Arcadian Your magic system, unless you were also going to offer up a new RP structure. Hardly. The magic system is fairly simple - for each of the six elements (fire, water, air, earth, light, shadow), each of the four clerical disciplines (offensive, defensive, healing, reinforcement), each of the two psionics (telekinesis, telepathy) and various physical and mental skills for those who don't want to focus on magic, there are rank levels equal to their rank. For example, say we have a journeyman with a primary element of air and a secondary of water. That journeyman can choose two powers from each of the areas for which they are eligible. Say they focus on elemental magic - in that case, they can either choose one fire and one air power, or they can choose two fire and two air. They can also choose those powers from ranks below their own, like if they want an acolyte-level fire skill. They may, alternately, choose a phycsical or mental skill. This is especially important for Templars, as they have no access to magic. For those who have only one element, they automatically gain all three magic abilities for their rank, unless they choose not to focus on magic, in which case they get the usual two physical or mental abilities. It's a little complicated to explain, but trust me when I say it's very easy to use.

I don't know about pirate, but Paladin skills are clerical / physical, and ninja skills are mostly physical. (there are various magics that could be used by ninjas)

Meaning they're kinda like pimp-magics, but different. Apologies for the weirdness. I've been playing around in Paint for, like, an hour and a half. My sense of humor is pixelated.

William Black Gendou, where does Foxfire fall in your magic system? Wasn't it air/fire? I thought that question came up already. If I'm wrong, don't worry. I've already eaten my foot.

Grayed If I'm wrong, don't worry. I've already eaten my foot. How was it? Would it be any good in jambalaya?

Foxfire would be fire, possibly tossing in some air with it, depending on what you want to do with it. It's not just one thing - each effect is a spell.

Audio and visual illusions are different spells - for example, air element makes auditory illusions, but visual illusions can be made with fire (simple) or with light (complex). Flame damage is fire only, naturally.

Yours makes a lot more than my system, which has ... um, 11 "elements" - not all of which have antithesis. Antithesi? Meh. Most of them work in a circular map but some of them just float about. I'd probably need to work on it a lot before I could actually chart it. sweatdrop
