>>She nodded slightly, allowing a faint smile on her lips as the doors closed behind themn. The shadows lengthened with the loss of light, making an almost quiet feel engulf them. Besides the four hallways around them, there were two doors directly ahead, one to each side of the Y stem. One lead to the waiting room, and the other went to a rather large closet<< Left? >>Her gaze moved to the side, peering down the hallway to their right. Down there were bedrooms, bathrooms, art rooms, and a staircase leading down to the dungeons that held prisoners and their treasury room. Ever so subtly, she squeezed his hand and stepped towards it<< As you wish.
((grrr! Computer froze on me when I was halfway through anon's response -.- now this post sucks. >>sighs<< anyway, do ya mind if I fast forwards with 'lines next post? I'd rather not go through every single bedroom of an entire castle))
>>and the blush was back! Her wings shifted uncomfortably, an arm reaching across her stomach to grip the opposite arm and dig her nails into it<< Heh...I'll try not to, promise. >>If they had gone through the same as her, would they be better or worse? Would they curl up in the snow, screaming uncontrollably? Somehow...she couldn't see that. Ginny seemed too tough for that<< And don't worry about it. I can fly myself home, really. I just need a direction. I can use the alone time to think afterall.

"As I wish? Maryline... don't care which way we go first. Just awesome seeing the place where you grew up. It's like you: the dream I didn't know I had." Smiling as he rubbed his thumb over the back of her hand Zell hoped he made sense.

>>She stopped, the smile dying completely as she looked up at him. A flash of confusion, her tone soft<< I understand Zell...you do not know the layout of the castle. >>Maryline slipped her hand from his, all at once not wanting his touch<< ...I only wished to include you. >>The princess clasped her hands infront of her so he could not reclaim it, before walking down that left hallway<<
((S'all good... sweatdrop can't exactly do that speed up post though. Zells shortness with her the last two posts has Maryline freaking out
Maryline: >>shoots tartara a look, fingers tightly locked together<< I am not 'freaking out'.

((Well... fewmets...))
Zell looked like he had been hit with a ton of bricks. huh? The Hell...? The energetic SeeD just stood there, completely motionless for... well it was hard to say how long as Maryline walked away. Long enough he had to fall into a jog to get catch up to her. His chest was aching, his young face not even bothering to hide his confusion. Nor his worry.
He must not have said it right. Dammit. He knew as his mind replayed her smile dying and the quick flash of confusion in her bright blue eyes, killing him a little inside. So much for trying to say something classy like a poet or something. He did better just being himself.
And being himself, Zell didn't bother trying to get her hand back. A slight touch at her elbow as he jogged around her -almost as if using her as a pivoting post, to an observer. The fistfighter did not give her any chance to use her dancer's moves to avoid him, arms gently but firmly encircling her waist as with a choked sound he pulled her against him and lay his head to hers -shaking slightly. "Sorry... I... 'Line... ya are. It's so darn cool... it's hard to know what to think. If I get myself to think in a way where I can make such decisions... 'Line I dun wanna miss anything! This place... growing up here made ya the woman-princess I love, girl. Makes it about the most important place that exists..." Zell drew back his head just enough so his hazel-blue eyes could caress her silken heart-shaped face. "Just a bit... awed, ya know? So much to take in... an' I dun wanna miss a thing 'cause it's part of you."
Gentle pleading. He so wanted her to understand, but Zell feared he just didn't know the words to explain himself.
((I apologize for what might be god-modding in not letting Maryline have a way out during that... but ... well I hope it makes sense he'd just do everything possible at that moment to make her understand and he feels he has to so yeah. *Hugs*))
Standing, Percy strode with single-minded intent to put his empty cup on the counter. "Oh sure. I can go places all by myself too. Doesn't change that he should see you safely home, after bringing you here." He tried to ignore his baby sister's argument, knowing getting involved would only make it worse. Instead he went to the door, opening it for any who were inclined to leave. Finally looking up at Anon he made a half hearted gesture to the door -a hint at an act of gallantry that seemed intentionally minimized. "If you're worried about time there's no need to argue."

>>She was getting some good distance in with this. At first she was shocked -and a little hurt- when she didn't hear him following. It just wasn't Zell. And she would hope, more then anyone else, that she knew her fistfighter. But she didn't turn her head, didn't slow or quicken her pace, her hands remaining clasped. She was just about to turn into a room when she at last heard it. The pound of feet on the stone floor. A moment she hesitated, but that was all he needed as she felt his hand on her elbow, causing her to freeze before she walked into him. He had her then, trapped against his shaking body<< Zell... >>He pulled back, but all it did was have her head lower, eyes focused on his chest. She hadn't placed her arms around him, she didn't move an inch, her body simpy 'there'<< I understand that everything is so overwhelming...simply...I do not know if I can handle your sudden irritation regarding this place. It pains me to stand here, in a world that no longer exists. Every moment tightens my chest. >>This place, where she grew up. It was a challange not to go through every inch of the castle, touching everything she could in rememberance. The sense of relief and security she felt returning here was akin to the one she felt upon returning to Zell. However, this was all just a memory<< Though the greater hurt, is the thought of your indifference.
((S'all good. 'Line has to learn to stop kicking puppies stare
Maryline: >>deeply sighs<<))
But I've already inconvenienced you guys enough... sweatdrop >>Percy strode towards the door. The door she was standing by, looking at Ginny. The door suddenly opened, causing the female to turn to Percy. A spike of fear, the female stepping to the side, away from him, but her legs wouldn't take it. Her bottom hit the ground as both arms went around to catch her. Red lines apeared on her arms as her nails were ripped away from flesh, bleeding. SMASH! And mug hit floor, shattering. Her heart was racing, blood on fire as it coursed through her veins<< Don't come near me. >>She spoke coldly up at the male. Colder then winters heart<<
((If this keeps up, they might think she has MPD!))

"Irritation?" The word fell softly in incredulous disbelief. "Indifference?" There was anguish in word echoed in eyes Maryline could not see. His left arm circled further around her, drawing Maryline closer despite her hands between them. "oh Hyne!" His right came up her side, over her shoulder and along her neck to gently lift her face to his. "Line... I don't feel either of those." Hazel-blue eyes looked with entreaty in hopes of finding the right words as he cupped her cheek tenderly in his palm. His chest rose and fell almost painfully, his grip around her one of need but of the heart or soul not the body.
"Wanna know what I'd like? To go everywhere, see everything, and for ya to tell me whatever tales or stories from your life that goes with them that strikes you. Joy or tears or falling down and scraping your knee. Just because I don't know what to choose doesn't mean I don't care 'bout seeing or learning or anything like that. It's like kissin' your right or left cheek... doesn't matter 'cause I intend to see to both and everything in between."
Gently he stoked her chin. "I care, 'Line. Care so much can hardly think much less decide anything. But if ya want me to pick the turns and things I'll do it. No sweat. Just... tell me how a can dull your pain, make this easier for ya and I'll do it."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Oh, it's no inconvenience. We do this all the ti... *gasp*"
The wizard was too stunned to even flinch. He stood there, dark eyes behind his glasses wide and shocked. Then hurt. Percy felt a lurching in his chest even as a cool mask fell over his features. Protection. "I can take a hint. Ginny, Please see Miss Anon out and ask Hemi to see to her hands." When had his wand gotten into his hand? He sent all the pieces of glass into the pewter base of the drinking vessel as he spoke and then as he was finished, dissapparated from the room without further sound. A look of hurt and confusion flashed painfully across his face the second before he was no longer there.
Ginny cursed under her breath and moved to help Anon to her feet while the blonde looked on in surprise. "Come on." Brown eyes were flashing angrily and the witch was fair shaking with it as well. "You know, Perce may be an absolute prat but even he doesn't deserve to be toyed with like that." There was fire in her voice and Ginny angrily cast her eyes to the broken glass to keep from letting her temper completely take hold. "I don't think my magic can fix glass shattered that much."
"I'll ask Al to fix it." Illyana offered, surprisingly calm. Her blue eyes looked over Anon curiously. "You have to talk to somebody about it. This isn't healthy."
>>The princess certainly didn't want to, but as always, Zell brought her head up, having their line of sight click together. It always things so much more serious then they were. Pained eyes on pained eyes, confusion for confusion. But she couldn't say she didn't expect anything different. Every movement, every word, every emotion, was one hundred percent Zell. Everything was over exaggerated, but that was him...and she loved him<< I do not know. >>The softness to her voice surprised even hers, barely above a whisper. Her hands broke away, arms slipping between them to hang by her sides<< Except...do not let me decide everything...and do not let me do all the speaking. On Renascibilitas...I wished to show you what I had grown with...that there are as many good sides, as there are bad to being royalty. Not only take a walk through my memories on a masochistic whim. >>Would this help? She didn't know. But it was worth a try<<
>>She didn't move, didn't blink, didn't flinch, as the wand appeared in his hand. And all the peices were neatly piled up beside her. No, her eyes were steady on him, right until he dissapeared. Instant relief...and instant guilt. She looked helplessly up at ginny as she stuck her hand out, slowly looking like she was about to cry again at her angry accusation. She didn't touch the hand, but instead lifted herself onto wobbly feet, her body shaking again<< I'm sorry! >>her hands lifted to her face. She was insane wasn't she? All these years of ignoring it...Only...which classification was she?<< Somethings wrong...somethings very wrong... >>She thought this was fixed. Lucifer had fixed her, shown her that there was some good men left in the world. She was supposed to be better!<< I wish there was someone who could understand to tell... >>The lines on her arm were bleeding, the stinging brought her attention to her arms...robes. She was still wearing them? The female pulled the garment off, her stomach writhing now. She gently set the robes on the backing of a chair. She was badly shaken by the event, the coldeness of her words echooing in her head. That wasn't her. That wasn't Anon<< I wish there was someone, who could tell me what I did to lose everything...and gain nothing. >>She disapeared out the door. She didn't know which direction was the cottage, but at the moment, she didn't really care<<
Hugging her close Zell touched his nose to hers, his forehead to hers, and smiled warmly into her eyes. "Then show me, woman-princess." he caressed her cheek, the tips of his fingers going into her hairline. "Promise not to let it turn into a tour, 'kay?" His grin was a bit lopsided if she could look down to see it. "Guess even with knowin' it's a recreation I wasn't treating it that way. Didn't know how to be, ya know? But think I do now, so we'll check it out together." He still did not kiss her though it was pretty clear he wanted to. Instead he chuckled. "Never thought there'd be a day someone wanting me to talk more."
He was almost playful. Zell gave her a hug -warm, loving Zell hug- then relaxed his hold without actually letting go but enough that she could step away should she choose. "Soo... wanna start again?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I'll say it's wrong!" "Ginny, please..." But Ginny -already plenty mad- had taken Anon's refusal of her attempted pleasantries as a personal insult. Illyana was standing, reaching a hand out to the dark winged girl even as she wanted to say that there certainly was someone before stopping to watch as Anon took of the robes Percy had loaned her, the mutant finally making the connection and now feeling she really did not know what was up.
"Anon..." Stunned the two watched her leave. Wondering if they should go after her.
"Ruddy Hell! Hemi didn't get a chance to see her!" Blue eyes followed brown to the front door. "Should we send him after her?"

>>The corners of her lips twitched. Almost a smile. Almost<< I promise, Sir Zell. >>She lightly nuzzled his nose before giving him a butterfly one on his forehead. Then, and only then, did she step back. Now she took his hand again, and started down the hallway, gently pulling him along<< This is the section the wicked maid Harris survayed. With forty maids at her disposal, she was often quite cross, and used to... >>And so it went, down every room, every hallway. The glorious, spacious bedrooms, the dank, mideval dungeons, the beautiful pictures....then down the other hallway. A kitchen two times the size of Zells cottage, a liabrary stuffed with books, multiple studies, a bath house larger then an apartment, sculptures and even two live cats. Basket and Snow. Into the lounge, a peak into the closet, then up the stairs. More bathrooms, more bedrooms (with over 200 bedrooms alone, there were plenty), though fancier now with tall windows and flower overhangings, ivy creeping up the side of the castle at some parts. She stopped at the next door, brightly smiling now<< ...as it turns out, the ghost truly was only Snow, trapped in the room, scratching away at the walls and doornob. >>She froze upon turning to the door. This one, was different. It was made of polished wood, carved into intricatly to make a waterfall crashing into the rocks. So expertly done, often when younger she half expected to hear its rumble if she pressed her ear to it. Her fingers played with the outline<< This...is my Fathers study...
>>The instant she was out of the door, she bolted down the hallway, to the closest door. And thank the gods it was the one going outside. She powerfully launched herself into the air, the tears just beginning to start again as she entered the sky, her body trembling but not by any winter breeze. This wasn't fair. This wasn't right. She...She...The female cried, lifting herself high into the air. Higher...higher...higher...it got harder to breathe with her sobs, the oxygen thinning. Higher...higher...she stopped, and looked around. There was the shop. Which meant Solstice's cottage was somewhere to the left...Aki. Poor Aki...what was she going to do about him? She scooped down slightly to breathe better as she set her direction. But it wasn't to the left. No...it was towards the shop. She had a tree to find<<

Zell giggled. Yes, giggled. "The cat? haha! I can so imagine that!"
Hazel-blue eyes went wide and he let out a low appreciative whistle while reaching out to run a finger over the craftsmanship of the door. "Woah..." Zell traced an upward spray of 'water' with his fingertip. "Those're some doors. Remy'd flip. His kids too. Dang... makes it seem almost real doesn't it?" He bounced excitedly. And albeit a little nervously. "So... uh... he'll probably be inside then, huh?"
Now was the test, wasn't it? Whether the 'holograph' the 'memory imprint' of someone close to the princess would react in a way less automatic than the guards and staff of the palace. He moved to open the doors and then paused. "Outta respect... should we knock first? Or what?"
((Ginny's mad... therefore doesn't 'search' for Hemi to send after Anon; only glanced around the main room and checked the study. (yes, the things I come up with when I don't wanna do something...) ))

The carvings are to signify the important rooms...The dolphins on the treasury...the waterfall for the Kings Study...as with my bedroom. With birds in flight for my private study, to correspond with his chambers. The majority of the time, I found him in here, head bent in his work. >>Slowly, she lifted a hand, taking a deep breath. The female knocked. First, the normal<< Your Majesty? Who approaches? The Heir of Dreia, Princess Maryline Dorise Sang. You may enter. >>Another deep breath, and she opened the door. Sure enough, there he sat, overlooking his large desk<< M'lord... >>The study, as everything else in the palace, was spacious. A high vaulted ceiling, with dozens of lit candles to light the room. Book cases were on each wall in a miniature library, filled to the brink with literature long gone. Books of latin and greek, rarities in a show of great wealth with each hand copied. Their feet sank slightly in the lushous red carpet, the whole room feeling cozy if not for the stacks and stacks of papers on the table-like desk. But it was the King that had her attention, not all of the grandeur. She almost fell into tears. She had remembered him as he was before the illness. Plump, old, however kindly, and handsome, with considerable strength of both mind and body. The illness had robbed him of so much<< If it only us, thoust may speak easy. >>He looked up, blue eyes soft as they fell on the heartshaped face of his beautiful daughter<< Come hither...what ails the mind now, my child? >>All as she remembered so clearly, the words echooing in her mind before he spoke them. This next part however, was not in routine. She stepped into the room, reaching back to clasp one of Zells hands and pull him in with her<< This be Sir Dincht, formor Dreia Knight and ambassador to the Training Institute of Garden...The cause of a troubled dulcarnon... Sir Dincht? >>The softness faded as he slipped back into a more regal air, however, not an unkindly one. He was a just ruler, and would not judge based on 'troubled dulcarnons'. He bowed his head ever so slightly to the male. He had never heard of 'Garden' either<< Merry met Sir Dincht. Has the institute lacked thrifttibby? What say the name of the leader of Garden? >>He responded. He really responded<< Father... >>She whispered brokenly, the bright tears at last spilling over her face. She had done so well not to cry today...but here she didn't even seem to notice, her lips curved in a smile<< Bless be of Arigon...

Zell nodded, eyes wide with appreciation for the doors, and the story of the other doors and imagining what he had yet to see on top of nervousness at being about to 'meet' a king -even a memory of a king.
And this wasn't just any king -this was Maryline's pop!
The SeeD gulped, then crinkled his nose with a smile as he stood beside Maryline and looked into the massive study. For once he wasn't focused on the room, but on the man behind the desk. Not sure what -if anything- he should do Zell cleared his throat and repeated Maryline. "M'lord."
Hyne, but he almost felt silly talking to someone who couldn't be there... but if Maryline was doing it then of course he would too. Hyne, but he hoped he was supposed to say something. Outwardly he smiled a greeting with a bow of his head. Maybe he should've straight out asked Maryline for pointers. Or at least what she'd like him to do. After all... this was the telling moment, wasn't it?

>>Tears? A touch of embarrassment and shame touched his eyes at the display from his daughter. But it was only tinted to the sharp sense of worry at her. She didn't cry...ever<< Lady Maryline, what has befallen on thou? Nothing...nothing m'lord, only happiness. As of speaking... >>She subtly squeezed Zells hand in a 'back me up here' motion. Halogram or not, if she could just get his approval...if she could just get this memory to accept it...it would be as if her real father would have if still alive<< I have been fratenizing with Sir Dincht for the past six full moons...and am wholly besotted by him. Thy amoret. >>One...two...three...A mixture of shock and disbelief flicked on his face, eyes moving to firmly stay on the newcomer. It was hard to say if he was simply sizing the fistfighter up, or trying to process what was just said to him. He looked back at Maryline, blinking twice<< ...Pardon?

((okay..... I swear when I posted a response there was nothing after Maryline's 'm'lord' .... hence why Zell didn't say anything else and why I had no idea of his new title. O_o I don't know if it just didn't load all the way or what...))
He entered with her, hand half engulfing hers in comfort like a miniature embrace. Aw damn... there they were going with those words he didn't know. Dulcarnon? thriffttibby? Duuuuude.... but he was actually reacting to her words. To him. Zell nodded and gave his absolute best salute. "An honor, your majesty. Garden is run by Lord Headmaster Cid Krammer and his Lady, the former Sorceress Edea, m'lord." The very corner of his lip curled, not quite able to be kept down as he thought of how Headmaster Cid and Matron would think of being 'Lord & Lady' like that, but he had thought it acceptable with how Maryline gave the titles to those she spoke to often enough.
Nor could he hide the concern in his hazel-blue eyes as he caught sight of Maryline's tears in his periphery. When her hand squeezed his hand he 'hugged' back his silent 'I will' just before he about had the wind knocked out of him with what she then told her father. It nearly knocked all sense out of him. Would she have said the same were this really her father? If so... duude!! Warning would have been nice!! One thing to meet her pop, the king for crying out loud, another to up and tell him that.
Although... wouldn't he tell Ma the same thing -in plain speaking of course- if he had a chance to see her? Zell stood tall, well as much as his 5'6" height could. Hyne... but he was glad now he'd changed into his SeeD uniform for the dinner. Imagine coming before the king of Dreia in his shorts!! Not that he'd care normally... but this was for Maryline.
Now how the heck was he supposed to say something to help back Maryline up? He didn't know their odd words. Duuude... he just realized how this might totally come as even more of a surprise to her pops, 'cause he would have been thinking that Maryline was nice and safe here during that time. Maybe he even had a hint of her & Mujaki liking each other. To be told that something had been going on with his daughter and a stranger he had never met for 6 months without his knowledge probably was more than a little tough to bear. And to the king... it wouldn't be like Maryline was telling him the first chance she had, because he would see those 6 months where she hadn't told him.
Oh Hyne...
Zell lightly cleared his throat. He was drawing strength from his SeeD training, but courage from the fact that Maryline had confessed to her father that she loved him. He felt taller than his real height from the feeling that gave him. He could do this. He could try to talk more like her for this. "M'lord... Your majesty... It is as Princess Maryline has said." Damn but talking like this was hard. "By a trick of magic usars Princess Maryline was overlapped in Time, only now able to return to your grace. By that we met 6 months ago, the princess without protection. As a ranking SeeD of Garden I took up her protection as my duty." A mixture of how Maryline talked, and the practice training of how he was supposed to give reports as a SeeD -hopefully it was suitable. He would continue in report fashion to tell of the attempts at her life if there was a need or request. For now he let it be, not wanting to try in tighter attempts to avoid saying or describing the attackers. And sure as Hell Zell had no intention of lying to Maryline's pop! Zell was -perhaps thankfully- terrified enough that he barely moved from his stand at attention. His tail however snapped back and forth behind him in his nervousness, not as easily controlled.
"She has... Besotted me as well, m'lord." His boyish grin played to the surface of Zell's tattooed face. There was no denying his love for Maryline.

>>Oh...no. She was just going to have him think that they were communicating through letters, and simply had not told him until Zells arrival for fear of his disapprovement. As it was, they were lying to him and treading upon gray areas. Then again...Zells speech and clothing were not of the norm...and they couldn't precisely say that she really died and he was a halogram. The rising confusion on the Kings face almost had her sigh. And of course...said strange speech was put in the way of her interpretation of proper evolved commoner talk. Here it was Dreia commoner mixed with foreigner<< Worry not however, the works done by warlocks glamour, not of Magick. I wished to present Sir Dincht, as thoust would misdeme him for a gadeling 'fore I reported the treachory. >>A good deal of that was unfamiliar, though with his sharp wit, he was able to get the jest of it. In a span of a day, Maryline had been gone for 6 full moons, or 'months'...Suddenly he was quite proud. On her own with a strange male for 6 months...and she didn't look a wit worse for the wear, dispite the tear streaks. He expected no less from a child of Dreia<< Sir Dincht. >>All at once, the confusion was gone, the almost grandfatherly look was gone, even all but a hint of kindness was gone. He was looking at the fistfighter in the eye, strong, powerful, a force to make the ages quiver<< Upon the sunrise, we shall converse as to this treachory...along with my Daughter. For now...the trip was long. Your bodies weary. You have pardon to be shown the guest rooms.
