Daeron shook his head. "Actually, I haven't seen him at all since he left. I know he was in the city once, but no one but Aranhil saw him then, and no one's heard anything else since then. Still, that was years ago. I'm not fond of traveling in the desert, so most of my traveling has been through the other lands. I know the Southland is my home, but I know it least well of any of the lands."
He noticed Elnara's look and smiled. "Ada won't be down, don't worry. He's taking all of his meals in his room while you're here."

Lore was glad, it was a relief to know something like that even though at the same time it was a bit of a disappointment to know that Ruel wasn't even going to try. Quite a pity he thought, but then again he was sure his own family would have done the same if he ever had the gall to come back. Well actually they might try to chase him out, not just avoid him.
"Well then," he murmured, "Perhaps we'll have news for everyone when we get back."

"I certainly hope so," Elnara agreed, though she was glad that she wouldn't have to worry about Ruel anymore, unless she happened to run into him in the hall.
"It's a shame that no one's been in contact with him, though," she murmured. "Perhaps once I've seen him and he learns about how different things are here now, he might initiate a bit more contact. I know Nako would like that."

Daeron nodded his agreement. "Yes, she would. Everyone would, even Ada. He hasn't got any quarrels with Uncle Gion. Not that it means he would go see him or anything, but you know."
He shrugged.

"How long as it been since anyone had last heard from him?" Lore asked.
It sounded like it must have been for a very long time.

"Aranhil saw him about twenty years ago," Daeron replied, "and that's all that anyone's heard since he left ... when Nara-thel left. So it's been about twenty-four years or so."
He paused.
"Well ... Uncle Elrohir was out there once, with Donovan, Yue, and Thalion-tol," he added, "but ... well, that was also a long time ago, and he really didn't say anything except that Uncle Gion was planning on getting married."

"Twenty years is a long time," Lore murmured thoughtfully.
He finished his meal and set his fork and knife aside thinking about it. It would not surprise him if Gion had a full fledged family at this point.

"It is indeed," Elnara mused thoughtfully. "It just feels strange for me because it's only been less than a year since I left here. You, Daeron, were only four when I left ... how old are you now?"

"Twenty two," Daeron replied with a grin. "And if it's been less than a year for you, then I'm older than you are now."

That, Lore thought had to be a bit strange, having a nephew that was now older than you when he was younger than you.
"That is..." he ventured, "Hard to wrap one's mind around."

"You're telling me," Elnara laughed as she finished her meal and set her dishes aside. "Anyways, we might as well go wake the children and get going then. Daeron, will you stick around here for a few minutes until your mother comes? She promised to take care of them while we're gone, and I would feel easier knowing that they won't come down to an empty hall."

Daeron smiled and nodded. "Of course I can," he assured her. "I'll stick around, too - it's refreshing to have them around here, it really helps cut through Ada's ridiculous attitude and makes it more bearable."
He chuckled. "And I swear, between Lin and Celebor, Ada's really going to have to smarten himself up sooner or later."

Lore chuckled at that, even though he was worried for the those two little ones, it was nice to know someone found them a good presence to have around.
"Hopefully," he murmured, "We won't have any repeats of what happened with Celebor..." he blinked, "But what is this about Lin?"

At that particular moment Lin chose to enter the dininghall she was early in hopes of catching Haradhel before she went up the mountain, but she didn't know if Haradhel stopped for breakfast at all. She hoped so though. Trailing behind was a blonde little doll with a blue dress and white apron, if anyone knew the stories who know this was Alice (not to be confused with Mia's psycho plushie cat).

Elnara laughed softly and took Lore's hand. "Come," she smiled at him. "I'll fill you in on our way upstairs. Apparently it's quite a story." She giggled a bit and tugged him to his feet.
"If we wait too much longer it's going to get hot on us," she added softly.
