Jai-Li looked towards the two that were talking, having been catching pieces of the conversation near by. "Why would they be talking about using a blue lantern to make things safe? Is it dark where they're going?" She looked over at Firestar in a mild confusion.

Firestar scratched her red hair for a moment, "Actually.... It kinda went waaaaay over my head just a little after this meet started. But I think they are worried about approaching... someTHING."

"Are they unable to see what is coming to meet them? Because I was always told that lanterns are using to make it easier for people to see in the dark." Her understanding of lanterns seeming a bit archaic in comparison to the lantern corp that everyone else was speaking of.

Smitty and Bozo followed the woman into the lounge, both reasonably a little nervous. After all, this woman went from trying to KILL them into helping them out?!? This smelled all kinds of fishy, but they went along with it. The overgrown hog-stickers being certifiable proof that crossing her was a BAD IDEA.
"D-d-duh Smitty? I'm sc-sc-scared!" Bozo whispered as the weasely one looked back up at his big, dumb partner.
"I'm startin' to think maybe I shoulda bribed that Valentine kid to go on this instead . . ." Smitty replied in a hushed voice.

"Oh hush. You two have nothing to worry about unless I get bored." Typhoid purred as she continued into the Lounge. The man at the door tried to stop her, but she merely leaned up and whispered something into his ear. The man's eyes grew wide for a moment, then cleared his throat as he backed away.
"Take the side entrance." he muttered, looking away from her.
Typhoid grinned and looked back. Motioning for the two to follow her through one of the employee entrances. The VIP waiting rooms should be just down the hall. Then all they had to do was wait.

"Yeah, VERY convincing." Smitty said sarcastically as they followed her. Bozo on the other hand, was giggling again.
"I thought da boss told you to NOT pet that rat, Bozo." Smitty said to Bozo.
"Sorry, boss! He's fluffy, and I want to hold him an' pet him and call 'im George." Bozo said as Smitty rolled his eyes.

Typhoid rolled her eyes as she continued down the hall. Eventually they came upon a small room with a large table and several cushioned seats. Typhoid made her way up and sat down in the first available seat to wait.

Doom tapped his armored chin in thought, coming up with a plan, "Actually.... I think Doreen should go with Miss Martian and the Blue Lantern to find Man-Thing. Squirrel Girl should be able to find him, and I have seen the way you...," Doom motions a hand toward Miss Martian, "....are able to calm creatures of great power and you do have a gift for diplomacy. I would not send Firestar, only because she is a pure representation of fire. And I .... would not be good for convincing Man-Thing either on account of my past. Anyway, do you two feel up for the task at hand?"
Dr. Doom left the open question fall on both Squirrel Girl and Miss Martian.

M'gann Morzz Miss Martian M'gann blinked, having been in one of her many bubbles of thought. For a moment her eyes were a haze of dark red until they focused on Doom, their fiery intensity blooming again. She pursed her lips and inclined her head. It wasn't as if she could say no. There was business to be done, and with all of the events occurring, the sooner was indeed better.
Still, the Martian took a moment to consider. After all, she hardly knew Squirrel Girl and was never one to leap into teams at the spur of the moment. Not anymore. After a deliberation with herself, she nodded slowly. "Very well." It was agreeable, at least for the moment. ----
Eira Svet'hyn Indigo Lantern Meanwhile Eira held her staff close and listened on with distant focus. There was something else calling her attention, a nearing Indigo Tribesman. In this case, she was guessing it to be Indigo-1. Few others ever associated with her, what with the whole 'emotion' aspect being on a different level. Aside from that, Indigo was likely about to get involved. Ganthet was already here, much to Eira's shock. With the discussion of Man-Thing and other events tallying up to a far to eventful evening...especially that giant lizard, the Indigo Lieutenant was more than prepared to acknowledge the fact that events had begun to reach levels of severity that she had experienced very little of. That heralded the questioning of Indigo-1. The head of the Tribe hated to be out of the loop. Sadly, Eira was in said loop. Indigo would be expecting her to remain there. And that meant doing something to stay with them. How to go about that one?

It took several minutes, but a figure finally made it's way down the hall and into the back VIP room where Typhoid and the two men were waiting. A short, stocky man in a finely tailored suit. From the description Typhoid had been given from Kingpin...this certainly looked like the guy who owned the Lounge. And he did look rather similar to the long-nosed, squawky man from the comic book.
Penguin approached the table, his expression polite, but his eyes revealing that he may be getting just a little warn out. ”Can I help you?” he asked, leery of anyone strange who walked in wearing a costume or anything of the like.
”You certainly can, babe.” Typhoid replied with a grin. ”We came here for a little bit of information on a few people. Maybe exchange a little bit of gossip. I'm sure you've heard of my employer...the Kingpin? From New York City? I'm pretty sure he's called once or twice.”
Penguin stared at her for a moment, then sighed and moved to take a seat at the table with them. Normally he would be suspicious of anyone who just claimed that they were working for a crime lord like Kingpin. But...he had seen evidence of this woman working for the man. So...it was safe to say any information given or taken was...well safe to do so. ”What sort of information are you looking for?” he asked.

Doom nodded thoughtfully at the assembled heroines, "Very good. I fully trust in Doreen's ability to find the Man-Thing, and I shall leave it to you. Just be honest with the creature. In this crisis, I believe he will aid us. And Firestar, do keep the good Captain and his associate above us in the loop. When the time comes, we will need all the help we can get against Nekron and his host of black lanterns."
As Doom's eyes glanced to the blind girl beside the fiery heroine, Angelica tilted her head slightly in confusion, "Associate? Ummm.... okay." Reactively, Firestar's green eyes glanced upward in a vain attempt to see whom Doom was referring to.

Jai-Li sighed. "Well, do you think you might be able to help me really quick? I just want to know if you see my violin case in the room with us. If you can't, I understand."

And this time, Bozo spoke up. "Duh, is Bruce Wayne really Batman? And if he is, where is he? If so, where is he?" he asked, as if he was asking for a glass, of water, which in turn got him a dirty look from Smitty.
"'Scuse us." Smitty said and grabbed Bozo by the ear, dragging him off to the side.
"Whassamattah with you?!" he hissed, slapping Bozo upside the head. "We can't trust a source that ain't corrugated yet . . . Bruce Wayne might not even EXIST you DUMB bastid! Now bend over!" Smitty hissed. Bozo obliged, allowing Smitty to rear back and kick Bozo in the butt before walking back over.
"Sorry 'bout that."

Oswald's eyes widened at the man's abrupt question. He continued to stare even after the two left. Typhoid grinned and chuckled to herself as she watched the two go to the corner and have a fight, then turned her attention back to Oswald. ”So...yeah. You know of anyone by the name of Bruce Wayne?” she asked.
Oswald stuttered. ”W...well y...yes. He's a rather well known man around Gotham.” he said, then blinked again. Mr Wayne WAS rather financed enough to be the Bat. But.... Tell me though...what would cause you to believe that he is Batman?” Oswald asked carefully. His surprise wearing off and turning into intense interest.
”Well, that one's a little harder to explain.” Typhoid replied. ”But with all of the different realities on this little world, we came across a bit of information that gives us reason to believe that he's the bat.”
”Uh-huh...and would you still happen to have such information?” Penguin asked.
Typhoid grinned and wiggled a finger at him. ”Perhaps...but just in case the information is solid...it wouldn't be good business to just show you for free. Now would it?”
”No...I suppose not.” Oswald replied quietly.

Smitty raised an eyebrow. "So you're gonna believe da idiot? Look, I've been partnered wit' dis guy fer years! For all we know, Bruce and Bats may just be a coincidence!" he said, trying to find some reason.
"But yes, we do need a li'l bargainin' here in ordah for you t' get dis. Whether or not it IS real." Smitty said as Bozo just stood there, nodding.
