pokémon game ever and playing it was actually a terrible chore that slowly drove me mad.
And Ilyuhin, I know it sounds dumb, but if you like water and poison types, I hereby knight you the Pollution Trainer.

THE POLLUTION TRAINER. Good lord, that.. that's wonderful. surprised And it fits too! I need to make a purely poison/water team now in order to use that title.
And yeah, I think that GS remakes would be on the DS too. One of those screens on the bulbapedia page say "Apparantly met" like regular trading in between Diamond and Pearl. However the other says "Arrived at" like when you import Pokes from FRLG/RSE. Maybe they'll have two versions; on GBA and DS, like Mystery Dungeon?
I think that GSC were the easiest game out of the four regions; I mean, Falkner's strongest Poke was level 9. Level 9! For a Gym Leader! D: Going by levels.. I'd say that Johto was the easiest, with Hoenn next, then Sinnoh, finally good ol' Kanto as the hardest of the games, especially with the upgrade the E4 got in FRLG once you had done all the Sevii island stuff.
I enjoyed GSC because it was such a big game including two regions, all the new Poke, and importantly, in Crystal, the first time you could be a female trainer :'D Which I had wanted ever since the days of RB. I wish my Silver game hadn't reset itself. ;; I had.. Typhlosion, Meganium, Umbreon, Lugia, Raticate.. and idk, some random water Pokemon? I don't remember. Possibly the Red Gyarados.
Oh yeah, Void, you don't have to call me by my username, you can call me Jenny just like everyone else here. :} ♥

Why thank you. *Is honoured.*
I was far too bored with GCS. I've even forgotten the side story, about whatever nutso team there was. I didn't much like the new pokemon from that either, with the exception of the most amazingly beatiful and perfect *Rambles on* Tyranitar. SO...perfect...
On the note, we HAVE to do a pokemanz roleplay at some point, our totally oppisite teams would rock the socks. X3
Oh, and by the way, everyone is free to call me Craig or Cry if they want.

Void: Why the name Cry? Not trying to be picky or anything, just curious. It's interesting for a name to call you by. XD And I'm kind of already used to calling you Void but I could call you Craig or Cry from now on if that's what you really prefer. ^^
And I don't really even remember much what happened in Gold/Silver. I just thought that FireRed and LeafGreen came out because there was Poke'mon Green in Japan but it was never made here so they decided they should make a Green version, not to remake all of the old Poke'mon games. o.o;
I would like to mention that I like me some ghost Poke'mon too beside water, especially Haunter and Gengar. Spiritomb looks really cool too. Too bad I heard that it's hard to get... if that's true?
I have a Poke'mon question! A lot of times, I try to find the right names for my Poke'mon that would have the Name Rater go "zomfg da best name evah!1" but I phail at that miserably. Does anyone here ever got a right name for their Poke'mon? If so, does it really make any differences or no? XD;
Edited: *goes off to get her own black digivice Nancy has in her signature.* XD

Dammit, I'm so lost on all this Pokemon chat, I actually went to the Official Website to figure out who the HECK you guys were talking about. xd I've never played the games, and haven't watched the show in quite awhile....
Alot of the new Pokemanz seem to be looking...meaner? Compared to how many cutesy ones there were in the beginning of it all. Regigas' something I'd probably see in a nightmare. xd (Same with Giratina, but, y'know, he's a ghost Pokemon. Kinda supposed to be that way.) I like Chatot, though; lovebird-looking pokemon FTW. heart Stunky and Purugly made me LOL, too. And the fact they have a Beaver-ish pokemon in Bibarel give me a bit of Canadian pride. I think I have a thing for Grass and Normal/Flying pokemon overall.
...Don't really know what else to contribute to the convo besides this. sweatdrop
