Kimiko seemed to be covering distance twice as fast now she was rested, she could se it now ahead of her, the very top of the tree, the sun was sending splintered rays down into her hair, dazzling of it into a crimson light. Her emerald eyes meanwhile once more looked alight, she was so close now, so close... her hands were moving faster than ever now, she was going to breakthrough the canopy, her hands were grasping branches now, the leaves above thinning, just a little further, just a little further... just a little further...
Roll:13 DC:10 Train:8/10
Xen, without warning sped through a sequence of hand signs, his face neutral as his chakra flooded through his body. In twin blasts of smoke two Bushin appeared on either side of him. -2cp 13cp
Without a word between them the two bushin sped off in opposite directions... Xen closed his eyes, waiting for a moment, then turned his head. So the little game had begun... he would hunt down and use his own clones as the final targets to his Jutsu... he turned... and sped of after the first.
The first didn't take long to track down, he'd instructed them to slow to a medium run after they left the clearing, so he caught up with him quickly. The unsuspecting clone was following it's masters orders perfectly, going along at a mellow pace when, from nowhere, Xenon spotted his opening.
In a flash he appeared behind his Bushin, and with a now finely practiced thrust he dispersed the clone into smoke...
He turned about... one left, then he'd move to the final test...
Bunshin no Jutsu: This is a basic technique taught to ninja at an academy. In certain years, Ninja are required to know this jutsu in order to advance to the Genin level. Bunshin no Jutsu creates one or more clones of the user, which can be used as a means to create a diversion, distraction, or cause confusion. Unlike Kage Bunshin no Jutsu (Art of the Shadow Doppelganger), these illusory clones will simply disappear if come into contact, thus, they are without substance, and cannot do anything to damage the opponent. Cp cost: 1 pt. per bunshin. Damage: N/A Requirements: Academy students learn it on the academy as a basic jutsu. Special: Can create 1 per 5 points in Chakra control. Up to 5 bunshin can be created. *The user assigns a number 1 through 6 to themselves and each of their clones indivudually. The attacker rolls a 6 sided die to see what they hit. The Intelligence check DC to see through an attacker's bunshin is the 1/2 the attacker's int mod + half the attacker's chk mod

Kimiko stood, her smile ear to ear. She looked a little roughed up, but not too much the worse for the ware. For just a moment, the beauty of the view overwhelmed her, then she was content to merely stand there, gazing at her village.
The attack had left it's scares, even the villages violent past showed itself in some ways...but in truth...to her it was beautiful. Because despite that, despite all that had happened there were still those left in the village that would keep going, still those left that would never give up. Like her, they'd climb this tree whose shadow in which they stood, and not matter how long it took them, they'd stand atop the world just like this.
The wind blew back her hair and took a deep breath of it in... it was moments like this, that made all the hard parts of life worth all the while and more... she put and hand to her mouth and at the top of her lungs called out gleefully "JUSTICE AND LOVE WILL ALWAYS WIN!!"
Roll:3 DC:10 Train:8/10
Xen tripped and his clone sped off, making an escape. He lifted himself up his eye twitching. He turned round and looked at a tree top that he could clearly see through the breaks in the branches. That shout...it had been...
His eyes grew less annoyed and he dusted himself off. That was... a small smile tugged at his lips. "Heh..." he shook his head resignedly "stupid girl..." he shrugged it off and kept pursuing his quarry, that small smile still wanting to spread across his face.

Xenon slipped up yet again, he slid to a halt as he once more tried to assess his Clones location, without simply feeling where his chakra was. He had to practice this as though it were a live target our the exercise was pointless. He turned his head frown left to right, slowly turning his body. His eyes were actually quite good when it came down to it, and indeed they served him well. He detected a flash of movement off in one direction and hurried of after it, still trying to keep his presence hidden from the bushin...

The bushin was running through the brush, it's form exactly akin to it's master's. It's golden eyes darted back and forth, in a sweeping fashion. It's will, the orders received from that which was it's originator, that which it was a part of, and that which it would return to, were to be aware, to run and be aware... When one got to it, a clone was simply chakra, chakra given form by a sampling of human will. This was likely why the more advanced clones took on traits of their users, more chakra, more will. The Bushin didn't think, it didn't need or desire to think, it was merely a limb, an appendage to it's originator...speaking of which...
The Bushin returned into it's master, dispersing in a blast of smoke. Emerging from the cloud, Xenon was rotating his shoulder blade, as though loosening it up. He finally seemed satisfied and headed off, his destination the clearing where he'd broken the rock... it was there his training started, and it was there he would master this jutsu...

Xenon stood in the center of the clearing once more, and once more his hands flashed into a combination of hand signs, yet this time only one bushin appeared.
Xenon's orders to it were simple. Stay here...try your hardest to keep track of where I am, and dodge the attack should it come... The bushin stood straight, it's ears, just as sharp as Xenon's, perked as it's golden eyes locked with his own. Xen nodded in a confirm before he started to back away...slowly fading into the shadows of the trees. Now was the true test. Before his clones were not expecting an attack, but in a battle, could he repeat what he'd done against the young man? The circumstances of the previous night had been tilted in his favor thanks to planning, and fore thought, but on an even playing field, against a calm opponent, could he land a decisive blow? Hitting a still target was one thing, hitting a moving target another...but hitting a thinking target...
As Xen struck the clone lunged to the side, tumbling to a stand still, both whipping about to face one another...
That was an entirely separate matter...

The clone stood...it's eyes, even though they match his, had lost him...he slunk through the shadows, his form loose, ready to flow and adapt in case of any sign of an opening... then....
Xenon appeared in a flash, rushing at his full speed, he smirked his eye got a mischievous glint in it, just as it had when he'd first used the technique, with a triumphant shout he destroyed his clone and bellowed "A Thousand Years of Death!!"
Xenon finally let himself fall lax. He took a moment to control his uphoria at success, and walked off to retrieve his coat. He wanted to head to the library, but he'd done a good job today, it was time for some sleep, the library could wait till the morning, then, after that, a true D-rank jutsu...

Jutsu: Kai Release, Day one, Part one...
Roll:8
Xenon walked, his coat blowing in the wind. He was feeling very out of place all of a sudden... maybe it was his mind set. He was now already starting to become more aware of himself, the chakra flowing through his coils, the shifting of his muscles as he walked. He had started looking and paying attention to everything mentioned in the notes. The voices of the scrolls were streaming through his mind, reminding him of their advice.
He passed several other people here to train, but he didn't so much as look at their faces, he barely noticed them. All he cared about was finding someplace quiet, someplace no one would disturb him.
Finally, after about a half an hour of searching, he settled on a grassy field ear the far right edge of the grounds, and settled there amidst some flowers. The flowers, the scene, all of these things went unnoticed by him... all he seemed to care about was that is was secluded, and he wasn't likely to be disturbed here. He put his hands together,as though in prayer, and seated himself in a meditative position... this was it...he was going to master this jutsu...unquestionably...
Exercise: Punches that burn with passion! Feel the power of a Heroine's Soul! DC:12 Formula:1d20+Taijutsu+Str(You said I can only do one ability right? But does skill count? Because this would make sense for the task.) Train:0/10
Kimiko was feeling especially energized today. She couldn't quite place it, but somthing seemed to be motivating her, just like the day before. This time though, she was going to work on her Taijutsu. After all, she for now it was her specialty, and real heroes could all fight with their fists, weapons were cool, but only if you didn't really NEED them to fight. She struck and fighting stance, facing the post. "Okay training log!" she yelled pointing at it. "This is how it's going to be, my blazing will assault you with reckless abandon, if I am not able to punch you 100 times, then let my spirit be distinguished, and a greater hero take my place!! HIYAA!
Roll:3+1+1=5
Kimiko unleashed a flurry of quick punches only to have one miss it's mark, slipping of the side, she nearly lost her balance. She jumped back slightly. 'Oooooh, no good, I've got to get every one of them right...as dictated by my BLAZING SOUL!' she took her position again.

Justu: Kai Release, Day One, Part two Success:0/15 Roll:14 Xenon closed off his mind now, focusing entirely on his own chakra, focusing entirely upon the motion of his energy... he needed to think. As a Genjutsu user, he new the ins and out's of them rather well, despite that he'd yet to really master any. A Genjutsu was like a disease, a foreign entity in the chakra system. It was true that will could be used to drive it out, but this technique was about using chakra to battle chakra, fighting fire with fire... he had to use his chakra to wipe out any foreign influence...any chakra inside him that was not his own. For this he would need to dig deep into his own knowledge of his chakra and it's currents...
Roll:15+1+1 DC:12 Train:1/10 Kimiko let out a yell as her punches flew, to her though each punch seemed to move in slow motion, her mind conducting each stroke. One, her other fist came in right behind it, two! her first hand pulled back while the second preformed a follow up jab Three! She finally brought other hand back into the action four! Then with quick series of jabs and one final strike, 5,6,7,8,9, she then reared back and plunged her fist into the post, causing it to tremble slightly. 10. She jumped back her knuckles already feeling somewhat sore, but that didn't matter, pain just meant your body was testing you. she hopped back and forth from one foot to another, ready for her next barrage.

Xenon put his fingers together. Each tip touching each tip. He could feel the chakra moving now, it was all one big system, true he knew this from studies, knew this from class...but this was the first time he could actually feel it. Even when he was adjusting his chakra he was just...tapping into the system...not really seeing it as a whole. It was like looking at the screen on a computer, you were only seeing a single facet of the system, it's output, you could control the out put to a degree, but the true complexity of the system was beyond you, until you opened up the case...
Xenon was now just starting to open that case...
Roll:5+1+1 DC:12 Train:1/10
Again, another miss, her punch had been slightly off to the left. She couldn't lose control like that, Passion was dangerous if it got out of control, like fire, if you let it get out of your hands it could destroy an entire forest... she had to keep her Blazing soul under her control, had to focus it's fire... toward the goal she saw on the horizon, or in this case the spot she'd picked on the pole, either way she wasn't going to be satisfied with a miss. She took her stance once more, still bouncing and ready to go...this was just another day in life of a Shinobi in training, she'd totally beat this.

Jutsu: Kai Release Day One: Part four Success:1/15 Roll:8
Xen's knowledge of the chakra network was limited, but then, on such a vast subject that many researchers had spent centuries trying to pick apart, that was actually saying a little. It's true he wasn't an expert, but he knew about the basic hubs for chakra, not the chakra points themselves of course, those were far to small to exactly pin point, unless you were one of those stick in the mud Hyuuga's. No, his knowledge was more centered around what many spiritualists referred to as the Seven Chakras. While closely connected with the bodies "Eight Gates" the Seven chakras were the centered Hubs of the chakra network. Xenon only knew of them exclusively because, generally or not, they were the focal points for a Genjutsu attack...
Roll:12+1+1=14 DC:12 Train:2/10
Kimiko seemed a soul alight. She seemed completely intent to bludgeon the post all the way through where countless shinobi far stronger than her had failed. She didn't have a chance yet of course but that sure as hell wasn't stopping her. She let loose another flurry of blows, raising her count to 20, that she was counting any way. She was still seeming in top form, despite that her knuckles were still feeling rather raw now. She tossed her hair back and raised her fists once more, picturing Maboroshi's face on the post helped for some reason.

Jutsu: Kai Release Day One Part five Success:1/15 Roll:14 DC:15
The Crown Chakra, the main source for most all Genjutsu attacks. This Chakra governed the mind and nervous system, and was, as it's name suggested, located on the center of the forehead. Xenon focused on this area in particular, for it was the most likely area to be affected in the event of a Genjutsu assault, while Genjustu tended to spread through the body like a venom, this was there starting point, the proverbial injection point, if one wished to cut one off, this would be the place to do it Xenon imagined.
Roll:6+1+1 DC:12 Train:2/10
Kimiko recoiled slightly as he hand nearly was caught by a splinter. She frowned, chipping the hazardous peice of wood away and resuming her stance. It didn't matter how long it took her, she'd stay here all day if she had to... She was going to complete what she set her mind to, it was rule number 125 of being a hero. Finish what you start. She brushed off her hands, and settled back into the same old stance. Bobbing as though the log might suddenly decide it wanted to hit her back. She cracked her neck with a tilt of her head then dashed forward on one foot, preparing her attack...

Jutsu:Kai Release Day One, Part six Success: 2/15 Roll:19
Xenon seemed cast his mind about, exploring his own chakra network bit by bit, feeling out every twist an turn he could manage. He was starting to wonder just how blind he'd been. When he truly explored it, he found that indeed much of his chakra network was completely undeveloped, and indeed some parts that were developed seemed entirely beyond his control, they might as well have been rivers rushing by him, with he naught but a fist full of stones to change it's course. He was actually both troubled, and excited at how truly little he knew of his own power. For one he was realizing how ignorant and inexprienced he really was, on the other, he could see he had increble power waiting inside him, if he only dared to seek it...
Roll:7+1+1=9 DC:12
Again Kimiko recoiled in pain her left knuckle bleeding. She clenched her fist as though angry with herself for letting it get to her. She gritted her teeth and settled back on her feet. There was no way she was going to give up...no way no way no way. She pushed aside the pain as she was getting into the habit lately. She could never face her nemesis like this. He was both cunning a ruthless, dangerous and already way ahead of her...she had to catch up! See HAD TO! "HIYA!!"

Jutsu: Kai Release Day One Part seven Success:2/15 DC:15 Roll:2
The shere size of the task before him was becoming clear, this jutsu wasn't simply about mastering hand signs, wasn't even merely about, how much chakra to put out or even how to focus the chakra, it was about mastering himself to at least some degree, mastering the mysteries that lay within himself... this would not be an easy task...and even if he spent time toward it, he still might fail...still... he couldn't let that daunt him...he had to try, or he would never get anywhere, that at least, was no illusion.
He tried to focus on the chakra, tried to seek out that hidden lock within him that might open the secrets he sought... if indeed there was such a convenient thing...
Roll:12+1+1=14 DC:12 Train:3/10
The punches landed perfectly, each one causing some small measure of pain, but she shrugged it off, ignored it...it didn't matter to her at all, as she'd noted before, it was just a test. She had to feel pain, pain was growing, pain was progress, without pain she would never get stronger, that at least she knew, after all, that was what all the heroes in Manga said right? You had to push yourself to your limit if you wanted to pass it... and she wanted to pass her limit and then some.
She didn't pay the slightest heed to the throbbing, she simply readied her knuckles from more punishment and set her sights... that was 30 done...she winked to herself, only 70 more to go...

"Hiya! HIYA!" Kimiko was relentless. Despite the fact that every punch continued to pain her, she showed now sign of it. What's more, every punch was not merely mindless violence. Every strike was a form, every one some piece of her fathers teachings. He'd been the one to teach her Taijutsu, though of course, that's not what they'd called it. Her father teaching her had always never been about becoming a ninja... at least, not openly. Her father taught her martial arts, that was all, when it became ninja tricks she wanted to learn, when it became Taijutsu as opposed to regular martial arts...he'd stopped teaching her.
Kimiko looked frustrated. She knew his reasons, and sympathized with them...but still... Her father didn't want her to become a ninja. For all the faith he had in her, there was still some vision at the back of his mind where his daughter was killed in action, or even worse, lost her blazing soul amidst the hell of the Shinobi's life. Kimiko launched another assault.
Jutsu: Kai Release Day One Part eight Success:3/15 DC:15 Roll:16
Xenon let his body fall slightly limp. His shoulders sagged and his head fell down, looking into his lap. He tried to lose himself in the flow, the very feel of his own chakra. Tried to let himself sink into the rhythm of the chakra...his chakra...his rhythm...
Suddenly something started to pull him, and in his weakened state he didn't resist.
Xenon opened his eyes... he was surrounded by flowers, as he was just a moment ago, but...everything seemed so...nostalgic. The very air he was breathing felt familiar, like he'd seen it all before...
He saw his mother playing with a younger version of himself, saw her smiling and laughing... he blinked looking at the scene with mild analysis. 'A memory...could I have delved so deep into myself that I unlocked a memory...' he looked around with interest. 'A piece of myself I locked away long ago...' He walked forward and looked into his younger selves eyes as he laughed and played. The golden eyes were so...innocent...no, that wasn't the right word... ignorant...blind... they knew nothing, and they saw nothing, the world to them was beyond an unbreakable illusion...an illusion that the eyes, if things stayed as they were, might never have penetrated. Then he saw it... the path he had to take...
