Not really... that's Dojibiron, a show that one of the characters (Imadori, the blonde guy) and some of the characters' younger siblings like. It doesn't show up much, but often figures into Imadori's antics...

Ah, alright. xd I thought I was gonna end up seeing a really trippy episode when a giant mecha appears and causes havoc.

/sigh mad mad

He isn't. Earth 2 Superman is the pre-crisis Superman. Superman Prime is DC One Million or something.

So, I had some friends visiting from California this past week. One night, over a very late dinner, we sat around telling stories about different productions we've been a part of (school plays and the like). And my friend had this fabulous story from when he was in college. Stream howled with laughter when I told him.

Luna's friend
So during my school's production of Jesus Christ, Superstar, they had this giant cross on a mechanical lift that would raise the cross and the guy playing Jesus up for the crucifixion scene. Once the lift was standing straight up, it was supposed to stop. Well, one night the pin that stops the cross from going too far fell out, so the cross went up, up, up...and didn't stop. As the actor strapped to the cross slowly was lifted out over the orchestra pit, he could clearly be heard shouting "JESUS CHRIST!!!!" over and over again.

Luckily, the top of the cross reached the end of the orchestra pit, so the poor actor just hung there for a while over the musicians while he waited for someone to help him.

xd

I'm getting the feeling I ought to just keep my little explanation bookmarked. XD

In a nutshell:

Marvel Universe, between Avengers Disassembled, House of M, and Decimation, has gone to hell and back. With all the chaos going on, the US government begins contemplating a law to force all superheroes and villains to register with the government and take a position with SHIELD. Naturally, this doesn't go over too well. A group of leaders of the hero community (Reed Richards, Tony Stark, Namor, Dr. Strange, and Black Bolt) get hold of this and fragment pretty badly, despite having been working together for years (aparantly) to share information. Stark and Richards support the bill, while the others are against it. Then, the s**t really hits the fan.

A group of New Warriors decides, on their Reality TV show, to go after four members of the FBI's 10 most wanted list. Now, the New Warriors have always kind of been a B-team, but they take three down with little trouble. The fourth, Nitro, gets hit into a school bus. Nitro's ability is to blow himself up then put himself back together. So he does this, blowing the whole area to hell. In a populated area. Right outside an elementary school. All four of the New Warriors there are dead, as are 600 others. This sparks massive anti-superpowered sentiment. Human Torch gets beaten into a coma by angry citizens and the Government pushes ahead on the bill with great speed. The remaining heroes begin to debate what they ought to do. They're all hanging out in a room discussing it with Captain America standing outside guarding it. Then Maria Hill, new leader of SHIELD, walks up with a squad of guards. They talk for a bit.
Maria: "So, who's against the bill?"
Cap: "A few big names, mostly those who work close to the streets, like Luke Cage and Daredevil."
Maria: "So, no one you can't take, then?"
Cap: "...Excuse me?"

Cap refuses to fight heroes who go against the bill, and is thus branded a criminal by Maria. The troops surround him, take aim, and get their asses handed to them by Cap, who escapes. That's right, Captain America is now an enemy of the state. The other heroes are now gearing up for a war within the superhero community. And the supervillains are going to get involved at some point in the near future as well.
That is all.

Konnichiwa minasan (hello everyone),
I was looking for a second opinion because I'm not really sure how this all works (I'm new to many things). So we're about a week from starting up D&D (Dungeons and Dragons) with a bunch of kids in my grad. class, last night was mock battle/info night to test out how things work. It is super fun btw and I am not sure why I was not playing sooner! Perhaps it takes the right people to make it fun!
Anyway, my DM (Dungeon Master) told us that we have to get in character when we RP (roleplay), and that includes voice acting because it makes the story vision more real.
One challenge that I did on purpose: I picked a male character to test my knowledge on men, and a lady because that's easier for me.
Challenge 2: The male character is a dwarf-ranger class. I am not 100% knowledgable on either or as my only knowledge on dwarves and rangers sprouts from Lord of the rings, so maybe a mix between Gimli and Aragorn?
Challenge 3: I have a rouge half-elf. I'm guessing the half-elf won't be too hard because it's like Aragorn, stuck between men and elves in identity for a time.. I get that myself from being Asian living the US. Problem, what do rouges do? This isn't like Rouge of X-Men, I'm thinking, thus, I think maybe that all they do is steal stuff? Does that make them troublemakers and getting into michief, or is it more putting on a scary front to be sneaky and get your way?
Challenge 4: I need voices for these characters. What do you think? How would these characters sound? I did Speech team in high school for 5 years (started in 7th grade), but I was never good at voices. They were always just me being myself, so I cheated. But I can try to get myself into character and their heads. The problem is the voice.
One for the dwarf, one for the half-elf. If you have examples on what would be cool for voice acting, and/or how they should act in character, could you give me some examples? For example, something fun they may do or think about, obsess about, and what their voice resembles (maybe a movie character, a singer, actor, celebrity, etc?)
Doomo arigatoo (thanks very much)!

Well, rogues from earlier editions of D&D were basically just thieves, but in 3e they do more or less whatever they want. You could allocate your skill points to make you more of a scout or spy, or you could focus entirely on stuff like picking locks, casing joints, and disarming traps, making you a pure burgular. You could also set youself up as more of a bounty hunter, with your skills helping you get the drop on other thieves.
The first thing to do with voices is decide the rest of the character before you add the voices. If your thief is more of a con woman than assassin, then maybe she's got a sexy voice that drives right to the libidos of the men she's taking for everything they've got rather than a low, threatening monotone. Or maybe she's got a really cutesy innocent voice, like the stereotypical anime schoolgirl.
Another good example of this is that I could make a few human warriors, but one would be a swashbuckler replete with a cynical yet suave and charming tone; the second could be a veteran of several wars as a member of his town militia, with all the rasp of a voice used to barking orders at a bunch of goddamn wet-behind-the-ears recruits who barely know which end of a pike to hold; and the third could be a young knight errant with years of training yet no experience, all full of false bravado and convinced that his heritage is evidence that he can take anything.
Class is just the first step in the character. I reccomend hitting Barnes & Noble for a few hours to skim through a few books relevant to your gaming world to get an idea of the specific stereotypes and cultures of said world... then choose what you want to run with from there.
Besides, once you get a handle on these things, it gets more fun to play against type, like one of my wizards, and evocation specialist who attended a prominent military school, Aeryn, who was well versed in military history and tactics... and aggressive enough to make the party fighters nervous.

So based on the skills, one could go with a stereotype, or counter-stereotype depending on the class and race to determine how they will speak? As a ranger, would my dwarf be fairly smart, and as a rouge, with, from my memory, basic lock-picking skills, be good at sneaking around and being deceitful, so maybe her words would be ambigious?

MY favorite 3.5e d&d character was probably my lawful evil dwarf cleric.

Our DM allowed me to play ring of blinking like nightcrawlers teleportation powers.

so yeah, my cleric blinked inside of a beholder and had half of his armor melted into his face and arm. the horror of being inside of the beholder drove my cleric mad. or some s**t like that.

My 2nd fav was my half dragon ninja spy.

Wow, that's awesome!!! I suppose D&D does have lots of creativity flexibility..

f'in marvel civil war signatures. I need to start reading it. I got a glimpse of spidermans new ironman suit and it's so ******** bad a**.

DUDE, you read Spiderman??? Is it better than the movies??? Wouldn't iron be difficult to move around actively in combat in?
Again, it depends on your thoughts, but I do find the comics better than the movie just because there's a lot more to them and they can tie in with other comics.

And it's not really Iron, nor is Iron Man's suit. That's just the name. It's more Future-Tech. It's just as flexible as his old suit, but has more stuff with it. Night vision, gliding, can hide itself and become visible on a whim, underwater breathing, and three mechanical arms out of his back (not terribly strong for combat, but useful for various other tasks.

Here's a pic.

WOW, that's an awesome costume! I never would've thought of Spidey with mechanical-like spider legs kind of like what they did with Doc Ock (first thing that pops into my mind)... but that would be cool if they integrated those feats into the films later on that you mentioned! But I suppose with comics, similar to films based on books, the comics always have the most depth and detail, because well, they're comics, and they can be about any length, whereas movies have deadlines for time and a limited budget to consider..
