Kedrick smiled, acknowledging her comment about the soup with a nod. "Well," He said with a smile, "I don't know about you, but by the way he was jabbering about her to me on the phone last night I wouldn't be surprised if it happened today." He took another spoonful of his soup, holding his free hand under the dripping spoon to catch the drops so the wouldn't get on the table top.
After Kedrick had finished his soup, he picked up his bowl and set it in the sink, turning on the cold tap water and let it run over the bowl. He smiled slightly, feeling the water course over his fingers, cooling them from holding the warm bowl. Kedrick turned off the water and looked out the window of the kitchen into the large yard behind the estate. It was already set up with long tables with plastic tablecloths that flapped soundlessly in the slight breeze. The fold out chairs would need to be put out later and cover needed to be taken off of the grill but other than that the yard looked wonderful, and absolutely ready for the barbeque.

Arielle Shore
"That would be cute," Arielle said with a light nod, "But wouldn't he be nervous asking her that around so many people? I mean, my grandparents are coming, as well as your sisters, most of the men from Maria's father's squad, and Maria's father. Wouldn't that be a bit intimidating?" She didn't know about Dimitri's fear of meeting parents of someone he knew, and she also had a feeling that there would hardly be a lack of privacy for the two of them if he did try and ask her out. But maybe he will do it today, Arielle thought with a smile, remembering the time when Dimitri had feelings for her. Had she not known about his past, she would have thought it was weird for him to go after her best friend after not being able to get her, but she definitely knew that Maria was the perfect girl for him.
She finished her bowl of soup and got up, picking up many of the things from the table, that she could carry, and walked over to the sink next to Kedrick. She gently placed her things in the sink and leaned her head against him, not saying anything but enjoying the moment with him. After, she looked up at him with a smile. "I can sense your excitement," she said with a light giggle.

Kedrick hummed softly, smiling as Arielle rested her head on his shoulder. He enjoyed having her close. Kedrick had been especially careful of her ever since she had been hurt, he wanted to keep her near him and, over all, safe. Kedrick looked down at her, the soft smile still lingering on his lips. "Can you?" He asked with a smile, cocking an eyebrow. "I can't really help it, we've only been waiting for this for two weeks!" He said, laughing softly, wrapping his arm around her shoulders in a one-armed hug.
Kedrick's eyes drifted to the clock above the stove. 'Huh...' He though with a slight frown. 'I must have woken up later than I thought...it's 10:30 already....' He startled slightly, his next thought escaping his lips. "10:30!" He said, his eyes widening. He laughed, looking back at Arielle "It's 10:30! People arrive at eleven, and we don't even have the chairs set up!" He said, and though it was a problem he was still smiling as though the excitement made him happy.

"So has everyone," Arielle said with a bright smile, looking back up at him. She hugged him again and sighed happily, once again loving the moments that she could spend alone with Kedrick.
Arielle looked up when Kedrick exclaimed the time in surprise. She felt confused until he looked back at her and explained. Her eyes widened and she giggled, poking his stomach. "Silly Kedrick," she said with a sweet smile, "We're still good. Plus, we can always get people to help us with the chairs."

Kedrick smiled sheepishly and then laughed. "Y-You're right." He said, rubbing the back of his neck with his free hand. Kedrick smiled softly kissing her cheek. "Are you always this smart?" He asked teasingly, before pulling a damp rag out of the dink and stepping over to wipe off the table.
As he finished cleaning up, Kedrick thought to himself. 'Maybe I ought to give Dimitri a call...' He thought, and then voiced it to Arielle. "I think I'm going to give Dimitri a buzz, He tends to have a bad habit of either showing up to early or to late for things." He said, thinking of the many different occasions that Dimitri had done just that. He had been late for the dance, and early for the dinner with he and Arielle, so he didn't put it past his friend to be off schedule for the picnic too.

Arielle Shore
"I was just stating a common truth," Arielle said with a giggle, "It only makes sense that a lot of people would be excited for today. I mean, it is a celebration after all. Only someone who wasn't in their right mind would not be excited about today. Although, when they have some of the good, they'll probably change their mind about their excitement." Again she smiled and again she laughed, her face as bright as her good mood. There was no denying the fact just how happy today was making her.
Arielle nodded when Kedrick mentioned calling Dimitri. She wondered how early or late he would've shown up if Kedrick had not thought about calling him. She looked down at herself and realized that she couldn't be in her pjs all day with people coming so soon. She remembered having an idea on what to wear, after conversing with Maria. "While you do that," Arielle started, "I'll go get dressed and ready for today." She was very glad that she had taken a shower last night, or she would have taken even longer getting ready.

He said, walking out into the foyer of the house and pacing the floor. He punched in Dimitri's number and held the phone to his ear.Dimitri Hunter was laying back on hid bed, ear-buds jammed his his ears, music full blast. He hummed the tune to himself although it was so loud he couldn't hear himself over it. The dark haired boy murmured the words under his breath, his eyes closed, Maria's image dancing in his mind. "And my tongue gets tied so quick, I get so nervous I'm feeling sick. I turn into the world's worst Romeo, every time I try to say ‘hello’..." He trailed off, feeling a weird vibrating in his pocket. He jumped slightly, yanking the ear-buds out of his ears and seized the phone, looking at the number. "Yeah." He said, flipping the phone open. Kedrick frowned slightly as Dimitri's voice came over the phone, he was speaking rather loudly, he must have had his music turned up. "Hey Dem, I was just calling to check weather or not you were ready for the picnic, I don't need you showing up late." He joked good naturally. "Late? Me?" Dimitri asked with a smirk, having readjusted his volume. "Not a chance, I'm just getting my shoes on now." He lied, looking down at the over sized white T-shirt and boxers he was wearing at the moment. He flexed his bear toes, noting that he'd have to dress in something presentable. Kedrick smiled, leaning against the wall. "Okay, okay, just don't forget, everything starts at eleven." He said, looking out the window. Dimitri grinned, springing off of his bed and dashing to his dresser, fumbling around for a clean set of clothing that wasn't terribly wrinkled. "Yep, I'll be there, count on it." Kedrick shifted the phone to his other ear. "Okay, I will, bye." He said, hanging up. Just as he did a van pulled into the estate's driveway. Kedrick's heart skipped a beat with excitement. 'I wonder who that could be...'

Arielle Shore
Arielle nodded with a smile and headed up to her room, closing the door. She headed towards her dresser and looked around, trying to remember the details of her outfit. Maria thought it would be an interesting idea if the two of them wore scarves with their outfits. It took her some time to convince her best friend not to do that for the barbeque. They hadn't try to wear somewhat matching accessories in their clothes since middle school. Arielle did promise Maria that they would do the whole "wannabe twins" dress the next time they go to school, or if they ever decided to have just a girls day out together.
As soon as she pulled out everything, she put on her clothes which consisted of a white t-shirt with a dove on it, a brownish gray sweater with no buttons, blue jeans, a simple necklace, a silver bracelet with a swirl in the center, and brownish bronze flats. She had originally wanted to do something fancy with her hair, but she didn't want to over do it. Instead, she pulled her hair up into a ponytail and curled the ends before heading downstairs.

Kedrick peered though the curtains, his eyes riveted on the largish van. He ducked quickly over to the door, pushing it open and standing in the doorway. It was after the doors to the van opened but before anyone actually came out that he guess who it was. Kedrick heard the sound of female voices of many different pitches and tones arguing back and forth as his sisters began to pour from the van like clowns from a toy car. Kedrick's face split into a grin as he saw Sakimi, Keira, Gwen, Kyla, Raine, Terra, and finally, Athena's thin, almost ghostly form slid from the car. "Hey! There you all are!" Kedrick cried, waving from the porch.
Kyla waved, bouncing on her toes. "Hey Kedrick!" She cried back, and then grabbed Raine and Terra's wrist, pulling the two youngest girls with her as she started in a head-long sprint towards her older brother.
Kedrick laughed, snatching up all three slightly build girls in a bear hugs. "Arielle!" He called over his shoulder, craning his head back to look into the house. "The family's here! Come see!" He looked up over the girls' heads, seeing Athena and he smiled.
His closest sister in age padded softly across the yard. She looked pale yet somehow beautiful. She was wearing her almost white hair in a loose ponytail, a pale blue dress made of a light airy material hung loosely off of her thin frame, but her face was glowing.
Kedrick stood up, ruffling the girls hair on his way up, and walked over embracing his sister. "Hey Athena, how do you feel?" He asked.
The girl smiled at him, her eyes sparkling. "I feel fine, my knees are a little week but other than that I'm fine." She said with a smile.
"I think you need to eat some more." He teased lightly, poking her stomach gently.
"Yeah, I know, the doctor says I have to be careful of what I eat though, I can't eat to much or I'll rupture my stomach." She smiled as though it was some kind of private joke. "So, where's Arielle?"

Arielle Shore
As Arielle was walking down the steps, she heard her name being called by Kedrick. Interested to see who had come, since they both had family, she quickened her pace just a bit. As she got closer to the bottom, she could vaguely hear the voices of Kedrick's sisters. Smiling, she walked closer to the front door, waiting for Kedrick to finish his reunion with them before saying anything.
It hadn't been too long since she had spoken with them, mainly the older girls to explain the whole situation. There was no denial how worried she was about telling them, but she knew she had to explain, especially for Athena's sake since she left her hospital room so quickly.
When she heard Athena asking where she was, she was definitely surprised to see her, but glad she was able to escape the hospital. Walking out closer, she raised her hand up and smile. "You called, Athena?" Arielle asked with a bright smile, happy to see her again.

Athena's head snapped up and she looked at Arielle. Her face bloomed into a smile, and she moved past Kedrick. "Arielle!" She said, hurrying over to the girl and hugging her tightly. She pulled back. "There you are, how do you feel are you excited?" She asked brightly.
Kedrick laughed softly at his sister, restraining Kyla so she wouldn't bowl Arielle over while she was talking to Athena. He looked up, a smile still touching his lips as Sakimi walked over.
Sakimi had her long dyed black hair pulled in in a french twist, and was wearing a slightly punkish looking outfit. It was composed of a gray, tight fitting T-shirt with a V-neck and black trim, a short jean shirt with a frayed edge and a black stretchy underneath. She was also wearing black boots with a tall heel that must have been three inches in height. "So," She said with a slight smirk. "How's that girl of your holding up?" She asked
Kedrick smiled at his oldest sister. "Arielle's doing fine." He said, looking up at her. "I've been taking good care of her." He joked gently.
Sakimi snorted slightly, canting her head to the side. "Good, see you keep it it." She said.

Arielle Shore
Arielle smiled even brighter than before and hugged her back when she rushed over to her. Out of all of Kedrick's siblings, she was definitely happy to see Athena the most. "I definitely do feel excited," Arielle responded with a light laugh, "And a lot better than I did two weeks ago. But Athena, what about you? How have you been? Oh, and before I forget, you look amazing today. I'm really so glad that you could make it."
Arielle peeked over and waved cheerfully to Kedrick's other sisters, her excitement growing.

♟♞ ♝ ♜ ♛ Ҝәɖʁϊϲҝ Ś. Śűѿą & Ďȋɱȋŧʁȋ Ĵ. ᾟűηŧȇʁ ♛ ♜ ♝ ♞ ♟ Athena smiled shyly, looking down at her sundress. "Thanks Arielle, I figured on my first 'official' day out I ought to look nice." She said, a faint blush touching her cheeks. "They let me leave the hospital about a week after you and Kedrick came to visit me," The girl said, looking back up at her. "He says I still have to be extra carful not to get a cold or anything, so I'm not alowed outside at night, apparently the air's bad of my lungs, and I have to be carful of what I eat." Athena shrugged. "After another week or so I'll be back to normal."
"And clumsy and careless as ever." Sakimi said, walking over and smirking as she stepped up next to her frail younger sister. "I swear Athena, it's your own fault your so sick all the time, you're the one who insists on climbing trees and having snowball fights whenever you're not ill." She teased good naturedly, bumper her shoulder and Athena smile.
Kedrick walked over to the group of girls, Raine and Kyla clinging to his legs and Terra following close behind. He smiled sheepishly, looking at Arielle in a helpless kind of way before his attention was captured by something else. A small beat up car that Kedrick knew well was pulling into the driveway. "Look's like Dimitri's here!" He said with a smile as the car pulled into the driveway.Dimitri opened the door, leaning out and waving to the group of girls and his friend. "Hey!" He called, stepping out and closing the door, walking over to them. "Morning Kedrick, ladies." He said with a deep mock-bow.Athena looked at him out of the corner of her eyes and turned her back to him. If Arielle remembered correctly, Athena thought Dimitri a good for nothing flirt, apparently her opinion hadn't changed.Dimitri blinked at the cold reception. "Oh come on Athena, you're not being fair." He chided, stepping around so he was in front of her. "So you had a bad first impression of me, so what?" He asked, casting a nervous glance in Sakimi's direction.

Arielle Shore
"Well that's the perfect outfit you could've picked for today, especially for an occasion as special as this," Arielle said in such a cheerful way. Arielle listened to what else Athena had to say about how careful she had to be until she was completely normal. She found herself giggling lightly when Sakimi had her say. "Don't worry, Athena," Arielle said sweetly, "I'll make sure you won't end up back there. We can always start our cooking lessons and our days out together whenever you're ready, because I still owe you those, and I never break my promises."
She smiled as Kedrick walked over to them, his legs being occupied with Raine and Kyla clinging onto them. She giggled at the sight and would've joked around with him when Kedrick mentioned that Dimitri had arrived. She smiled and waved at Dimitri before noticing Athena's reaction. The memory of Athena's opinion of Dimitri returned into her mind. She watched as he spoke, remembering how she had once first thought that until she learned his past, but noticed even more so about his change ever since he started spending time with Maria.
"Don't worry," Arielle said, trying to keep a light mood, "Dimitri's getting a lot better with that sort of thing. He's head over heels in love, and my grandpa always told me that love can always change someone. He said it happened to him when he met my grandmother because he used to be a troublemaker back in the day, but when he met my grandma, he knew that all of that had to end so he could be a better man for her. And the same thing is happening to Dimitri now, slowly but surely."

♟♞ ♝ ♜ ♛ Ҝәɖʁϊϲҝ Ś. Śűѿą & Ďȋɱȋŧʁȋ Ĵ. ᾟűηŧȇʁ ♛ ♜ ♝ ♞ ♟ Athena looked over at Arielle, listening to what she had to say before turning her back on Dimitri again. "So you're in love are you?" She asked coolly. "Who's the unfortunate victim this time?" There was an unmistakeable bite in her voice, apparently she hadn't forgiven him for hitting on her sister.Dimitri blushed slightly, looking down at his worn sneakers and scratching the back of his neck. "Well...yeah...I'm uh...I'm in love...I just haven't told her yet..." He said, his voice dropping to barely audible at the end. He looked up at Kedrick sheepishly, and then his eyes shifted back to Athena. "Her name's Maria, she's coming today, you ought to meet her..." Athena blinked and looked at Arielle. "Maria? Isn't that you're friend?" She asked, remembering their conversation in the hospital weeks ago. She wheeled sharply on Dimitri, color creeping into her pale cheeks. "Arielle's friend?" She asked, seeming to have answered her own question. "You're trying your creepy stalker thing with Arielle's friend?!"Dimitri's cheeks went pink. "S-Stalker!" He spluttered, looking mortified. "I'm not a stalker! I love her for pete's sake! I'm not stalking her!" He noted Athena's slightly lofty look, telling him that she didn't believe a word of it. "F-fine, just wait till you meet her, Kedrick, do you need help with anything? Your sister is harassing me." Kedrick smiled. "Come into the back yard with me, you can help me set up chairs." He said, clapping a hand on Dimitri's shoulder and looking down at the two little girls still clinging to his legs. "Okay you guys, up, Dimitri and I need to go set some things up." With a sigh, the girls reluctantly let go. "Come on." He said with a smile to Dimitri and his lead him around the back.
