My sister doesn't talk to her or my dad at all anymore because they do the same things to her, only sometimes worse. She refuses to associate with them because they're both hot-tempered and, in my mom's case, will never ever apologize. And I know my mom's trying to figure out what's going on...If she would just open her ******** eyes she would see that she's insensitive and domineering. I've told her that over and over trying to help her with Kyli but she refuses to consider the possibility that she might be OHMYGOD WRONG about the way she deals with her children. rolleyes
She expects me to get ******** perfect grades after everything I've gone through this past semester. She expects me to not be depressed after not doing so well mentally, and then failing a class, then getting worse again. She expects me to not re-take the class I need to take over the summer because getting a job is more important than LIFE ITSELF. She expects me to magically have a full-time job. She screams at me and says I'm lazy for doing so poorly in school and not having a job already.
Well I'm ******** sorry no one wants to hire me. I can't get a job if no one will take me.
I really can't handle all this.Poor Hila. heart School > Work. Always. I agree. School >>>>> Work. Besides the fact that Work gives you a paycheck, but hey, sometimes school gives you a check too! So double win! My friend has school full time, so she can't get a real job. [She has class/lab sometimes at 1am... gonk She does odd jobs for her school though. 3nodding As for me, I chose to work straight out of High School. I don't really regret it, because I didn't know what I wanted to do--and I really didn't want to go to 'High School 2'. I am really looking forward to going back next spring though.

Manji 2.0 I know how it feels. I've been trying to get a job the past year and a half. I see them goto my friends who are less qualified than myself. I refuse to go into the food industry due to my sinus'. Anyway, yeah. When I was 15 I was sent to a camp for troubled teens. Basically it was bootcamp. Just 1 month after I came home from it, My mother moved away. not saying anything whatsoever. I've been living alone since then, only having my grandmother and aunt support me. I've had 5 years of Highschool, 4 of middleschool, remember middleschool is 6-8 grade. I must have failed 9th grade english 3 times. I finally figured out it was the teacher having such an effect on me that I didn't want to do anything. meh anyway, sorry for boring people with my s**t. Just letting you know I understand how you feel. I'm sorry. That sounds much worse than my situation. I appreciate your empathy. I hope we can both get jobs soon. FanFicGuru Have you looked into other things to help you pay for the study abroad program? Like scholarships, etc? My relationship with my mom is great, but I'm just saying that I have all the money I need for school on my own, so I don't have to depend on anyone. If you could take that leverage away, chances are your life wouldn't be quite as stressed out. Unfortunately, I can't get scholarships or financial aid because my family's total income is too high. Besides, it's too late for that now anyway, at least for next year's study abroad. After that I'll try to do what I can to be independent of her, but right now I don't have much of a choice. Hopefully hila-mum will eventually realize that the job is just of temporary and current benefit, whereas getting the classes done and getting the right schooling will pay off in the long run far more than any summer job will.Thanks, Pi. That's how I feel too. Mala, I wish she would realize that. She just doesn't seem to understand that what I'm trying to do is save myself now so I don't have more trouble very soon. =/

So my friend was trying to convince me that ska and reggae don't sound the same, he didn't want to consider the three waves of ska, where each wave sounds significantly different than the other. I told him that, if anything, first-wave ska and reggae sound similar, they don't sound exactly the same or anything, but you can definately hear similarities.
For those not into ska or reggae, it was more or less like saying, "Rock and rap don't sound the same!" But not accepting the fact that you can't really say what rock sounds like other than a guitar, drums, and bass. You really have to break down the genre(s), and somewhere down the line you'll find something that sounds somewhat similar.
