Baritone and Euphonium are the same thing and no one can tell me otherwise
stare NoahI am sorry, but did you say that the Baritone and the Euphonium are the same?
Well, they are not. They are, however, very similar, there are some distinct qualities about them that make them different from one another.
The baritone is smaller than a Euphonium, that is the most basic and simple answer out there. They are smaller in bell size and bore size.
The baritone is also known as a tenor horn. I know that many composers for band music write "baritone" on there parts, but 95% of the time they mean Euphonium. Most elementary to high school level players only have a Euphonium and only a few style and pieces call for an actual baritone.
But to say that Baritones and Euphoniums are the same, well, that is just wrong. In fact if you love the Euphonium so much, then you should be correcting everyone that calls it a baritone.
I just wanted to clear this up. I do play Euphonium every once in a while, but I am mostly a Bass Trombonist that knows way too much for my own good.
p.s. please don't take offense to this, for it was purely educational.
