((Oro's says he's been busy lately, only being able to get on for a few minutes, so I suggest one of the people on the boat make a post explaining what had happened all this time if you don't want to wait much longer. o3o))

Yeah, she figured it was something like that. But she just... needed to stall for a little more time. As the Captain brought a hand to her cheek though she realized that there was little point in prolonging this little charade. This was it. Time to fess up.

"It's always a pleasure to see you, sir." she began with a smile. "But... you're right. There is something I need. You see, I... my..." Coline's brow furrowed as she weighed things in her head again. Was this really the only option? Casting her gaze down to her hands, she sighed.

Her hands.

"My glove!" she exclaimed. The recruit's eyes shot back up at the drow like a squirrel caught in the act, smiling sheepishly only moments after. "Y-Yes! Yes, that's it. Once I got back to the Training Grounds I noticed I was missing one, and then I remembered that you took it off, and..." Feeling her face start to gather heat again, she cleared her throat in an attempt to hold it in--if that were even possible--and went on, her tone apologetic. "I was wondering if I could have it back? I'm really sorry for having to trouble you with this at this hour."

Jessie gave her a strange look. She really was a terrible liar... but it was true, she had left her glove inside. Giving a small nod, he went back inside briskly and picked up the article of clothing he'd inadvertently stolen, having put it aside with the intention of returning it to her the next day after finding it while tidying up.

"Here it is," he said, placing it back into her hands "I'm terribly sorry for the inconvenience this must have caused you... your poor hand must be freezing!"

"But..." he continued, rather tentatively. He didn't want to make her uncomfortable, but... something was wrong, and something had been wrong for some time. Hadn't she been wanting to tell him something for days now? "I get the feeling that this is not the true reason you came to see me, my lotha'uss. Please... I wish you could trust me enough to tell me what's really bothering you."

Coline had hoped he would never have to bring it up. It seemed like there was nothing she could hide from this man. Her head drooped down slowly and she stayed in that same idle position for several minutes in silence.

"...Weapon." she finally said, her voice unwavering. "Out of every weapon you own, which one do you value most?"

Jessie blinked at her, almost unsure he'd heard her correctly. He hadn't expected her to turn things back on him... and on a subject that seemed so unrelated to what he'd asked of her.

"I... I have so many weapons..." he said quietly, mind whirling with images of all his possessions. It was his turn to be silent and mull things over.

After several minutes, his expression was growing increasingly concerned. Eyebrows furrowing, he appeared to be chewing at the insides of his cheeks as he thought, as if he were building up to a disturbing conclusion.

Then, as his expression seemed to reach its most pained, he suddenly relaxed, and even began to smile. How could he have forgotten?

"I do have a favourite weapon," he breathed, with a hint of utter relief. "I... I was actually steeling myself to say that out of all my riches, I have none that I value very much at all," he revealed, very sadly. "What would that say about me as a person...?"

Turning his body around 45 degrees away from her, he reached around with his right hand, which somehow disappeared into the folds of his robe. It was a strange sight, because his robes didn't even appear to have folds... it was as if the hand was simply swallowed by a great, dark mass. A moment later, the muted sound of drawing steel could be heard, and Jessie pulled slowly from the black depths a shining rapier, with an almost pearly-grey handle and a dazzling blade. He held it out for her to inspect.

"Mergloth* is its name", he said, with a hint of pride and triumph "I carry it everywhere with me. It has served me very well over the years. It is easily my favourite, but..."

He touched her arm gently with his free hand... making sure to keep it still, and not run it sensually up her skin as he had a few hours earlier with her waist.

"What does this have to do with anything, my lo- lotha'uss?"

Coline glanced up at the glimmering rapier, smiling pleasantly. She figured that it was really something of high value to him considering how proudly he spoke of it and how he went through the trouble of giving it a name. "Mergloth... a lovely name fitting a lovely blade. Thank you for showing it to me." she said, nodding gratefully.

But her expression soon reverted back to its passive state and she rose her head to look at the drow, a sudden intensity in her eyes. "Then how would you feel if you broke it, or... if it gets taken away from you? How would you act?" she averted her gaze, "Don't... say anything more, please. Just answer the question."

He slid the blade back into its concealed holder, perturbed by the intensity in her eyes. Frowning, his heart began to beat a little faster. What exactly was going on here?

A long silence passed between the two of them. Her last request, even though she'd looked down submissively, had almost been a challenge. He wasn't used to her asking things of him, but... it didn't make him angry, or defensive. In fact, he hoped it meant she was beginning to feel more comfortable around him as a person, and not as a superior.

He stepped closer to her slowly, until their two bodies were almost pressed against eachother. "I almost couldn't choose a favoured weapon, because at the end of the day... they're just weapons," he said, as much intensity in his gaze as hers "Objects - all of them, even Mergloth. There are much more important things in life than objects... like humans, for example."

With a small sigh, Jessie allowed his head to loll forwards and rest, forehead to forehead, on hers. "I would not die if Mergloth were removed from me," he whispered, having taken both of her hands. He suddenly felt very vulnerable... and it seemed to come through in his voice. "I would die if you were."

Wait, who let him drive this boat?! The Overseer glanced over his shoulder, wondering why everything was so quiet all of a sudden. Experimentally, he gave the boat more gas, but it was a slow, big lug of a thing, and wouldn't be so easily prodded into a quicker pace. So he hit the throttle a little more, and soon the beach was getting closer at a visible speedy rate!

Unfortunately, no one told him about parking a boat. He had been hoping Harata would intervene at that point. Perhaps the beach's sand was as good as any! They could just push the boat back out when they were ready to return it to its owner, right?

It... wasn't an answer she'd been expecting. She was under the impression that he'd be shaken to his core if any of his weapons were taken away from him, considering how fondly he regarded them just a few hours back. But hearing what he had to say now... apparently she was wrong.

Feeling her cheeks flush again, though not as furiously as before, Coline closed her eyes and allowed her mind to rest. She'd considered chiming in about her side of things but chose not to. She wanted to enjoy this moment of peace she shared with the Captain. Her Captain.

After what seemed like forever, Coline let out a small sigh, lids fluttering open. "It's getting late. I... have to go." she whispered reluctantly. Then, mustering whatever courage she had, wrapped her arms around him, head rested onto his chest. "...Thank you."

Tightening her hold one last time the recruit then broke away and sprinted off. She could only pray that fate be kind to her later that night.

Yes... There was no other way.

Feline furled her wings open instinctively as she was throw against the railing with a jolt. She reached out to steady the Sentinel who had almost been thrown overboard when the boat had suddenly and abruptly gained speed.

She looked to the shore and saw that it was approaching alarmingly fast.

I stayed on this boat to protect the Overseer, She thought frantically as the boat swerved and steadyed again on it's collision course with the beach. But now I'm wondering if I'm the one who needs protection from him!

Feline held her position, wind in her hair and a worried expression on her face, hoping that the boat of people would make it to shore in one piece.

Bapp nearly fell off the anchor as the boat jerked forward in a sudden burst of speed.

"This is an improvement." He grinned before looking at the boat's direction.
He gripped the side of the boat and pulled himself up so his face was visible to the passengers onboard.

"Oi! Overseer! You're going to fast! We won't be able to stop in time!" He shouted at the Overseer.

Sliding back down to his position on the anchor, Bapp started to nudge it forcefully, trying to loosen the mechanism so it would fall.
He stood up and began to jump on the anchor.

"C'mon! Drop!" He continued to stomp until a loud clank was heard, and Bapp found himself falling fast.
He had successfully dislodged the anchor, but was unable to find footing in time.
Seawater hit his face as he fell into the sea with a loud splash.
