I've been super busy this past few weeks sorting out my visa so I can stay for another year in Japan. Just after I got it extended the news hit of the British teacher who has been killed.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/6501991.stm
So this Suday my mum was in a small panic saying "It could have been me!"
Yes, like I'm going to let a strange man into my apartment and then go and teach him English by visiting HIS apartment. I'm under no delusion that Japan is 'safe', it's definitley safer but there's no way I'm going to strangers houses and trying to teach them anything. (On my days off it's sightseeing and relaxing time!)
Great faith my mother has in me... rolleyes

Roy William Harper unfortunately i will not be going to Chicago or Illinois because I had to spend my money to go to Arizona to be with my girlie. I know the feeling. My fiancee lives a few states over. We're going to Comic-con International together. Very romantic. sweatdrop

Okay, so I'm apparently caught in Crisis on Infinite Friends or something.
Last week? I took one friend to the hospital after she got into a car accident. She's okay, but she couldn't drive.
Two days later I took another friend to the hospital because she sliced her finger open. Nothing serious, but this girl clocks in at about 5'1" and 94 pounds. So even small blood loss is a bit of a concern.
This week? I spent Thursday evening with guns pointed at my head. Someone tried to break into a friend's house (the one in the car accident). She called the cops, then called me as she didn't feel comfortable there alone. I got there just before the cops, and as I'm standing at the door when they get there...Yeah.
They assumed I was the attempting burglar. I had to yell for Allison to explain the situation--and she's of course looking outside her window to just see the cops with guns--waking her neighbours up at 1 in the morning. I had to make myself calm down, get put on the ground, all that, while insisting the cops knock on her door and get her to explain everything.
Earlier today? A friend of mine locked herself out of her car and house. I went over and had to help her break into her own car. Thank God no one called the cops, as another night of that and I'd have just cried.
I get home from her place, relax for about an hour...and get a call from another friend who's breaking up with his girlfriend, and is currently in the "poor drunken decisions." Thankfully, he was at least in my parking lot. He's asleep on my couch right now, as I wouldn't let him drive home.
I love my friends, but caring about them shouldn't be this much work. gonk

See, stuff like that is why I'm glad most of the people I know don't like me.
Have you wondered yet "who died and made me den mother"?

Damn...I've had misunderstands with law enforcement before, but I've never been on the business end of a standard issue firearm. Sorry to hear about that.
You want my opinion? Call in all your friendship debts. Take a week to be a complete wreck (or act like one) and make them take care of you. domokun
