((ENTER FROM BAR PG 765))

*With the help of Cora, Alex shuffled to his room*

After you, darling. I daresay, after laying down on my bed, I can use more of your healing touch. Perhaps return the sentiment.

Hhm..?

:::she used the key with her free hand:::

You're still in need of attention..? have you changed your mind about the pain killers then?

:::she swung the door open:::

*Alex let out a little laugh and stepped in*

Cora.... you're the only painkiller I need.

*Alex let out an overdramatic sigh*

I know, doc. I need to rest.

*Alex put on a sneaky grin*

Hey, I just happen to know something women can do for men that's quite relaxing. And I won't have to move around much at all.....

*Alex closed the door*

**Enter Luana from Main Room, 789**

She closed the door behind her after slipping into room 5. There were too many things in her mind at once, and she could feel a headache starting to form. She set down the hard hat and wrote on her board the words "water clock" and "launch ramp" as a way of reminding her of what else she was thinking about.

She sat in her pile of pillows, holding one against her stomache. With trembling fingers she pulled at the chain. The slashed zero on the locket seemed to stare at her.

"Angel," she whispered. "I don't remember you saying anything about the demon giving other people here powers. This doesn't change things much, but why didn't you warn me?"

As usual, there was no response. Luana sighed. After sitting for a moment in the silence of her room, she returned to the board and started drawing up plans for a water clock.

Luana scratched and scribbled on her board for nearly an hour before she took a break. She stepped back for a moment and looked over her notes so far. It was obvious that she was going to need to read up on waterclocks before she could go any farther.

She tucked a bright green dry-erase pen behind her ear and headed out to the library.

**Exit Luana to Main Room 790**

**Enter Mystina from Main Room Pg. 793**

*Mystina ran down the hallway to her room, and opened the door. She walked in and grabbed a pillow, and then walked over to her mirror, and grabbed a little baggie with some special herbs in them, then ran right back out of her room. She had a bit left over from after she had the baby, and knew some of the herbs within it would help Torment's pain, she just hoped they would work*

::Kal led Luana down the halls and towards his own room there at the Brink. He didn't use it much, prefering to think about the Brink in his actual room... outside the Brink. If that made sense:::

Here we are. :::and he put his key into the lock, ready to turn it, but he paused and looked back at Luana for a moment::

Uhm... don't let the first chamber here make you think differently of me. It's not really what you think.

Luana nodded, though she really didn't know what to expect.

::Kal opened the door finally, and it might not be imagination if Luana felt a warm, humid breeze rush by. He stepped aside and gestured for her to walk ahead:::

Inside, the room opened into something more like a grand hall. Except it was hardly ancient looking. The windows were many, and they included no glass or shelter from the weather. Wind rushed past them and swooped between tall white curved collumns draped with bannders of teal and gold. Seating pillows of the softest synthetic fibers littered the ground in a couple corners. There was a gigantic looking bed, covered in similar cloth, and lots of pillows to one side, also heavily draped with bellowing curtains, though it looked untouched. Not far from it was an in-ground jacuzi-looking bathtub.

If Luana had ever seen Kara's room, this would look quite similar:::

:::Kal was silently greatful for the absence of multiple chamber maidens, always quick with attendance to his needs the moment he moved:::

Luana suddenly understood what it was that her friends felt whenever they came to visit her home. This place was amazing to her, even after growing up in what some considered a modern day palace.

Cautiously she walked inside and took in the sight as best she could.

"Is this really like where you live?"

:::He walked over to where the bath tub was, and pulled from some of the hangings around it a long towel. The material was likely to be foreign to Luana, but as far as drying you up, it absorbed water like no tomorrow:::

Technically... yes, this is where I live. These are the Prince's quarters. But I spend nearly all my time back through there.

:::Kal pointed down on the other end of the room, some 45 feet away, at a double door::: Which, I promise, is a lot more modest than all this.

:::He put this large towel around her shoulders, and smiled down again as he began to dry them off:::

There we go...

Luana almost felt the water being pulled away from he skin. She picked up one end of the towel and ran it over a section of her hair, not even really trying hard to dry with it. Her hair no longer dripped. She looked at the corner of the towel in wonder.

"This is all so amazing," she said, again talking over her shoulder. "What's behind those doors?"

Not much, really. A place to sleep, a place to think...mostly its where I go to be away from everything else.

::He takes his eyes away from her for a moment to look around the chamber::

I'm not really into this sort of living... y'know? :::He smirks::: You should see it as it actually is. This isn't so much MY room as it is a room where everyone else can try to catch a glimpse of what I'm doing. Maybe that works for Kara, but personally it doesn't fit my tastes.
PostPosted: Tue Nov 29, 2005 10:55 pm

"I guess you don't get a lot of privacy in a place like this," she said as she went back to drying her hair. "I'd probably lose my mind if I was always being watched like a zoo animal."
