"Fire Elves are like Fire Dragons," Uruloki explained. "Because of their abilities, they produce their own heat. They can feel the cold, but they don't become cold, and it doesn't affect them."

"I see," Lancaeriel said thoughtfully, though her eyes were on Miyuki. She could see that the young kitsune wasn't quite paying attention though. "What are you thinking?" she asked quietly. "Something beyond her caution ..."

The caution was something that didn't surprise her in the least. She had more or less expected it, actually.

Lancaeriel pondered the idea. It sounded good to her - the idea of spreading cultures, sharing stories and perhaps more ... but there was one major problem that she could see with that.

"Would that not require knowing the language immediately?" she asked hesitantly. "I mean ... you would have to know the language in order to tell people about the things you have, or to tell stories ... even here, there are few with whom we can communicate."

"You would always have Iorlas, Andarien, Kyrie and myself," Uruloki pointed out. "And of course, there's always the possibility of learning the languages the same way Andarien did."

Lancaeriel turned her full attention to Miyuki, her own thoughts whirling. "I wonder ..." she mused softly.

Uruloki looked from Miyuki to Lancaeriel. "Okay, I have a lot of talents, I admit," he said, "but even I can't read minds. What are you two talking about?"

Lancaeriel smiled. "A partnership. If you're interested, of course," she added, looking back at Miyuki. "You can do illusions, you're quite good at them, I think. Iorlas and Andarien both are infinilingual, though perhaps Iorlas is more a people person than Andarien. And you know I enjoy playing music."

Lancaeriel grinned. "Exactly. I'm not certain Andarien has the emotion to be a story teller, but Iorlas, I think, would do a good job. And the music was your idea. I can't imagine it would be easy to play and cast illusions at the same time. If the lyre isn't the type of instrument you would like as accompaniment, I can use something else."

She wanted to help them to earn their way through their travels as well. She knew that they were happy to have her with them, but she wanted to do something helpful anyways.

"We would have to think of a place to do this," Lancaeriel pointed out. "It's not like we can just sit anywhere and perform. The inn would have room in the dining room, and it might attract more business for them as well - but we would have to ask."

"You could try the amphitheater," Uruloki suggested. "It would be big enough for a small crowd, good sound, a stage big enough for life-size illusions - or bigger, if you wish."

"Now that I don't know." Uruloki looked out the roof window as he thought about the question. "I don't even know if Kyrie would know. Ahkshi might, he enjoys the occasional performance ... though even if he doesn't know, he might know who to ask."

"So no asking until tomorrow." Lancaeriel grinned. "Being as Kyrie is a bear today."

"Being as Kyrie is a bear today, yes," Uruloki chuckled. "Tomorrow."

By this point, Amir was lying on the table while the tailor was measuring him for clothes. She and Iorlas were deep in conversation, and though Daeron was standing nearby, but he looked a bit lost. Of course, he didn't understand the language either, so that might explain it.

Kaito looked like he was falling asleep, but Wren was showing Lin some of the more durable fabrics, wondering aloud about getting some new traveling clothes.

"Looks like good progress," Lancaeriel commented with a smile.

"I might wait a bit and see what the styles around here are," Wren mused. "I mean, who says I have to always dress the way people back home do? If I like the style, maybe I'll get that. Otherwise I could always ask about other styles. Comfortable but practical. Unfortunately, it will have to be something cheap, since of course we haven't any currency here."

She smiled ruefully. "Still, it's something I could look forward to."
