The attacks met in the air and created a fine mixture as each pokemon poured more and more into it to try and win out the other one. The bubbles burst and the needles shattered creating a dazzling show of shimmering blue splashes and purple dust. The cloud only grew as more attacks went inside it and collided until it collapsed on itself. Poliwag and Ariados stopped, panting hard as they had held that for a good minuet without letting up. "Alright, Larvitar and Hitmonlee, Brick Break on Poliwag! Ariados and Poliwag, hold them back with Bubble and Poison Sting!" The command was sudden, but Larvitar and Hitmonlee were more than ready to spring. They both sprinted forward, Hitmonlee jumped up with his leg raised and Larvitar cocked his hand back ready to strike. Poliwag and Ariados were caugth of guard and were not ready to attack yet. Both were met with crushing blows as the Brick breaks smalled into the two of them and send them skidding back, but Poliwag was able to roll with his attack and Ariados had gotten really low to the ground, using the two legs on her back to block. Hitmonlee and Larvitar jumped back after the attack, and came forward for another. Poliwag and Ariados both fired off their attacks almost in perfect sync and bombarded their attackers with projectile force. Hitmonlee fell back and used his hands to push off the ground, doing a handstand hop to get back on his feet. Larvitar was not to acrobatic, but his rock solid defenses were enough to keep him from moving to much and he landed on his feet. Jump Kick again Hitmonlee, Larvitar use Thrash!" Larvitar ran forward blindly attacking non stop, taking all sorts of swipes at Ariados who was doing all she could to keep from getting hit. One of Larvitar's head butts pushed her back several feet, she could do nothing against a foe like that. Poliwag on the other hand managed to dodge his assailant, rolling out of the way and letting Hitmonlee hit the floor where he stood. Hitmonlee got up rubbing his throbbing foot, but got bakc in the game and got ready for another attack. "Help each other out then, Poliwag use Hypnosis on Larvitar!" Larvitar was still thrashing around violently, he wasn't able to notice Poliwag attacking his mind and using hypnotic suggestions to calm him down and put him to sleep. Larvitar slowed down a bit as Hitmonlee sprang forward with another kick, ready to crush Poliwag. "Constrict!" Ariados got the message, right away and shot a binding coil at hitmonlee. The silk wrapped around his leg and Ariados used the momentum of his kick to swing him around. It was difficult as Hitmonlee was so physically strong, but she managed to keep the kicking pokemon tethered and swung him around right into the groggy Larvitar. Both pokemon tumbled as Ariados let the coil go, she and Poliwag looking triumphant as they stood up to the power house pokemon of the team and handled them well. "Alright, that's enough. Take a break guys, we're done for now." Poliwag fell back into a sitting position while Hitmonlee rubbed his legs down. Ariados simply scuttled in circles untill she was satisfied in her spot next to Crenu and Larvitar simply looked outward at the surrounding area as if keeping watch.

Arms linked loosely, the siblings made their way from the Salty Seadra into a darkening night. How late it was getting already! Within the busy bustle of their private little room in the restaurant, there had been no indication of the time passing; in happy times, full of smiling, bright faces, time didn't feel like a reality. Mary-Anne suddenly felt very blessed to have such a pleasant life now, with a loving family, great Pokemon, and such an opportunity to meet people from all around and find new friends. Life was good to her.

"Watcha thinkin' about, beansprout?" Sae suddenly intruded, glancing at his sister. Her azure eyes were illuminated by the street-lights, and he suddenly saw Lynette in them. Smiled a little. "Oh, nothing," the girl answered in a lackadaisical tone. "Well, okay, I was just thinking... life is really nice, isn't it?"

"Isn't it," the brother echoed, nodding. They had reached the shoreline, now. Both M.A. and Sae paused to pull off their shoes before continuing on into the beach, sandles in hand. The sand was cool to the bottoms of their feet at first, but once their weight settled in, they could feel the warmth absorbed from the sun under it. Combined with the cool ocean breeze, the atmosphere was pleasant, albeit a little chilly. When Sae noticed her sister shiver slightly, he tossed his light windbreaker over her, despite her protest of being fine -- "won't it be silly if you got sick the night before the Beach Party?" was his winning argument. M.A. huffed and elbowed him lightly as thanks. They eventually came close to where the waves broke, listening to the sound of the water roll in, then rush out, over and over again. A continuous, never-ending cycle. The ocean breathed during the day, under human eyes, but it lived at night too, even when all was asleep and its only company was the moon. The siblings sat down in the sand at a measured spot, a few meters from the waterline. Then they were silent for a while; M.A.'s knees curled up against her chest as she leaned against her brother, Michael sprawled back comfortably, both just staring at the pitch-black sea without a outward word. M.A. glanced up for a moment, to stare at her brother's face. He was the male version of Lynette, definitely, with his jawline, mouth, and near-black hair. They had looked so alike back then, except Sae was usually scowling and Lynette was usually quiet and serene, even as a little kid.

"Hah, I swear I had something in mind, but it turns out I didn't," Sae finally said, breaking the silence. His voice was hardly louder than the crash of the waves not far from them. "It's fine," M.A. replied. "It's just nice to spend some time with you. I'm the traveling one now," the brunette continued, smirking a little. "/You/ get to wait for /me/ to come to visit now."

Sae smiled and draped an arm around to squeeze her shoulders a little. "Yup. So make sure you stay safe in one piece and in one piece so you /can/ visit. I don't want to get a phone call from some other region's hospital hearing that my sister did something stupid. If anyone ever gives you any trouble, I'll come get you, okay?"

M.A. laughed. "Don't worry about me so much! I can handle myself. Gee, the way you talk, you're almost going mafia member on me." Light laughing. They fell silent again, eyes fixed on the marbled water in front of them. They could feel change's gears churning. The past would become what it was called -- the past. Excepting one year or so, her whole life had been happy. She'd been sheltered from it all, but now it was time to really define herself as a person. This realization only hit her tonight; when she left home, she really wasn't thinking much. But now...

Sae suddenly jerked, his head twisting to the side. M.A. would have stumbled over if he hadn't caught her with his other arm. "What is it, Sae?" she asked, perplexed. She noted the searching, far-away expression on his face.

Sae frowned. "Thought I heard her."

Their grandmother on her mother's side had been something of a ghost-speaker, cursed with the ability to see spirits. She presumably saw then, called upon them, etc. . . The woman had grown wicked as she grew older though, abandoning M.A. mother shortly at birth. M.A. had seen her twice in her life, although both times she was very young; she remembered distinctly disliking the woman. Nevertheless, her blood gave Mrs. Rustings a good sixth sense, and gave Sae the ability to very rarely pick up on stuff. Very rarely; he'd only heard a dead spirit twice in his life. The blood must have run out there, since M.A. was perfectly normal.

"Maybe it's the ocean playing tricks," he said, smiling with a sigh. M.A. nodded once. The ocean had played a cruel trick with them eight years ago; it could be liable to do it again. "I was almost kinda hoping, though, that if we came out here..." his voice trailed off. He didn't know what he had been expecting. But he would've liked to see, hear, feel his twin again. Just so the memory wouldn't fade. Long, long ago it had lost its associated pain; then, there was fondness in the memory, and in the last few years, it had hardly affected the Rustings at all. "I didn't want to forget."

A breeze rustled past them, playing with their hair before disappearing.

"It's okay, Saesae," M.A. said gently, looking up at the moon now. "Didn't she tell you that one time she was happy, and that she'd kick your butt if you didn't get happy sometime soon too? I don't think any of us can... totally forget. She's still with us, in here," M.A. said, thumping her chest. "Don't worry so much."

"... Yeah, you're right," he conceded, leaning back and relaxing again. He remembered something quick, from the far past. "You know, uh, that I love ya... right?" He said hesitatingly, looking at his sister.

"Yup!" M.A. said, knowing where he was coming from with this. Conscientious Sae never fully forgave himself for that one time. "Stupid Sae. Love ya too. So stop being such an idiot and have fun on your little honeymoon thing already."

They laughed, and sat together for a last moment.

Not too far away, the Rustings' hotel room sat smack on the beach. Mika watched her two children from afar on the room's porch that opened up to the sand's edge. For a moment, she could see a shimmery figure stand and come around to embrace the two as they sat. She smiled, then felt her husband coming up behind her and giving her a hug. The man let go after a while and analyzed his wife's face. "She's there, huh" he asked, his gaze gentle and dreamy as he turned towards his distant children, although he himself could see nothing.

"Sure is!"

When dessert came Luffy gave a small cry of joy before stuffing his face with ice cream. Razputin just settled down on eating a fruit tart much more calm in his eating it then Luffy. Brook just rested on Robin's lap watching all the others, though specifically all the girls.

Robin herself was eatting a brownie sundae with warm fudge dribbling down from it. She and her mom had a weakness for the delicious dessert and if she had the choice that was what she would always pick. Over all the rest of the dinner was much less stressful for her. She even laughed somewhat at the Gengar's antics. She watched as some of the people left from where she was slowly eating her sundae. Suddenly she felt very full and pushing her sundae away she patted Brook on his head for a second before smiling and putting him away into his pokeball. Looking over to where some of the pokemon still were she pulled Razputin back into his ball before getting up. Going over she picked up her now fat Aipom and grabbing a small towel and whipping his face before heading back to the table. "Thank you very much for the wonderful meal. Thank you even more for your company to."

That said she turned around and headed out making sure that she had a good hold on Luffy. The stupid Aipom had eaten himself into a coma. Groaning slightly she looked around hoping she could find the pokemon center. Looking down at her pokemon she debated for a second, it couldn't be good for you to fall asleep after eating so much could it. Maybe if she could go sight seeing or something.

"AH!" Mitsu cried as she suddenyl remembered that she had not properly thanked either the Rustings or the Ranmo family. Unfortunately the Rustings were already gone, so she'd have to save the thanks for some other time, but Ranmos were still there! She walked back into the Salty Seadra quickly as if they would leave if she didn't make it into the room in five seconds flat. Ah! They were still there! "Thank you for the dinner. And my Pokemon thank you as well. It was excellent," she said with a slightly sheepish bow. "Ah! And I apologize of Ebony, ah, my Gengar caused you any trouble." She tried hard to make her voice sound at easem but one could tell it wavered there and there.

Not wanting to stick around for any family time she left the building for the second time. The sky was dark and the moon shone with a lovely brilliancy, but it was too early for sleep in her mind. A few paces away he light hearted mood suddenly dropped as reality hit her. How lucky both M.A. and Kilik were to have such a loving family. Not once could she ever remember eating dinner with both her adopted parents and brother. Her hand flew to her heart as she balled up her fist, clutching a handful of cloth. Damn, it really hurt. She shook her head to get rid of the thought, but it definately didn't work. She let loose a low growl, now upset with herself. To let such a trifiling little thing as family to bother her? Psh-shaw! That's no reason to feel sad at all.

Truth be tol, however, she was still hurting. And unconsciously she entered the Pokemon Center, not even noticing Crenu and his whole slew of Pokemon training, and sat down at a desk. It was rather far from the entrance and she could easily hide whatever was on top with her bag. Now having said that she slung the brown bag over onto the desk and drew the ancient book from within. She placed her bag slightly over the book to hide it from prying eyes and began to translate the text. It was a difficult task often resulting with her symbols and letters to become mixed up, or perhaps she'd misinterpreted it. It was a very frustrating task. "Why is this so hard? Why do I have to be this 'Child of the Forest'!" Mitsu muttered to herself clutching her head as it dropped down with both anger and sadness.

"I'd say a day or two, actually," Keegan answered, scratching the back of his head. "But then again I'm no expert on these sort of things so don't listen to me..." He reached up to pat Helios, trying to pretend like he hadn't said anything. The Vulpix, meanwhile, had watched the egg pass from his trainer to the girl trainer, and he glanced up at the female Charizard, who was still nodding in approval. He'd known that lady Charizard all his life and she was probably the one Pokemon he respected most in this world. Kasiya was lucky to be receiving one of her eggs, plus that meant that when it hatched, he would have another fire type Pokemon to play with.

Mr. Summers cast Keegan a disapproving glare before lightly cuffing him on the back of the head. "Don't say such things, Keegan, you know more than you care to admit. You're right though. Most likely a few days is all you'll have to wait," he said to Kasiya, nodding. "And you, boy. Have more faith in yourself. You'll never get anywhere in life with an attitude like that; pretending you're daft. Now if you'll excuse me," he grunted, and turned around and headed into the barn, most likely to tend to other eggs or baby Pokemon.

Keegan stared at the ground, feeling embarrassed and belittled. It wasn't that this sort of thing was new or anything like that, it was more that it happened in front of his friends. "I know you'll treat it well, Kassie," he told her, trying to sound reassuring though it was hard to hide the tremor in his voice. The day wasn't even half over yet and already it had felt like an emotional roller-coaster ride. He sighed and shifted on his feet, rubbing at his temples with the index finger and thumb of his right hand. He didn't know how much more of this he could take and he glared at the barn door for a moment. "So what now?" he asked finally, shoving his hands in his pockets and approaching his three friends.

The streets of Slateport City were starting to darken and the hot summer air was cooling down rapidly. Walking through the city some lazy avoiding the large throngs of people who had arrived a bit early for the beach party. He hoped he could find the person he was looking for, then again he didn't know if she would be here, he just figured that since everyone else was she would be to. Looking through the crowds somewhat lazily, he really couldn't spend a lot of his time here. Finally he spotted what he hoped was a familiar purple head of hair. Grinning he followed behind her for a bit trying to decide if it was indeed her. He paused outside of the pokemon center for a second trying to debate if he should follow her inside, he still wasn't sure if it was her yet. Finally he decided he might as well go make sure if it was her or not. Stepping through the sliding glass doors he glanced around to see if he could find her. Eventually he did see her sitting near a desk and pulling out a big book. Grinning as he realized it was her he headed on over just to hear the end of her little sad speech. Heading over he sat down on the back of a couch that was near her.

"Now now what has gotten my little sister so upset?" He asked with a small grin on his face. Over all Dante had changed a little bit. The little accident with Zapdos that had turned his hair white temporarily was reversed his hair back to its auburn color. Around his neck like always was the large Ho-oh feather and the string had collected a few more colored gems on it. Also around his neck and his wrists were silver bands that were over the black shirt he was wearing. "I come all the way here to visit you don't seem to be happy to see me. I even brought you a gift to."

The voice that spoke startled her so that she leapt up slightly in her seat. The voice was familiar and she grinned as she realized who it belonged to. "Dante!" Mitsu exclaimed, very happy to see her big bro. Well, technically the two were not related in any sense but she had grown a fondness to the boy very much like a little sister would grow to a caring older brother. Of course this was all before she discovered that she had a real older brother. She rose from her seat giving him a quick hug, a genuine smile forming on her lips. "I shouldn't even try and avoid this whole book thing," she said laughing lightly. The legendary Pokemon probably knew all about it as well as the Child of the Forest legend, and thus Dante probably did too. "This book is just really hard to translate. I've gotten no where!"

She'd expand on the subject if he asked but the prospect of a gift perked her interest more than some old book at the moment. "A gift? What's the occassion Big Bro?" she joked poking him slightly. She missed saying those two words: Big Bro. It felt nice and brought back some wonderful memories. True, she did have another brother, but 'Big Bro' never really fit him, she prefered to call him Touya. The two hardly acted like siblings, more like roommates if anything during Mitsu's short stay at her perpetually empty home.

Anyhow Mitsu was extremely glad to see Dante again. It had been a while since she'd seen him after his Zapdos encounter and she really missed him. She remembered things such as Dante's talking Meowth and the adorable Kenny. And no one could forget the silver Rapidash, Apollo. Apollo and Kenny were always her favorite. The loyal stallion and the silly little ghost were both so lovely.

Grinning at the sight of his little sisters frown turn upside down. Hugging her back for a second before letting her go. Looking over with interest at the book he smiled slightly as he listened to one of the legendary pokemon whisper in his head what exactly it was. "Don't worry to much about it that book. It will come to you if you keep working on it. Do not stop but don't let it get you down either. If you don't want to look at it for a bit then you do not have to. Like I said it will all come in time." Turning his gray eyes back to Mitsu he smiled slightly. "Well you certainly seem eager to get a gift from me. Is that all you care about?" He laughed slightly at his teasing of the younger girl.

His humor faded though for a second before he settled down to a more serious matter. Mitsu was the only one he really care to sit down and explain everything to and he would do just that. "I am actually leaving for a bit. You probably won't see me for a long while." He paused for a second staring at her to make sure she knew he was serious. "So I decided to leave one of my most important things to you. I know you will take good care of him because I no longer can." He hoped Mitsu would understand. He was also pretty sure that she didn't know about him giving out all the rest of his pokemon, but he was also sure she would find that out here. He wanted to tell her himself that he was going to finally go and pursue his dream of working with, or for in this case, the legendary pokemon. He was still upset that he couldn't take that journey with his pokemon that meant a lot to him.

"You know it's not the only thing I care about," Mitsu said lightly before sitting back down as Dante himself pulled up a chair and sat as well. "And thanks for the reassurance. It means a lot since you're pretty much the only person who's seen it." She stuffed the book back in just in case someone walked into the Center. She didn't want any intruptions. Something told her that this would be the last time that she'd see her dear big brother in a while. Perhaps she had picked up some od Tate, Liza, or Karri's six sense. She felt a pang of sadness within her heart but she knew living his dream meant quite a lot to him.

"You're going to live out your dream aren't you, Dante?" she asked, a sad smile lingering on her lips before disappearing. It was a rhethorical question of course. "The most important thing?" Mitsu asked this time truely questioning the boy. But wasn't the most important thing to him Apollo? His magnificent silver Rapidash.

Mike's eyes quickly shot up at Flannery as he felt the tingle of foreign fingers on his back and the burn of foreign eyes on his own. She had that look in her eye, that sympathetic look. He hated 'that look'. She's on to us. He thought with a mental sigh. Great. Time to play the dumb card. With practiced precision, Mike's frown curved into a very happy, but not too over the top smile. He lifted his left leg and lazily tilted until he was resting against the red headed Gym Leader. He looked up at her with another grin as he wrapped his arms around her. That outta throw her off. He thought, his expression unchanging.

"Well," He scratched his head at Keegan's question. "We could have that battle before lunch is ready? That is, if you're up for it." While he waited for his answer, Mike leaned forward and buried his face in Flannery's exposed stomach, his pseudo-happiness melting into actual glee. Girl's stomachs were so soft and warm.

Nitro decided that while all this sibling stuff was awesome, he would have plenty of time to socialize when he/she actually hatched. He knew from experience that Pokemon were much more fun to play with when they were actually Pokemon. Case and point, throwing a fully hatched Napalm was much more fun than throwing around an egg. He didn't have to worry about Napalm cracking; that is unless he threw him too hard. Okay, less disturbing thoughts. Nitro grabbed the unaware Magby by the tail and tossed him into the air. He crouched down and lifted off into the air. He didn't want to crack Napalm after all, just have some fun.

Napalm screamed as he was hoisted into the air, flailing around helplessly as the Charizard's toss shot him skyward. He looked down, seeing an orange colored rocket speeding towards him. It was Nitro! In mere seconds he he once again yanked out of the sky and set on the Charizard's back. He playfully hit his teammate. That was fun, but he didn't want to do that again; at least not without warning first.

Mike could only smile at his Pokemon's antics, he was glad that they were getting along so well.

Crenu recalled his pokemon, satisfied with the training they had done. He didn't want to tire them out to much so decided to call it a night. But it was still early, for him at least, and he had no intention of turning in for the night. Besides, even if he wanted to he didn't have a place to crash for the night so he figured he'd put off taking a nap on the cold pavement as long as he could. He was quite bored now and so he sat on the steps of the center while thinking of what he should do. The museum was probably closed now, and so was everything else he assumed. He just sat there in the cool night air and thought about random things related to battles. Before long he found himself whistling a calm and somewhat sad tune. He thought about the dinner that he had not been a part of. It didn't really bother him, or at least he thought it didn't. He would have turned it down he thought, but he was sure everyone had a good time. He had really only had one friend growing up, and she was stuck back in his home town. He didn't socialize much and he drove people away with his personality, but there was nothing he could do about that. he didn't want to do anything about it, he loved being who he was and didn't care what other people thought of him. But still, he had to admit, he was a bit lonely when he was on his own. Ky and M.A. were the only company he'd had on his journey so far and he even distanced himself from them whenever he could. Why did he strive for solitude if it bothered him at times? He supposed that it was because he only felt the pangs of loneliness every now and then, but was that really true? As for his 'group', Ky was A.W.O.L. and M.A. was wrapped up in family matters, something he was going to try and distance himself from as much as possible. He'd never been one for big family moments, his only family was a dead father and a depressed mother who probably didn't even care that he was gone if she had even noticed. He shook these thoughts away, letting them escape his mind in the form of the sad melody that he whistled.

Kilik nearly cried out when the Gengar splashed ice cream in his face. It was so very cold. Taking a napkin, he wiped it off his face and sighed, glaring over at Ebony. "Oh, it's on." He smirked, "I don't know when and I don't know how. But I'll get you...oh, I'll get you." The boy stood up, Elekid on his shoulder, having gone down to the table to grab any scraps of meat that may have been left behind before jumping back to his trainer. Flareon followed as well, his belly almost bursting with food. He certainly felt sorry for all the Pokemon that belonged to Kilik that got left out - especially Weezing. He knew that the gas cloud was a big eater, but the idea that he was left out rather upset him.

Kilik said farewell to the Rustings family, watching as M.A. walked out of the building. He waved good-bye to his other friends then turned his attention towards his family. They all looked at him with bright smiles. "Mind if I stay in your room tonight?" he laughed, scratching the back of his head. Sure, the Pokemon Center had comfortable couches and yes, they had comfortable guest beds. However, it was the rooms you paid for that had the best beds. They even got to have their own television. It was sort of like a hotel room, only without a private bathroom.

The Ranmos all walked out of the Salty Seadra together, Janie complaining that her big brother couldn't carry her on his shoulders because Elekid was in the way. Instead, he opted to hold her hand as they walked. Whenever he looked at her, he didn't see a little sister; he saw a friend. He knew that no matter what he did, Janie would never be mad at him or see him in a negative light. That was always a plus. "You're sweeping with us!" she laughed, jittering about excitedly. She must've missed her big brother's sleeping mannerisms: she knew that he always fell asleep with one knee bent, his mouth slightly agape, and his left arm over his eyes. It never failed and he would always wake up in that same position. Sometimes she wondered if he even moved!"

"Yes, Janie," Ranmo said, holding his wife's hand, "Though I think we should all get an early rest. It's been a long day for all of us, I'm sure." The family nodded in agreement, "Oh! I almost forgot to tell you, Kilik. Mazarin's mother called." Oh boy. Mazarin. That's JUST what he needed. Sure, he was his best childhood friend, but the kid was just so...out there. "I answered the phone," Mrs. Ranmo continued, "she said that he was going to be coming to the party, too. He needed a place to stay, so...we invited him to our room." "He should be in our room by now. we told the Nurse he'd be coming."

Fantastic. So much for sleeping. The family entered the Center, said good night to the people who were in the lobby (including Mitsu and Dante, the former of whom Kilik had not seen in a time.) "Bahamut's doing fantastic, buddy! She evolved too!" He called out before being pulled into his bedroom for the night. And sure enough, Mazarin was sitting on the couch, his fake Charizard wings making his position quite awkward.

"Hey, hey, Family!"

Kasiya nearly fell over at the information of her egg hatching as early as tomorrow, but for her egg's sake she remained upright, still hugging it to her chest. For a fleeting moment everything (at least in her happy little mind) was perfect, but it faded when she realized she was already carrying six Pokemon with her. Crestfallen, she looked around almost helplessly before she realized that the solution to her problem was as simple as depositing one of her other Pokemon to Professor Oak's laboratory, and just like that the panic attack subsided. She felt the unborn Pokemon wriggling inside the egg and her heart soared with excitement once again. She recalled that when she first received the egg that contained Ariel, she felt no movement for quite some time and each passing day had been disheartening. That is, until, the little Eevee within started feeling cramped inside. This little Charmander would make for the fourth egg she would be hatching. Ariel, Adamantine, Rosemary and now the little flame lizard.

She was snapped out of her thoughts though when the sound of a shrieking Magby filled her ears, and she looked up in time to see Nitro rocketing up into the air to catch the Live Coal Pokemon. Kasiya smiled at the Charizard's antics, thinking way back to when he had still been a tiny little Charmander. Nitro was one of the first Pokemon she'd ever befriended - right alongside Anna and Karri as well. Kasiya closed her eyes at these old thoughts. Boy, she and her friends had come a long way since that day in Vermilion. "Wait, battle?" she asked then, only registering then what Mike had said a few moments ago. The remark had been directed at Keegan, and Kasiya silently wondered what the two had been talking about during her gym battle.

Needless to say it was a little awkward standing there, with Mike pressing his face into her stomach. Flannery had to shift on her feet in order to remain upright. She was tall, yes, but not exactly heavyset. She glanced over at Kasiya, who for a moment looked like a scared Rattata that had been cornered by a Meowth before reverting to her normal, happy-lookings. She shook her head at the younger girl, wondering what went through that blonde head of hers. "You guys might as well get it over with," she said, shrugging at the two. She didn't know exactly what they'd been talking about either but she figured this battle may have had something to do with it. Boys, she thought, rolling her eyes a little. Sometimes they could be such... boys.

Keegan then looked up at Mike and nodded. "Read my mind," he said with a light smirk. "Just do me a favour and at least leave Nitro out of the equation, eh?" Helios shivered noticeably from his trainer's shoulder, still wearing that look of 'are you mad?' Keegan patted the fox on the head and hoisted him up so he could look the Vulpix in the eye. "What, you afraid?" he asked the Pokemon, who scowled at him in return. "How are we going to get stronger if we don't take on challenges?" Helios seemed to ponder Keegan's words for a moment, and his ears twitched a few times before he began to wriggle in the redhead's arms before jumping down to the ground. The fox seemed a bit apprehensive, but he knew his trainer was right. The two made eye contact for a moment before Keegan looked back up at Mike. "So how's this gonna work?" he asked, his voice calm and nonchalant. He was a bit surprised to find such confidence in his own voice but when he thought about it, he realized he was confident. While he knew he and his Pokemon weren't on the same level as say Kasiya or Flannery (at least the Pokemon she didn't use in gym battles), he knew the only way to bridge that gap was to start building.

"Again Nightmare! Twister!" Touya commanded. His voice was strong and firm as it drifted through the sounds of the choppy ocean. The waves slammed into the island's cliffs with no hesitation as if they were running headlong into a truck without fear. Dragonite gave a reassuring roar as he summoned a wave that fought against the natural flow of the ocean. The wave rose, larger than even those that were already there. Nightmare roared trying to gather the harsh winds together to form an attack. The blue-white wall of sea water loomed over the half submerged Gyrados ready to pound him completely into the ocean. Determined not to lose to the Dragonite again he directed the Twister at the wave. The wave exploded into droplets that rained down onto the sea dragon.

Touya held his grip tighter onto his orange dragon as the twister exploded the wave causing the wind around them to swish around violently. Once both the waves and the air around them had settled Touya spoke up, "Good job Nightmare. Your Twister attack is becoming better above water. Let's try again! Dragonite, this time use an Ice Beam!"

Dragonite reared back his head as the temperature of moisture around his mouth began to several dozen degrees in seconds. In moments a beam of ice began to travel at an alarming rate towards Nightmare. The attack wouldn't have hurt too badly but the point of this drill was to dodge. Nightmare dove into the water to avoid the attack as the attack connected leaving a pool of ice where Nightmare had once been. Yards away the Gyrados resurfaced before unleashing another Twister attack at Dragonite.
