Koko remained unaware of the change in the Aiolos' flight, so engrossed was she with working on the bike. When she was just making progress on hacking the bike's computer systems, she had another of those strange images pass before her eyes. The mercenary slid out from under the motorbike & sat up on the hoverboard, putting her face in her hands for a moment. This doesn't make any sense... I don't remember ever doing things like that... She lifted her head & turned round slightly, looking at the bike again before sighing. Lying down she slid back underneath & started work again. She managed to get through the first line of defense on the systems, but she figured she had a way to go yet...

Jackal became marginally aware of the Aiolos landing next to him, however, so engrossed he was in one of his seldom moments of respite, that he found himself unwilling to move, however eventually he reluctantly rose to his feet and began stumbling towards the airlock, one hand still clutching the wound at his side. Upon reaching the airlock, the raider climbed the stairs sluggishly, gritting his teeth with the amount of effort he was putting into this one simple task, his legs felt like lead weights, and it no doubt showed on his face.
Reaching the top of the stairs and stepping into the airlock, Jackal focused all of his extra energy resisting the urge to slump against a wall and sleep. Despite the pilots seemingly good intentions, he was still on enemy territory, and he refused to let his guard down...

Once Jackal had entered the airlock, the outer door slid shut and clunked into place as the air-pressure and temperature within the airlock changed to match the internal conditions of the ship. Zed walked down to the airlock and waited for it to finish it's decontamination cycle. He spoke over a small intercom system into the airlock. "I'll get Koko to take a look at that wound of yours in a minute while I take us back to Ares"

Jackal took a few more steps into the airlock slowly, almost reluctantly. He heard a slight whirring sound and span on the spot to find the source of it, his fists raised, the pain of his sudden movement visibly etched into his features. He couldnt see anything that looked too suspicious, but in his profession it was dangerous to let one's guard down, so he stood, posed ready for a fight.
A few moments later, the raider exhaled hard and dropped his aching arms as he heard the pilots voice. "That won't be nescessary," he winced slightly, his body taking umbridge to his pride, "Tell her to grab the medical kit from my bike and give it to me... I can take care of myself..."

After a little while Koko slid out from under the bike again, her hands & a bit of her face covered in a bit of oil. She exhaled slowly & rubbed the back of her hand over her forehead. She stood up & went round to the front of the bike, testing a few of the functions to see whether they'd been unlocked yet. Good news - the ignition worked, the clutch seemed to function & she could now release the brakes. Bad news - the accelerator was completely locked down, the front wheel wouldn't turn properly, the computer systems only had basic functions enabled & it looked as though the fuel system was being choked. If she couldn't even get fuel into the thing, it wasn't exactly going to run. "Damn... to give the guy some credit, he sure did a good job with the lockdown on this thing..."
She stretched & looked around for a while, wondering how long she had been in the cargo bay. She was glad that her flashbacking seemed to have ceased for now. The mercenary wandered out of the cargo bay, hoping to find Zed somewhere. Maybe he was taking them back to Ares?

The pilot leant against the doorframe of the airlock, looking closely at the access panel beside it. "Alright" He said to the raider through the intercom before switching the channel to the cargobay's loudspeaker. "Hey Koko, could ya do me a massive favour and bring that bike's medical kit up to Jackal who is in the airlock while I fly us home? Oh, and make sure to have a good look through it first... just in case..." Zed then turned and headed up to the cockpit where he continued preparing the ship for heading back to Ares.

Mid-step, Koko froze, looking up to where she'd heard the intercom behind her in the cargo bay. Had she heard in right? Did he say that Jackal was on the ship? The mercenary curled her hands into fists & her eyes narrowed into a dangerous glare, but she did as bid & went back to the cargo bay to retrieve the medi-kit.
After rummaging around the bike for a bit, she located the medical supplies. Just before she left she opened it; nothing seemed to be amiss... it was simply medical equipment. The girl clipped the box back up, turned & strode out of the cargo bay, heading for the airlock. It didn't take her long, without realising it the mercenary had been travelling faster than a normal human's pace. Without really thinking about it, Koko wrenched open the door to the airlock & tossed the medi-kit inside. She stood in the doorway for a moment, one hand on her hip. "Anyone else, I'd patch 'em up myself, but I think savin' you from drownin' was enough." With that she closed the door again, though she remained outside. If the raider was planning anything, she'd make sure he wouldn't be able to do it. She reflected what she'd just said while leaning against the door - maybe it hadn't been the best thing to blurt out?

Jackal didn't move the whole time Koko shouted at him, he simply stood parallel to her, his tired eyes fixed on hers, he looked infuriatingly impassive. As the airlock door closed and locked he exhaled smoothly, though the sound was not free of aggresive irritation, "Koko... Always a pleasure." He growled sarcastically. Picking up the medical kit he rummaged through it, throwing away bandages and mundane looking medical equipment until he found a slim cigarette case, which he opened quickly to reveal a neat line of hand rolled 'cigarettes.' He picked one of the roll-ups up and placed it between his lips, he then rummaged around for his gold bell lighter and struck it, the action complimented by a pleasant ringing noise. The raider inhaled ravenously, backing into the airlock wall and sliding down it, exhaling the herbal-smelling smoke slowly, as if he was deflating...

Zed sat back in his chair and configured the navigation systems to head back into Ares' orbit. The computer plotted a route that used the planet that they were on, a nearby gas giant and the star at the center of the system to slingshot the ship up to a 'safe' cruising speed fairly quickly, it wasn't any quicker than using the ship's infinate accelleration drive, but it made for a more exciting, yet somewhat smoother, journey. The pilot flicked a few switches, powering up the ship's planetary drive which quickly accellerated the ship past the speed of sound as it forced it's way through and out of the planet's thick atmosphere.

After a while of leaning against the airlock door, Koko slid down so that she was sitting on the floor. She was having another, albeit more mild, set of flashbacks. She deperately needed something to distract herself with so - god she couldn't believe she was doing this - she actually began to talk to Jackal. Since she was right up against the door, her voice carried through into the airlock when she raised it. "Heh... I guess I gotta give ya some credit raider, ya sure secured that bike up tight. Even I'm havin' trouble with it..." She wasn't even sure if the raider would answer her, she just needed something, anything, to distract her from the disjointed memories that kept coming back to haunt her.

Jackal toked on the joint succulently, savouring the sensation it was bringing him, his body felt more relaxed already and he layed back against the wall, beginning to feel more comfortable already. He heard the mercenary speak, and ackqnowledged her compliment with a nod to himself, however he wasn't about to let his guard down to someone who'd tried to kill him, and more importantly he wasnt about to let his guard down to someone he'd just tried to kill. "So I take it hacking the bike didnt go as planned then?" He asked sounding bored...

The Aiolos built up speed as it orbited the planet before it headed towards a huge jupiter-like gas giant. Zed steered the ship slightly to one side of the vast planet and increased the power to the engines. The ship passed the gas giant closely, using it's steep gravity well to effectivley slingshot the ship to higher speeds and towards the bright white star at the center of the star system. Zed put on a pair of sunglasses as they neared the star, now moving a few thousand meters per second above the speed of light. The pilot repeated the same manouver he used when passing the gas giant, except this time he stayed a little further from the massive ball of burning hydrogen as going too close might burn his wings. The Aiolos slingshotted around the star and towards the Ares star system at well over the speed of light. Zed removed his sunglasses and watched as they flew through the endless vaccum of space at speeds that where once thought to be impossible.

Koko leant her head back against the door, a small laugh escaping her. Talking offered some relief to the flashbacks, so she tried to keep the conversation going. "I guess not; I got the ignition to work, released the brake & I may have gotten the clutch to work.... but... the accelarator won't respond at all, no fuel is bein' released to the engine & the front wheel is locked down, can't turn it at all." She sighed, shifting herself slightly, "Plus... all those fancy computer systems ya got installed on there? Haven't cracked 'em yet... for the most part."
For a while the mercenary was quiet, pondering for a moment. "I reckon I'm gunna give her body a fresh coat o' paint & knock out some o' the dents; those bullets sure did a number on her." This time, the girl wasn't trying to aggravate the raider, she was simply explaining her ideas.

Jackal leant his head on the wall, slowly taking another large drag on his joint. After letting a few moments of silence pass, he exhaled with a rattling breath, blowing a few smoke rings idly. Too tired to express his outrage at listening to the girl talking about his bike so casually, the raider replaced what was potentially a string of curses with another sharp inhalation on the reefer. After a few moments he exhaled slowly before addressing the girl quietly. "I thought that might be the case... its not so easy looking is it? It's all well and good talking about rigging my bike, but when it comes down to it, you just don't have the teeth for it. Don't feel too bad about yourself, you're not the first who's tried to f**k with my ride... hopefully you'll be the last though..." Jackal stopped for a second to inhale another lungful of smoke, before expelling it from his lungs with an almighty sigh. "If I were you, I'd just leave it, its more tech than you can handle anyway. Don't bother buffing the dents out, I can take care of it. And definately don't paint it... Just leave my bike alone..."

Thane wandered over to where he had been indicating and started checking the pods. "Syuzanna...uhm...can you check those just over there?" He pointed to some not too far away. Thane then turned his attention back to the pod in front of him and wiped away the dust from the glass. He sighed and moved onto the next one.
