I'm thinking about starting a Legion for Warhammer 40K Space Marine.

Alright then. 4e and the Essentials line are cross compatible (essentials basically is the 4e equivalent of 3.5) I'll get a bio section set up.

I'll need to go get the 4e stuff. Looks like I have 3.5. Not a big deal though. Just gotta go find a torrent.

Had gastroparesis all the past week, not fun at all. And just like the two times in the past, the useless hospitals can't figure out what the hell is causing it.

Setting aside my stomach, good luck with the tabletop stuff. I tried once and won't be trying again. In the meantime, how are you peeps?

Just didn't like it? Or did something happen?

A bit of both, actually. If you remember, a few years ago I tried joining a technomancer game my friend Mahana was part of. Well, the Game Master was a douchy guy named Vince. First off, he clearly didn't like me, because he was bleh about me joining, and didn't exactly explain the game mechanics very well. Then, he seemed to do the game a bit weird and random with rolls and stuff. My character was half-avian, and a male stripper with an extreme shyness issue. Well, he kept conveniently having my character end up "out of the way" all the time so he could not interact with anyone or whatever what going on at the time. He also had this "godly" npc character who was suppose to be the bodyguard of this other chick's char, who was a mob princess. And of course, this "Guido" guy was a big brute who seemed to bully my char. Eventually, I gave up and just stopped showing up. I recently found out that Mahana and her friends are going to stop with the guy because he made a bullshit GM call and "found all kinds of mystical stuff hidden" in an area they had been to earlier(Despite the fact that Mahana's character has one of her special traits being that she would have sensed such things in the first place), and then he proceeded to just randomly steal exp from everyone. That crap, plus the confusion I get regarding the whole dice and game master issues, have left a bit of a bad taste n my mouth regarding it. I suppose if I could get a decent game, with a decent GM, I might try it again, but I still would need to learn the mechanics. I remember reading through the books a while back when joined it then, and it all just never made much sense to me and seemed very confusing, as well as highly constraining to making an interesting, dynamic character with room for growth and character development.

I'm pretty sure Vain would be a fair DM and I'd be learning with you. And I only know the rolls for Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Fantasy soooo.

I'm a very laid back kind of DM, you have to be if you want the players to have fun. Too many DMs get wrapped up in trying to tell their story or forcing the players into the directions that they want to take that they never just let the players well, play. Hell, I've had a campaign where everyone suddenly decided to be evil for the lulz of it mid campaign and burned down a village they were meant to protect. So long as the game is moving in some fashion (character development, plot, fights, ect..) I could careless.

4e is straighfowardish to learn. A d20 controls most of what you do (give or take a few modifiers). But like Ryu said, you'll be learning together, and I'm constantly teaching people how to play (As I'm apperently the only guy in town with the patience to DM for people, not even the RPG and Card shop in the town ever runs campaigns)

The best part of when they did that was the fact that they hung the town guard in his office, stole his uniform, and impersonated him. It's funny as hell watching a Warlock wear platemail trying to act like a solider. What was amazing about it though was the player had damn good luck, and always passed his bluff checks, no matter how high I made them.

Another amusing time was when I was playing in a group as a chaotic neutral Cleric (I was also DMing, but because we had too few people i had to give them a sort of NPC guide to balance the numbers). Our rouge was, of course, a treasure whore and got us into a lot of problems because of it. Eventually it got to the point that I sparta kicked him down a well filled with giant spiders. Despite the fact that I was the only one able to do any damage due to me being the only ranged character, we still won with no deaths.

Updated the campaign thread with some basic back story. Just enough to give an idea of the setting and initial goals. Added a thread for scrap paper uses. In there I'll make a post showing the basics of rolling up a character.

Ahaha, I saw that. Any idea what class/race you intend to use? I'll set up mine last so I can fill in any role we need.

I'm completely lost now.... stressed

Jayson's father died Sunday night. His family was too douchy to tell him because his father left everything to him and his daughter in the will. He found out this afternoon from a friend of his c**t stepmother. So he's both pissed and sad. redface .

No idea what race yet. gotta go look at their ups and downs.

That sucks Cat. Some times family can be your worst enemies. Specially when it involves leaving people money after death.
